The Holy Spirit is God. The Third person in the Trinity.

Jesus is gentle in the sense that He will never harm us. He may hurt us, (such as in disciplinary action) but only because He knows best for us.
---Adam on 10/14/07

No differance at all!
NO, no one talked more about going to hell
for not converting to his doctrine than him!
Samarian woman:called her a Dog...
Mary his mother: Would'nt give her the time of day, when her and her other sons tried to get thru the crowd of people,
and he replied, those that DO the will of my father, the same are my brother, mother & sisters!
How Much longer must i put up with you,
he has told people, Even his own disiples!

the peace He gives us is this kind.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

the main thing is this. Galatians 5:22
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

"He spent a lot of time screaming at pharisees and overturning moneychangers in the temple." This is the only class which I see Him as regularly attacking. These were the religionists who would have kept people from finding Him. Not gentle, but purposefully loving of the masses.

To Steveng: I appreciate your blog responses. They are generally interesting and thoughtful.

Jesus was certainly not gentle all the time.

He said "I came not to bring peace, but a sword".

He spent a lot of time screaming at pharisees and overturning moneychangers in the temple.

He withered a fig tree because he was hungry and it didn't have any fruits (even though it wasn't the right season for figs).

In Revelation, he is shown killing multitudes with the sword coming out of his mouth.

"What are the differences of personality....?" There are none. The LORD is one God and is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the LORD and does not change, nor does He posses multiple personalities. "do you think that Jesus Christ is always gentle?" After finding merchandiser in the house of God He "made a scourge of small cords and dove them out of the temple..and pour out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables." Not always.

Christ acts according to what is needed:

Harsh Examples: He over threw the tables in the temple (Mt. 21:12), He scolded the Apostles for the unbelief (Mrk 16:14), He scolded Peter (Matt. 16:23), He told the Pharisees, and Scribes, bluntly that they were hypocrites . etc.

Gentle examples: He called a child unto him (Mt. 18:2), He forgave the adultress (John 8:10), He healed a multitude of sick, and forgave their sins, and so on...

What a Great God!

Was he gentle when He chased the businessmen and the taxpayers out of the temple? Was he gentle when He called the Pharasees names? To a regular witness, it may have seemed like He was a wee bit upset turning over all the tables.

I believe and I know that Jesus is a gentle person and I also know that he punishes those that fall away from his path, but he loves everybody including me.

Jesus is the Lion and the Lamb.
He is balanced in every way possible.
He's gentle with children and mighty with the nations.
