Sin is Sin! Only humans claim one sin is worse than another. There is really no Biblical evidence of that. In fact, Christ goes one step further than the OT law - He states that even if we THINK an sinful thought it's just the same as doing it. But, in the end result, we have Romans 8:1 ff to claim.

This is from a source.

"Sins such as worry (Phil. 4:6), unthankfulness (Col. 2:7, 3:15, Lk. 17:11-18) and not being completely humble and gentle (Eph. 4:2) are not included in any of the lists of sins that will send people to the lake of fire, even if they were once saved. However, other sins certainly will send any person to hell if they die in an unrepentant conditioneven a person who was once saved. (See 1 Cor. 6:9,10, Rev. 21:8, Gal. 5:19-21, Eph. 5:5,6, Jude 7, Rev. 22:15, etc.)."

John 19:11

11Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."
---Matthew_from_LA on 10/11/07

An indifference of spirit between truth and error, good and evil, may be called charity and meekness, but it is NOT pleasing to GOD.

In Revelation 21:8, these are all cast into the lake of fire! There is no distinction between a liar and a whoremomger, the sin receives the same punishment.
HOWEVER, the BLOOD of Jesus makes us HOLY and as long as we confess our sins, no matter how big or small they may seem, we walk clean and can enter in.

As regard to Satan to and fro in heaven. There are different Heavens. Paul makes mention of the third heaven which is the one from which Satan was cast. He can not return there!

Are some sin worse than others? Yes. We are told there are sins that lead to death(hell) and other sins that don't.

1 John 5:16-17

16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death
---Matthew_from_LA on 10/8/07

There are some sins which are more grievous to God. Certainly blasphemine the Holy Ghost is one. God also saids, "Anyone that misuses my name shall be punished". For a true believer, sin is most grievous to God, the closer that you walk with Him. And I would recommend that every true believer walk close to God if you want to see Him.

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,:24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.:25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished:26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

part one

part two
Rom 3:27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith.

Rom 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.

It is a consequence of translation but the word for faith is really a verb and could be written as "faithing" it is an ongoing once you have faith as long as you are faithing you are still being forgiven.

If we are Christian, we should know that Christ had a purpose and HE accomplished that purpose. That purpose was to do away with sin, not counting mens sins against them. God reconciled the world to Himself, through Jesus Christ. If you dont believe this, your not a true Christian.
People just dont want to believe in the work of the Cross. Some, just cannot accept the love of God.
---duane on 10/8/07

Let me ask, why are you a Christian? Why did Christ die, for what purpose?
Christ set us free from sin and your still fighting it. Your still in bondage.
I know Im forgiven, dead to sin and alive to God through Jesus Christ.
Confession and repentance of sin will NOT set you free from sin, ONLY the blood of Christ. There is no other way.
The question is, Do you believe in the work of the Cross? Do you love Him?, Do you believe in Him?(faith)
---duane on 10/8/07

Please don't take this as an attack.

The Apostle Paul states:
Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Paul is saying if we add one thing to grace then it is not grace, it is works. Eph. 2:8 says we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God.

Just something to think about.

Bless you,

If this statement is correct,"If anyone has any sin in their heart before they die, they won't make it into heaven because sin will not enter in." What can we say about Satan(the very embodiment of sin itself) going back and forth to heaven? Do you see a little problem here?
---Mima on 10/7/07

Duane, are you suggesting that God made a mistake in the OT and that He decided that future humans only needed to believe and not strive for anything more? The Old Testament records the preparation for the New Covenant. Why prepare at all if it were really that simple?

Why warn us throughout the new testament about falling back into sin. Why warn about hell? Why warn about how we will be judged on the last day? Remember that the Epistles were written to the believers.

Hi, no one sin is not "worse" than the other in God's eyes, all sin is sin. But the murderer causes an unbelievable amount of devastation in many lives--trust me on this one. One broke my heart as a teen and it's still trying to heal at 43. But yeah, sin is sin just the same.
---Mary on 10/7/07

It is a sin to commit mass murder, and it's a sin not to repay the dollar you promised to repay. Is one a worse sin than the other?

I dare anyone of you to just try and get to heaven with unforgiven sins. What are you better than me? Are you a gooder person than me?
---catherine on 10/6/07

Sin has already been judged...Sin cannot and will not be the cause of not having eternal life. We must believe in HIM. Its by grace through faith we are saved.
---duane on 10/6/07

Sin is sin in God's eyes. In people's eyes there are big sins and there are little sins. Some believe it is a bigger sin to murder than to steal a car. To me sin is sin. But there is one sin that can not be forgiven ever and that is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. If anyone has any sin in their heart before they die, they won't make it into heaven because sin will not enter in.
---Rebecca_D on 10/6/07

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin. That is the attributing the gifts, works of the Holy Spirit to satan.

I agree. Sin is sin! Even what man would consider the smallest sin would seperate him from God if it were not for the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Whisper, brings up blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Matt. 12:31. One cannot be forgiven for this sin.

The child of God cannot commit blasphemy against the Holy Ghost:
1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Bless each of you,

Yes. "That servant which knew his lord's will, and prepared not, neither did according to his will, will be beaten much: but he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of strikes, will be beaten less. All manner of sin and profaning will be forgiven to humans, but the spirit of desecration will not be forgiven: Whosoever speaks a word against the Holy Ghost, it will not be forgiven that one, neither in this age, neither in that to be." Luke 12:47,48+ Matthew 12:31,32.

If God sees sin as sin then why would he give intructions for heavy and light punishments depending on the seriousness of the sin all through the BIble? How can some of you think that murdering someone is the same as telling a bad joke? And would you treat a murderer the same?
---john on 10/6/07

There are supposedly 370 different kinds of sins recorded in scripture.

There are 13 sins that damn the soul: Evil thoughts, evil surmisings, imaginations, devisings, wanton, lustful, lascivious thoughts any mind activity not brought to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Corinthians 10:5. then there is the ONE and only unforgivable sin that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
---Whisper on 10/6/07

God sees any sin as sin. The unpardonable sin is to blasphemy the Holy Ghost.
