Yeah, Todd1! :) I love that one, thank you for reminding me of it. :) I wish I could get that one seared into my brain and never forget it! Obviously ALL Scripture is good for us but that's one of the most comforting verses I can possibly think of. :) Praise the Lord for HIS goodness, not mine! :)

Jer. 29:11-13

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

Ecclesiastes 12:13 For let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep his commandments, for this is mans all. This is a verse Christians seem to forget, even Jesus talked of keeping the commandments. When we keep the law and the commandments then we show our faith. As the book of Revelations says, those who have the testimony of Jesus and keep the commandments.

Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

Jesus said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Amen.

Matthew 28:18

I choose Isaiah 43:2! All people face trials and temptations.God grants a way out, and says "when you walk through fire you shall not be burned".

I know I was saved & spared from a literal
"fire" years ago.

This is the one Bible verse that I just recently by pure accident came across. And here it is.>>>Surely I am more stupid than any man, and I do not have the understanding of a man, neither have I learned wisdom, nor do I have the knowledge of the Holy One. Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name? Surely you know?>>>Prov. 30-2. [Abased]

Jack, She is speaking to her "Mother in Law" after Naomie just lost her son and Ruths husband for goodness sakes. I would have said the same thing. Also Naomie had just lost her own husband, they had bonded in a Christian and healthy way. The Bible tells us to love each other FERVENTLY this way all men will know you are Christians for the love you show one to another.

"For the Son of man will come in the glory who's Father of him, with the angels of him, then he will reward to each according to the works of them." Matthew 16:28.

Romans chap 8:18 is very powerful to me. Also Romans chap 8:35-39. Such hope and assurance that we as Christians need in these terrible times we live in. Nothing shall separate us from the love of God. Nothing...praise Jesus! I have hope today.

Jack, what ever do you mean by this? "RENOUNCING heterosexual marriage and finding a husband."

** (Ruth 1:16) Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay, your people shall be my people and your God my God, where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.**

Has anyone but me noticed the actual context of these words? They were said by one woman to another woman, and the promise was about RENOUNCING heterosexual marriage and finding a husband.

Read it!

Cynthia that's one of my one favorites :-)
Jerm9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 55:8-9

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts

(Ruth 1:16) Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay, your people shall be my people and your God my God, where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.

This verse has always stood out for me. I have a strong desire for it to be part of my wedding vows when I marry, it's one of the most profound declaraions of human fidelity that I've ever come across.

In response to Duane... no offense, but that verse does not condemn liberals. It says that vile people should not hide behind the label of liberal, and churls should not be called bountiful. Because vile people are not liberal, and churls are not bountiful, and they should be recognized as such.

So let faith, hope and love abound and the greatest of these is love.:)

All of these are great. Mine is in Matt 14:27-31, when Peter took his eyes off Jesus he started to sink. but Jesus saved him even though his faith was weak.

Jack, I've also been amused by that verse. That the Lord dictated it to the author of Kings, I have a doubt or two. Blessings to you.

This is an extremely difficult question, because I'm like a kid in a candy store. I've got a whole book full of wonderful verses.

How about this one:

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
---trey on 10/11/07

Wayne, really great question. My verse is, "For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22)
---InimicusStultitiae on 10/11/07

Personally,
I like the one that says:
Greater is he that is within you,
ect. ect. ect.(sorry)

What does God say's about? Liberals:
Isaiah:32
5 THE VILE person shall be no more called lIBERAL, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart WILL work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to UTTER error AGAINST THE LORD, TO make EMPTY THE SOUL of THE HUNGRY, and he will cause the drink of THE THIRSTY to FAIL.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58)

And I think of how liberals don't know we can sweetly and personally and sensitively share with You, LORD, while we really ARE doing our labor "in the Lord." (((o:

Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. Vs. 6, In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths. Amen, this is my "life verse" so to speak. I even have a checkbook cover that has this truth of the word of God inscribed on it! God Bless..
