To Whosoever has an ear to hear?

We please (honor) God by loving Him with all our heart, soul & mind and loving our neighbor as ourselves!!! This enable us to worship Him as we should, in spirit & in truth, as stated in John 4:23-24:

:The true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Music is a part of worship as is prayer, but as someone posted the meaning of the word is honor and that is key.Worship is a way of life, not an emotional response to some song.We truly worship God when we daily live for him an represent His kingdom properly. We HONOR him.Worship starts when you open your eyes in the morning and continues through the day as you honor God.

Linda and Dan, why did you think this blog would turn into a law/Sabbath debate? Is the Holy Spirit trying to convict you of something?

Romans 12:1 is a good verse to describe worship. I think bringing ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto him is a good definition of worship. Worship is not just singing, it is giving, loving, reading the Bible with your family, praying, serving, caring, listeing, and speaking kind words over people

It is being kind to your family and friends, it is cleaning up after people, it is giving your last dollar away to someone who needs it more than you, it is driving in traffic and not cussing anyone out, it is smiling at the poor girl behind the check-out stand with three kids to feed and no husband. It is being Jesus with skin on and doing it all to honor him

It is hoping for the best for everyone you meet and blessing them even if they curse you. It is doing your job to the best of your ability even when your dog tired. It is praying for the lost to the point where your heart breaks for them. It is singing with passion to the Lord and not caring who hears. Again- anything you do as an act of Love towards the Father or someone else in his name is worship. Remember the key word- sacrifice. It's all about laying ourselves on the alter.

In a non- traditional sence I am thinking of Jesus saying If you love me FEED MY SHEEP. In a marriage when a man worships a woman, he washes her in the word. I am thinking that when we serve others in the way of giving them the Gospel or some wisdom or knowledge or even Godly comfort that this is a great show of worship to God.:)

Christ stated:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
That verse says more than I explain in 85 words.

To worship God is to be obedient, to humble ourselves before Him, to reverence Him as God, to take up our cross daily and follow Him, to pray to Him, to sing to Him, to glory in His prescence, etc.

Shouldn't we worship Him everyday? Isn't He worthy of all the praise, honor, and glory?

Bless you all.

To honor our God and creator is to give the sacrifice of praise. Of course it is not a sacrifice but a joy and a gift from Him to us.
What an amazing God we serve.
He made a way for sinners to spend eternity with Him and empowered us to live this life then made it a joy to serve Him.
Its a wonder everyone everywhere doesn't stop and just flat out break into praise everyday. My heart would stop the day I look outside - see the wonder He has made feel His love and don't worship Him.

Excellent, Dan. Good word. It is always response to instead of rules for. God is good.

Worship does not require a day. In fact there is no 'commandment' to worship. It is the automatic response to one's recognition of exactly what God has done to redeem us to Him. Worship can and should take place anytime, anywhere. When the heart understands the great mystery of God's Love it cannot help but worship.

Uh-oh. I prophesy that this one is going to turn into another law/sabbath vs grace/rest debate. Please, prove me wrong. I don't mind at all and will even concede that I am not a prophet if you do.
---Linda on 10/17/07

Obedience. Jesus says, "If you all love me, My commandments keep."

By prayer, music, and thanksgiving. Our happiest moments should be worshiping God, really adoring our Lord Jesus Christ, and having fellowship with the ever-blessed Spirit, forgetting our cares and totally fosusing on our Lord.

Wanting to know what a man's position was. I inquired of his friends, have you ever heard him say the Lord Jesus Christ? And several of his friends told me, he papers his conversation with reference to The Lord Jesus Christ all the time. And so I knew his position without actually talking to him.
