Where Is The Love

What does the world see here? Sorry to say but I see 'very little' LOVE here. Most are more interested in proving 'they're right' and someone else is wrong. The world offers that already. 'Where' is our love one for another????

hello, family even 'n the best of people we have moments...not up to our best. I truly believe lot goodfolk online here, pray for strength We have a challenge to show the love of God through our actions,to everyone who comes into our mists!Times can be difficult too..The lord still holds "his"hand and says come unto me all who heavy burden... Thanks!Moderator/ ELENA

God is love and contrary to opinion, Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 10, verse 34 saying "Think not that I have come to bring peace, but a sword." That sword divides those who dare to stand for the truth of the Word and those who compromise. It is the attitude or spirit we address the truth in. (Ephesians chapter 4, verse 15)

The world offers you plenty of love. You find it every day on your TV,(oodles of love on the food network) health club, golf course, baseball stadium, coffee house. Love, love, love.
Plenty of places for one worldly love.

If biblical answers, telling the truth in love, are giving you a pinch, reevaluate your definition of love, your preference might be more worldly love. That's easily found.
---Bob on 8/29/08

Great question jack, I agree with you as well as with Bro. Trey. We should be an encouragement to each other, with positive Biblical insights, but I do see a lot of judging, as well as offending going on in some of these blogs. We are God's people, and we are to show the love of God to each other as well as to the world. We should seek to build each other up, not tear each other down. There is enough of that going on in this world already. God Bless you Jack!
---Cynthia on 11/10/07

Thanks bro Trey. Of your love I never had any doubt. I must confess however that I was amazed at some of the responses from 'some' people. Off the wall comments like 'blogs are 'not' the place for love',"or the love at church is not real but only a facsimile. Considering that GOD 'is' LOVE, to me that's like saying God's 'not' welcome here.I believe if I were that person I'd be looking for another church.

Hey Jack,

Good Blog! As Christians we should pray before we write. We should ask ourselves, "Are we letting our light so shine?" (Matt 5:16)

It is one thing to defend the truth. It is another to use our liberty as a cloak of maliciousness (1 Pet 2:16).

Now if I could just remember this before I begin to write.

Lord bless you Jack.

I hope you know I love you brother!

Eloy:: on condemnation, your judgement,I hold little thought But This I say to you as Jesus said"let him who is without sin cast the first stone"like I said I have no axe to grind with you."Vengence is mine said the lord"There are some trees which bear no fruit, but are there for decoration or medicinal purposes.
---Emcee on 10/29/07

.emcee, I know of many evil people. Jesus says: Every good tree brings forward good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forward bad fruit. A good tree cannot bring forward bad fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forward good fruit. Therefore by their fruits you all will know them." You are not of Christ, for your tree disses Christ and the scriptures and we saints from God. And truly I Judge Righteous Judgment, even as the One Righteous Judge does Judge within me.
---Eloy on 10/29/07

.emcee, We saints are of God: he that knows God hears us, he that is not of God hears not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. He that is of God hears God's words: you all therefore hear not, because you all are not of God.
---Eloy on 10/29/07

Eloy::How & who do you know is evil,is that your call?God did say love your neighbour as yourself.Who therefore is your neighbour those who agree with you?or those who do not?where does God call on us to "judge righteous judgement"If they are righteous they need no judgement ,except by God.
---Emcee on 10/26/07

There are alot of false doctrines in the world, and we must divide the word of truth justly. Jesus said, love your enemies, but he did not say, love every one. Jesus did Not say, I love you evil people and continue in your evil, and I will continue to love you: By no means, instead he commanded them to Get right, else God's wrath and not his love abides on them and they will die in their sins. Jesus commands: "Judge righteous judgment".

---Emcee on 10/26/07

Hi Robin. I am searching. The more I learn of 'The Most High God', the deeper my drive and the more intense my passion to know more. When I read the Holy Bible I find myself captivated and a sense of 'life' and 'meaning' begins to well up in the deepest facets of my being. I get very excited. I do believe I am addicted to the God who calls Himself 'I AM'. He is everything I believed 'Greatness' should be and I never truly understood the concept of 'love' until I began to learn of his character.
---nicolette on 10/26/07

Adam and Nicolette, Of course, I agree with you. Our words are important and some words here do seem hateful, prideful, scornful, etc. But it is difficult to express feelings in just words. How something is said matters too and for this you need tone, expression, body language. Many times words are misunderstood because these other things cannot be put in letters. Some people really get caught up emotionally in these blogs. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't take any comment personally.
---robin8683 on 10/25/07

Love thy enemy ...do good to those who persecute you...God is Love.If this whole world truly had Perfect Love as God has perfect love.Sin could never have entered the world. If we were perfect in love,we would automatically obey every commandment of God without even trying. But we are imperfect sinful creatures in need of salvation. We should always strive to show Gods love to others, not just in words but in deeds.

robin:

"Sorry to say but I see 'very little' LOVE here."

Maybe you need to look closer. Love doesn't just come in the form of kindness, it can come in the form of discipline/correction also.

"Most are more interested in proving 'they're right' and someone else is wrong."

Sadly this is the case with many if not most Christians in online forums. But there are the few who really do care about giving a clearer Scriptural view of modern issues.

Nicolette - who is your god?
---Andrea on 10/25/07

Also, remember, Spiritual love is not the same as this mushy, soft love I fear you speak of. God is no softy either. He hates Sin. And we, as God's people are to love what God loves and hate what God hates. You are correct in your assessments of people trying to prove that they are correct. In order to understand the word of God, you need the Bible and the Person of the Holy Spirit for revelation into the word of God. Have a great day.+
---catherine on 10/25/07

Robin: Is it not your responsibility as a believer to show love at all times for the express purpose that the world around you will see your Messiah? How else will the world know who you are? The 'world' is not present at your church where you meet so that defeats the objective of the 3rd commandment your Messiah left you. I would imagine that this is the best forum to express the nature of your Messiah for ALL the world to see. What good is your love if it does not influence the 'loveless'?

Robin, may I ask you something? Your God puts significant emphasis on his words, right? Apparently there is so much power in them that everything he utters simply 'becomes'. He also puts great emphasis on man's words (by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned) Surely the words on this blog are not just 'responses' to ideas and thoughts then. Surely they have the power to influence and create perceptions - albeit loveless perceptions in the eyes of unbelievers?
---nicolette on 10/25/07

Seems that a person should be able to tell the difference between a Christian blog and one based on politics or sports.
---Dan1724 on 10/25/07

What I understand from your bible is that 'love' needs to be an extension of who you are. It should be so characteristic of you that you can't help yourself. Well, that is what I understand of Corinthians in your New Testament. It equates what love is and what it isn't with characteristics ie. is kindness, not envious, not egotistical, not arrogant, not defensive, not suspicious, is delighted by justice and truth (paraphrase). It's rather ingenious actually.
---Nicolette on 10/25/07

a person whom wants love must express love, for you get what you give, and you will reap what you sow. My Papa and I never honor any evil person, and I never put my pearls before swine.

Frank has an awesome answer. I wish to add that it is not love to sugarcoat the truth which is preferred by some. Remember the part in 1 cor13 that says love rejoices in the truth...some claim speaking the truth is unloving, although how it is spoken does make a difference.
---Christina on 10/24/07

jack8937: just because we argue doesn't mean we don't also love. I like this format because you get a chance to see what people are really thinking rather than the faades we wear at church. I only wish we could be as honest there. Instead, we smile and say "amen" to whatever we hear from the pulpit and each other. Is the primary Christian virtue agreeability? Or fluffiness? These conflicts are necessary to our growth. Let's embrace them instead of labeling them "sin".
---j._the_nomad on 10/24/07

Hopefully some looking will see that there is a reason to be skeptical of particular teachings. It is sad that so many see the discord. I don't know how to address false religions and not sound judgmental. Especially in 85 words or less.
I do pray for these people but I admit most times it seems useless. But with God all things are possible.

Blogs were not meant to replace your local Church.
There is no handshaking, slapping each other on the back or kicking the chair out from one another.
Blogs are a witnessing tool. Telling other penpal names how much we love them is a facsimile. I've prayed for some of these names that ended up having more than nine lives and all of those lives were in the imagination. No, I'd rather stick to the questions and forget all the details of imaginary lives.
---Bob on 10/23/07

These blogs are impersonal. We don't have a real relationship with each other. We are responding to ideas and thoughts not to people. Where is the love? It's at each gathering where Christ's brother's and sisters are. It is certainly at the house of worship where I meet.
---robin8683 on 10/22/07

Two cannot have warmth except they lie together, or walk in agreement. The love has waxed cold due to many that are not walking with the Lord nor lying in the same "marital bed" so to speak with Jesus. His Spirit will have no "communion" with pride and misteaching by a carnal mind or spirit of err. The word that is spiritually discerned is in love. Without discernment they can't tell they have no love. Even Job's comforters spoke the word, but from the wrong spirit.

The love is in 1Cor.13th CH. IT defines
what God's love is all about.
The first part is about the value of love.
The bottom part tells you what to look for.
Be prepared.

Robin, are you saved? Do you have proof that either you are or you are not?
---Doug on 10/22/07

jack, honestly.I BELIEVE THAT THE FLESH and satan, and the world have and always will affect us more than we would like to admitt.also there is a discription of men in the end days in scripture that says men will love themselves, and want to hear only what they wish more than truth.LOVE has become just a word in this world, sadly most don,t realize that true love as described in scripture is sacrificial.many react instead of following the word.

its hard not to be pesimistic today.love starts with loving God jack, only loving God as described in scripture, can and will enable you to love your neighbor.people seem somehow to think love is complicated, problem is we attach so many strings to our love.in this world seems only real love is the love of most parents.but remember your ability to love at all comes from God.

Catherine ... You condemn Jack for worrying that too many here are arguing about "right" and "wrong"
It seems that you would rather have people here going on about rights and wrongs than having discussions rooted in love.
The absence of love from so many contributors to these blogs is not a frivolous problem.
Love frivolous? Come off it Catherine!
---alan_of_UK on 10/20/07

As is most often the case with most subjects, some replys offer only condemnation, but also 'some few' will respond 'in love', as commanded by Jesus. To those who 'have ears to hear' I say thanks. For those who do NOT, I'll pray. The sad truth is, "scratch a hypocrite, find a Pharisee, scratch a Pharisee, and you'll find a judge. Calling someone's salvation into question only identifies 'what spirit' someone is 'of'.

It is certainly the apogee of conceit to declare from reading the comments on this website who is saved and who is not, having not met the writers in person, observed their behavior, or engaged them in private conversation.
---InimicusStultitiae on 10/19/07

Perhaps those who do not find any love on these blogs are looking at a reflection of themselves. Self-examination, while very rare, is very beneficial to all men. A man can be a Christian, and still have a hard heart.
---Mima on 10/19/07

Jack: Again you are losing your focus. People say things that don't really mean. You don't know who are saved and who are not on these type blogs. Everyone here is not saved or even pretend to be. I can read some of the posts and can tell the ones who are saved. If they are honest. I will miss a few because the saved look almost like the unsaved these days. You cannot tell sometimes. The love is here just keep looking and digging. You don't know what to look for.
---Robyn on 10/19/07

Another thing Jack: Many posts have touched me and softened my heart. My eyes were also opened to a little more truth. That's one example of the love flowing here.Only a true Christian can connect with another Christian. That is why our Spirits need to come alive and our flesh need to die..daily. For we walk by faith and not by sight. You need to grow spiritual eyes and then you can begin to see and understand spiritual things. God bless you.

Stop your grumbling. You are worrying about right and wrong when there are so much pain and afflictions being put on God's people all around this world. Are you suffering? Are you a true believer? We need to begin praying for on another on a regular basis. we need to be in prayer for each other that God would increase each ones wisdoms and knowledge to bring the blogs to a higher level. I agree, Jack. There is a lack of love, and too much one-upmanship. People may be speaking the Truth, but it is rarely said with Love here.
---Trish9863 on 10/18/07

Yes Jack: I often see words of hate, not anything of a love of any kind. How can one give love if they don't have a clue what it is? What if they have lived an entire lifetime of abuse? They get saved...yet they never heard any words of love in their entire life? Jack do you know how many people are in this world who do not know what that word even means? After salvation are we suppose to supernaturaly feel love? How do we? How can we give what we have never had?
---Whisper on 10/18/07

Love followed compassion right out the door, and depression followed jealously coming in through the door. People don't want to give up their time to help out others. They will put it off and keep putting it off thinking that someone else will see what needs done and let the other person handle it. This is what is wrong with the world today. Most people feel like if it isn't about them or if it don't benefit them in some way, they are wasting their time.

Biblical truth is love, it's not as wide as the world would like it. It never was and it never will be.
The truth is narrow.
Did your mother ever tell you to always tell the truth? Did she explain that if you told lies, you wouldn't be "feeling the 'love'", but guilt, more trouble. That in the end, if you stick with the truth, you'll never have to worry about covering your tracks, keeping up with lies that get bigger every time you tell them?
