To your 3 questions1God was the only one who knew the difference between good & evilGen3:5He made man good without sinto share His kingdom.Having known sin & disobedience throughSatan Man now has to STRIVE to overcome sin as The incarnate Jesus did.2 & 3 are self explainatory because it is through mercy, born from Above, we gain the graces for salvation,to be once more like Him & worthy iof Perfection as he originally desired.Be Perfect as your Heavenly Father is Perfect.

Bob:: Sorry I forgot to address this last post to you.Hope it helps sweep away some of the cobwebs. GOD Bless.
---Emcee on 11/6/07

The earliest Christian writers all taught that God became man in order to lift mankind up to Himself.

M.Cee, am I mormon? Absolutely not.

Let's take this apart without trying to pull one over anyone....

"If Jesus is the only one to perfect us.
Then I say to you why do we strive?"

Those I know in the RCC, do not talk that way about Jesus Christ and the Cross. They do understand the Cross and what happened on the Cross.

"why do we hope why seek His mercy?"

"why follow Him as He said why partake of Him as He advises.

"Ye are gods"
Psalm 82, John 10:30_39
John 10:41: "And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle:
but all things that John spake of this man were true."
---Nana on 10/30/07

Bob:: I really dont know, are you Mormon? Sorry,But this I do know, that Jesus came & humiliated himself as a man being God, he reached Perfection denied temptations beat the devil at his own game & told the rest of Humanity "Follow me"and "Be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect "he defies & demands this of each one of us who desires to share His kingdombeing as we are made to the image & likeness of God.If you have the intestinal fortitude then do it HIS WAY.
---Emcee on 10/30/07

M.Cee, I don't know of any RCC or Orthodox believer, that believes as you do.
Aren't you really telling us about Mormonism?
---Bob on 10/30/07

Satan said, "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God."
Scientology says this, Darwin says this.
Christianity is an outcast.
We are punished for believing that we are not to become God,
but the children of God and worship God and Him alone.
---Rebekah_Martin on 10/30/07

M.Cee, it is physically impossible for humankind to become gods. That includes OT saints, NT saints and all spiritual beings created by God.
I can see that you enjoy 'strawman arguments', but M.Cee, there is an 'anointing' to see truth from false.

Christina::If Jesus is the only one to perfect us.Then I say to you why do we strive?why do we hope why seek His mercy?why follow Him as He said why partake of Him as He advises? If we do not strive to show that we do not wish to associate ourselves with sin, how can we attain that degree of perfection whereby He will communicate with us?

There is none good but one, God:
Matthew 19:17

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. - Matthew 7:21-23
---Bob on 10/30/07

Emcee, true it is written Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is PERFECT, it is also written that it is IMPOSSIBLE for man to please God, so how to reconcile the two...must be looked at within the context of ALL of scripture, which shows plainly that Jesus , the only perfect one, is our perfection, is the one to perfect us.
---Christina on 10/30/07

BOB:"It is phyically impossible for creatured beings to become Gods"Are you calling God a liar. What about the saints men taken to Heaven?OT Jesus's words Follow me as a man he conquered sin. why cant you.I would consider that a defeatest attitude.why are people all over the world striving to attain salvation.that is the only way you can approach God on His footing of Holiness & His Mercy,Your obedience,Satan gained hell by Rebellion.
---Emcee on 10/29/07

Lucifer posed this question to himself and the other fallen angels.
Rebellion against God allowed them to make a choice and they fell.

It is physically impossible for created beings of any kind to become gods.

Only three can make that claim, The Father, The Son, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit.

Anyone else that believes you will become a god when you meet your God, your Creator, may fall like lightning.
---Bob on 10/29/07

Tim ::Surely you jest.Read genesis1:27--Who blew the candle out producing Evil & darkness? Now you have to work for it"Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is PERPECT"Nothing short of Perfection will gain you admittance to God's eternal city of Love peace & tranquility.

1 Corin, speaks of Spiritual love toward our fellow man, which we can forever grow in. But I have to tell you God does not have to love anyone. God does not have to save anyone. God does as God pleases. God is not this soft, mushy, person that so many people are trying to invent. He has different sides to Him. He also does not have to forgive anyone.>>>One day He actually said to me, "I don't feel like being that nice today".

God is love! All the qualities of I Corinthians chapter 13 are His characteristics. We will never exhaust the knowledge of God, because God is infinite and we, by nature of being created, are finite. However, God can and has given us everything possible for us, His children, to be like Him in character, but we will always be "creatures" that have been created by Him, and as such we can never be God, but glory to His holy name, we may reflect His wonderful qualities! annam4654

We could never be what the Father is, we are created beings and will never be self sustaining. Is it not enough for us to be as He is. That we allow ourselves, by the faith of His Son, to be conformed to the image or likeness of His Son. To become similar to Him in mindset and character. There can be only one God, yet, as He Himself has said "You are all gods, you are all children of the most high." Those of us who believe upon His name, He empowers to embrace our son-ship.
---josef on 10/27/07

tim, there is and always has been only one God.we are so sinful, and out of control it,s rather funny to think we could be. now he has sent his son that we might imulate many of his attributes, but it stops there.
---tom2 on 10/27/07

God is not a mean God. We will never understand why the Lord planned things the way He did, but I know that God is in control of everything. He is perfect and if God had meant for us to be gods, then He would have made us gods. When we get to Heaven, we will understand why God plans everything the way He did. We will understand why we went through the storms and trials that we have encountered through this journey that we are on. God is Love and He loves us with an everlasting love. God Bless!

We cause enough trouble just being human. God is merciful and wise.

No God isn't mean. There can only be one God. He made people to worship him, to praise him. Very few people do. But God does want us to be more like him, it is a struggle everyday to do that. I don't want God's job, because I couldn't stand the thoughts of someone cursing, taking the name in vain, or even hate me. Some do that and I want to strangle their necks for talking about God like they do.
---Rebecca_D on 10/26/07

Good is not only good, but perfect in every way.
He made us the way we are becuase He is perfect for His good pleasure.
---AG on 10/26/07

Tim:: God did make us to His image & likeness It was His expresss desire. You would have been, like a God, except for the great fall, satans interference.NOW you have to prove yourself to be worthy to live with God as he says "nothing defiled enters Heaven"but has shown us the way'Be perfect as your Heavenly father is perfect"these are not empty words but set to the tune of Actions.

God is the alpha and omega before Him there is no other nor will there be after Him.

There is one God and I don't want his job. Neither do you.
