Christians are being martyred as we speak.

In the US, it's difficult for many to think that martrydom can happen.
As many believe they will be lifted away before any hardships or persecutions hit.
Many say, Yes, Lord, I will give my life for you, but I don't know if they believe it's an actual reality. Some may have to pay that price, but I don't know if Christians in the US really think it could ever happen here.

Those martyrs during the Trib. are not the Chrurch. Why is it many of you insist on the Church having to go through the trib. in order that one must "prove" their loyalty to God? This is absurd. There are mnay ways one can and will suffer for God that does not include death. Many have already gone on to be with the Lord that have not died a violent death, but I still believe have doied for the faith.Rightly Divide the Word of truth and let scritpure interpret scripture.

**
I received this in an email today. The 2,000-year-old Church in Iraq faces extinction at the hands of Islamic extremists. **

Rita, I read web-sites that give daily updates about this very matter. It's against the rules to give links to other sites here, so I won't.

Suffice it to say there are not one but TWO churches in my city made up of Christians from Iraq.

I received this in an email today. The 2,000-year-old Church in Iraq faces extinction at the hands of Islamic extremists. Many of the militants have made clear that they seek to cleanse their country of Christians and Christianity. They tell the Christians, "Convert to Islam, leave or die." The militants are well on the way to succeeding in their aim, at least in the south and central areas, as Christians flee the restrictions, threats and violence imposed on them.

Christians have been martyred for centuries and this is still happening. In many muslim countries and in some Hindu countries Christianity is forbidden and the punishment is death, whether it is a local who converts or a missionary trying to reach the lost. The persecution of Christians is not a new thing and no-one is waiting for the tribulation for it to happen. It is very real NOW.

Christians will be subject to"martyrdom".Note the effort to enforce the worship of the image of the beast. REV 1:15 "and he had power to give life unto the image of he beast...and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beat TO BE KILLED."
V.10 tells us:"Fear none of the things though shalt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you in prison...and ye shall have tribulations (BUT) be though faithful
UNTO DEATH and I will give thee a crown of life. P.

You'd better believe it!!!! Most proponents of the Rapture before the Tribulation use the scripture "God has not appointed us to wrath," (partial)as their reason for believing the 'GREAT ESCAPE THEORY. Did God 'appoint' Paul,Peter,James, and the other disciples to be killed for their faith? YES HE DID!Sad to say that most Christians today believe they're so much more special than these.I know of none like that today, do you?

Moderator is correct. Christians have been, are being, and will be, martyred. Maybe even me and you and the rest of our fellow bloggers. Death, when it comes, will be like stepping through a door that you never hear shut behind you!!!!! I believe the Holy Spirit just gave me that last statement.

Why, Michelle! Jesus said that the disciple is not above the Master, and if they persecuted Him, what should we expect?

Therefore, of COURSE Christians have peace and safety and are going to go up in the Rapture before persecution starts.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape.
