Why Did God Create Us

Why did God create humanity in the first place, when He knew in advance that the vast majority of them would rebel against Him and be lost forever?

Rev.4:11 says, " ...for thy pleasure they are and were created". We were created to give God pleasure.
---Adetunji on 5/5/10

He created every human and everything for His glory. The saved, yes. The lost, yes. All for His glory. That's it!

Why were we created?
Re4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Only a few in heaven??? I don't think so!

Re7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands,
Re7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

To Whosoever has an ear to hear?....Continued

2)....a farmer knows all of his seeds sown, will not rise up with the harvest, but he also knows that there will NEVER be a harvest to speak of, if he doesn't sow all his seeds with hopeful & attentive love.

In John 9:2-3 the disciples wondered who was at fault, the man or his parents, for his blindness from birth. Christ told the disciples "Neither", but so the works of God (Love, Mercy & Forgiveness) should be made manifest in him.

Everything has a purpose & a reason that shall manifest somewhere in creation. A miracle would never have been known as a miracle if no one was ever in need of a miracle and the same goes for God's Love, Mercy or Forgiveness.

Isaiah 43:7
Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him, yea, I have made him.

To Whosoever has an ear to hear?

I answered the first half of this question on 11/9/07 and will now answer the latter half!

???? When He knew in advance that the vast majority of them would rebel against Him and be lost forever????

In 1 Cor. 15:36-37 Paul states The body which is sown isn't the body which shall be raised up....and that nothing is quickened except it die.

God knew that His creation must endure being sown, into what is called "the fall of man", in order to be quickened & raises-up into glory.

God created people to have intimate relationship with, and to build His Kingdom on Earth. We are an extention of God, and made in His image and likeness.
---Leslie on 10/6/08

To make a definitive choice.

God Peace.

god created some of us to worship him. he created some of us to be tortured by him. I do believe in god but after being fooled by god so many times, i will hate him for the rest of my life .. haha
---pato on 11/11/07

Why do men exalt their finite "brilliance" over God's infinite intelligence?

Lucifer did the same thing, he fell.
Men do the same thing, they will fall.

God gave us a choice to love and obey Him, with our own will. Jesus Christ has a free will, angels have a free will, humans have a free will. God is all knowing, He created a man that would love Him back out of their own free will.

Ryan_Z:

I find it difficult to be thankful to God for deliberately creating billions of people, knowing full well, in advance, that they will be going to hell.
---StrongAxe on 11/11/07

God created us so we could worship him. God knew that there would be a number of people who would not worship him. He knew that Adam and Eve would sin and eat off of the forbidden tree, why do you think he planted it?
---Rebecca_D on 11/10/07

God created us for his glory and also because he wanted someone to worship him that would do it on their own free will. He has the angels to worship him- he doesn't need the worship. He wants the intimacy with us and the relationship that comes when we lay it all down before him and completely surrender. This is worship and it is what he longs for with us. Read the Song of Soloman and you will find out why we were created.

Blessings John, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created(Rev. 4:11) Man then was created to demonstrate the glory of God and to fellowship with the God of glory. God Bless!

#-1-Deep question, We, you and I, were some kind of entity before we were human, because in Jeremiah 1:5 the Bible says," Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee" the form he formed you in is human Of course but he knew you before, he formed you into a human.
One plausible scenario would be, that you were an entity without choice, you were an entity he could not pour out his blessings and flavors upon.
---Mima on 11/10/07

#-2-desiring to have an entity that he could bless and favor He decided to make us human and not roboic. In order to fulfill his desire He gave us,you and me free choice, free will. When I came to this realization. I sought the Lord in prayer about accepting my free choice and free will as desiring him. By his own words he has done so, by my behavioral change He has proved himself to me.
---Mima on 11/10/07

well, why did God create satan ,and all the angels that would rebel?why do people have children when they know they will rebel?scripture tells us that Gods ways, aka thoughts, aka nature is known to us through his word, but is really beyond our comprehension.LOVE is the basis for Gods motives in how he deals with usjust as good parents, because they love their children will do almost anything for them. except God will be righteous and just in all of his actions.we as humans may not,but thats our choice.
---tom2 on 11/10/07

Revelation 4:11 says that He created us for His pleasure. Beyond that coupled with how we suppose His characture to be from what we know of Him from the bible and first hand experience encounters with him, it is quite impossible to second guess why our most awesome creator does/did anything. We can confidently say it is good because He is good. Making us for His "pleasure" is a good enough reason.

Some would not agree with you Lisa ... they would say that the vast majority of humanity was created to be rejected by God, and to be cast into the fiery lake.
Only those who are saved will g,orify Him, and the predestionalists say that they are chosen and cannot choose.
So the rest are deliberately not chosen. How that must please God and "make Him happy"!

Lisa, thanks for your response. Bless you. Just curious, are you affiliated with the SSPX?

God created humans to have a relationship with them (not a religion). He also created humans to be kings in His kingdom on Earth.

We were created to Glorify God....To serve Him.
For His purpose. In His image. A reflection of Himself.
To make Him happy. To Love Him as He loves us.
Thank you God!

Ryan, you are trying to guess what my motive is in asking the question. I suppose you have the right to do that. But you may make incorrect guesses. Blessings to you, and thanks for your responses thus far.

Kraus, interesting thought. Thanks!
---John1944 on 11/9/07

Well, John, maybe in simpler terms > God wanted to have children like Jesus, so He made man so He could adopt ones of us to become like His Son Jesus.

Of course, there would be the ones who would refuse. God knew this, but why let evil people keep Him from doing what is good?

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21)

We humans, not God, allow evil to decide if we will set out to do good or not. We need to follow God's example (o:

this is a good question and i dont think anyone can really know for sure but we as His children do the same things. why do we get married when half end in divorce and all love grows cold at one time or another? we know bad stuff happens in life but at some point you can either end it all or decide you will take the good with the bad. mabey God is the same way. he hates the evil and rebelion that His creation has made but the good ones make it all worthwhile.
---Kraus on 11/9/07

John1944, I do not think it is foolish to ask "big questions" of God. I do think it is unwise to dwell on them. Ask your questions, pray, fast and seek God's cousel, but be patient about receiving an answer. Too many times people drive themselves nuts asking a "big question" not awaiting a reply, then they get frustrated and mad at God. That is why I say the important thing is not the question, but rather the persons mind/attitude.

(2) There is "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (in Ephesians 2:2) > this would be Satan's spirit selfish and nasty and violating humans with cruelly stupid emotions. God has this spirit of evil organized in a sewer system, for transporting it away from us who will be on the new earth. Many humans are volunteering to be buckets for carrying Satan's filth to the flaming sewer which burns with fire and brimstone. They are doing us a big favor, so be good to them.
---Bill_bila5659 on 11/9/07

(1) Before creation, our Father was so pleased with His Son, that He couldn't "eat just one peanut". So, He has created us humans, so He can convert ones of us to be pleasing to Him like His Son Jesus, and it says, "as He is, so are we in this world," in 1 John 4:17. Jesus is so pleasing, and so are God's obedient children (Colossians 3:15, 2 Corinthians 2:14-15). So, the ones whom He saves are enough to satisfy Him, but we need a lot more humans to do the other job > > >

John1944
So that he may interact with & experience all the love of creation (who He is) through us and to live within us. As we praise and worship Him we as well get to interact with & experience all that God is and abide in love (the Love of God).
