If everything hinges on faith or no faith in God, how do we stir up the mustard seed in those who are atheists?

You know, I think about the apostle Paul a lot. How he hunted down and killed Christians before he was converted. Sometimes those converted from the most strident unbelief, become the most powerful evangelists.

We are called to be in the world, but not of it. If you spend time with non-believers, make sure your center is in the Church. Go often, become a part of the Christian community. This will give you strength and courage and the conviction of Christ.

There is an old saying that "there are no atheists in foxholes." Look at the theif on the cross, maybe not an atheists, but rejected God till he met Him. We can never give up. Give it to God to Guide. I have many former atheists, agnostic, new age friends etc. that through long periods of time came to recognize God.

When is it too late for the atheist?
If they have blasphemed the Holy Spirit, is it over?
Where do you draw the line with the atheist?
When the atheist is more intent on leading others to hell with him, when does the believer depart from his bad company, not letting his blasphemous mouth corrupt or make an inroad into your own heart?
Should the believer walk off from the atheist?

After years of striving with the atheist - when is enough, enough?
We cannot are not the Holy Ghost and this person has rejected the Holy Ghost.
At what point does the believer recognize that the atheist is too far gone and move on?

If this is your friend, I would never give up. Don't be too forceful.

2 verses for you:

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
It takes God for one to believe.

Mr 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Tell him what God has done for you.

Chad this blasphemy that you have mentioned is the ONLY sin that will never be forgiven not in this life or the next, in this case you can quit while you are ahead, their fate has been sealed.

If the atheist has spent 30 years of his life, blasting the bible and blaspheming the Holy Spirit, his revelations haven't changed in 30 years - is it already too late for the atheist?

You must fast and pray, and do spiritual battle, because you wrestle not against flesh and blood ....EPHESIANS 6. War for their soul. And TAKE YOUR SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY.

Blessings chad, does an athiest have a "mustard of faith?" All you can do is share the good news of the Gospel with them, if they will listen to you and have Faith that the Holy Spirit will open their eyes with an understanding of the message of the Gospel. Defintely keep them in Prayer and do not give up on them. I do not mean cram it down their throat, but let the love of Christ flow through you to them. God Bless!

I like to prove to an announced atheist that he believes in God. I do this by asking him if he ever cusses(take God's name in vain) invariably he will say yes. OK, I say, you do not say Betty dam or Paul dam no you use the name of God, and thereby confirm that God exists and destroy your confessed atheism. So there is a God that you are just a unbeliever, case closed.
