Falling from grace means that a person has backslidden and lost their first love which is Jesus Christ. Read Revelation 2:4-5 it tells us that God is somewhat against the person leaving him and fall back into sin. And in order for them to come back to Christ, they must first repent and start all over again. Do their first works over. A person can get saved only once.

The Bible states......MY SPIRIT will not always strive with a man.

I personally believe that the term means backliding but there are churches who use the term to mean 'lost'. They teach that one can backslide so badly that they are now irredeemable. If it is possible to backslide so badly that God casts us out then how can anyone be absolutely sure that they are safe/saved? None of us know what the future holds or what temptations might be put before us and how we will react to them.

Hey Cynthia, (continued)

Paul states that he is shocked that they have turned to another gospel which is not the gospel-Gal 1:6 & 7. Despite what many here believe, salvation is by grace - Eph. 2:8.

Lord bless you,

Hey Cynthia,

The Apostle Paul is speaking to the Galatians when he makes this statement.
(My sister-in-law, who is Church of Christ believes this statement to mean that they have lost their salvation.)

What Paul means is that they have left trusting in Christ for their salvation and have turned to a works system for salvation. (Most Christians today believe in salvation by works whether they know it or not.)

Only if you have blasphemied the Holy Spirit by turning to a false religion permanently. That would be to re-crucify Christ and to call the Holy Spirit/unholy. Falling from grace simply means to rely on the law rather than what Jesus did on the cross and resurection. One can repent from this if he becomes aware of it.

Well, Cynthia, Paul told those Galatians, "You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law, you have fallen from grace." (Galatians 5:4) He tells them they have fallen from grace, but then tells them what they need to do. So, it looks like they can get back on their feet and learn to walk with Jesus (o: So, I'd say they have not totally and irreversibly lost their salvation. But if they disobey this, "Christ will profit you nothing" (Galatians 5:2)

People are so concerned about if and how they could lose their salvation. Well, if you are with your loving and very good Daddy, are you going to ask him how you might lose being his daughter? Or, are you going to be thinking about him and enjoying His love (o: I think if we are relating in love and obedience with our Groom, we won't be thinking and asking how we might lose Him. But it "might" be good to talk and make sure about what we need to make sure our marriage will last.
