God the Father said, "This is my son in whom I am well pleased." I think that is a pretty good picture of God's character expectation. Be more like Jesus, he cares.

There is look them Up. Start with the word integrity. God does not care one ioder about your comfort. Good character [godly] the kind that God looks at is no where today. So few people have it till it stinks. You can have it, if you are willing to put everything a side and let God make you.

If you don't have good character you won't be comfortable. People with bad character don't get anywhere in ministry or in life in general. They can't keep a job or a family and are addictive in behavior.
Yes, God is concerned about character. He tell us many times to have good morals, patience, behaviors, thoughts, and actions. People bad character have none of these.

I definitely think God is more concerned about our character. I searched for a scripture that I thought was in James, but couldn't find it. Can anyone help? It's the one that tells us (paraphrasing) to perservere in trials for it builds character, which brings hope, and hope never disappoints. The scripture says it so much better than I just did, but hopefully someone can find that for us.

Just off the top of my head, don't know where in Bible, let me say this scripture I remembered, A good name is rather to be chosen then great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

The character of a man can be defined by his moral or ethical quality: The Father has much to say, through scripture, about the integrity man embraces and exercises. Psa. 15:1>24:3>Isa.33:15>Mal.2:6>Acts 24:16>Luke 3:13 are a few verses that come to mind. My favorites include Prov.21:3 "To do justice and judgement is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice" Acts 24:16 "Herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men."

The way I understand it, God doesn't give a hoot about good character, because those most likely to go to heaven are aborted babies, who have developed no character at all.

I've heard it said: Sow [plant] a thought, reap an act -- Sow an act, reap a habit -- Sow a habit, reap a character -- Sow a character --reap your destiny. The Bible says, we reap what we sow. (Gal. 6:1-9)

I believe God is "so" much more concerned with our conversion (redemption, salvation, Christ-like character) than with our being comfortable. In this life we certainly have tribulations (discomforts). (Jn. 16:33)

God is concerned with the amount of fruit of the Holy Spirit that we develop in our lives. "You shall know them by their fruit." What do you mean by comfort vs. character? Our character should be developed into His character. Are you hurting over something? May I pray for you? God comforts us if we ask Him to. If we are hurting, how can we focus on developing character? Focus on Healing, touch the hem of His garment, cry out to Him and ask Him to heal the hurt you are feeling, if you are.
