In remebering on what I have studied. When Jesus was walking on this earth He healed for a lot of reasons. One being to prove where He came from And who He is. Another one would be just so they might believe on Him. Some did and some didn't. Today, God works differently. Sometimes healings are instant sometimes not. Can't put God in a box. Such a mistake to do so. Healings are not God's top priority. God wants His people to trust Him.

It happens everyday. He told peter, because you have seen, you have believed.BLESSED ARE THOSE THAT HAVE NOT SEEN,AND YET HAVE
BELIEVED.
---Jack_8773 on 1/6/08

It does happen right now today.Sometimes in the Bible people recieved things in the same hour- not instantly.some healings are instant. We change, our belief and faith changes, but Jesus never changes."Jesus Christ, the SAME yesterday, today, and forever. If He did it then, He'll do it now!

Jack ... #4 Others at the same time recovered from cancer through the careful application, by man, of chemotherapy. Again, no sudden "miracle", but healing by man using God-given knowledge and skills
---alan_of_UK on 12/30/07

Jack ... #5 .When I said "I do know that God heals millions, through men, although some here doubt or deny that" I was referring to healing through medical treatment, and to the fact that some here say that sort of healing by medics (particularly in the mental field), is invalid and even satanic, and that real healing can only come through direct intervention by God.
That is a false and limiting understanding of the way God works
---alan_of_UK on 12/30/07

Jack ... "In other words, Alan, of the masses of milllions, you can't give any particular examples of a miraculous healing"
you are right, I have not.
But that is not to say that those millions were not healed by the use, by men, of God-given medical skills.
I did not mean to give the impression that I had seen such "miraculous" healing by man.
I have had experience of a non-christian (even non-religious) man giving "healing", but it was clear it was phoney
---alan_of_UK on 12/30/07

Jack ... #1 I am sorry I have been away and only just seen your reply.
The operative words in my answer were "through the skills that He has given men" The medics have been given knowledge and skills by God ... and they use them and medication & operations. People are healed thereby
By "miracle" people expect sudden unexplained healing and recovery ... that sometimes happens I have no doubt, but I have not seen any.
---alan_of_UK on 12/30/07

Jack ... #2 My own healing from mental illness was through the medics and counsellors ... not a sudden "miracle" but surely as a result of God given skills?
---alan_of_UK on 12/30/07

Jack ... #3 My wife died of cancer.
The "healers" called for and demanded a miracle healing ... but that did not happen.
What did happen was the miracle of gracious acceptance, a loving farewell to us, and a knowledge that she was going forward to something much better.
And, the doctors used God given skills to reduce the physical pain in the lest days

**I don't doubt the thousands that Whisper says, but I don't know any myself.
I do know that God heals millions, through men, although some here doubt or deny that.**

In other words, Alan, of the masses of milllions, you can't give any particular examples of a miraculous healing.

Do I understand you correctly?
---Jack on 12/15/07

Jack ... You misunderstood what I was saying
Whisper said ""Masses of peoples are getting healed today, THE MASSES, by the thousands"
I responded with "No ... Masses of peoples are getting healed today, THE MASSES, by the millions. The vast majority of them by God, through the skills that He has given men"
I don't doubt the thousands that Whisper says, but I don't know any myself.
I do know that God heals millions, through men, although some here doubt or deny that.

**Yes I myself have been healed of a REAL disease, my body repaired and and my mind mended by human doctors using skills given to them by God, and I know many more.
...
I do not know personally any who have been so healed without man being used as God's tool.**

I'm not doubting that God works through either natural or supernatural means.

I was referring to (and I thought you meant) a sudden miraculous healing without medical intervention.

Do you know of any among these millions?
---Jack on 12/13/07

Jack ... Yes I myself have been healed of a REAL disease, my body repaired and and my mind mended by human doctors using skills given to them by God, and I know many more.
I'm just one of the millions, and I have contributed towards the forthcoming eradication of polio, and the stupendous efforts made to prevent river blindness.
All done by physical things done by men, using God given skills and knowledge.
I do not know personally any who have been so healed without man being used as God's tool.
---alan_of_UK on 12/11/07

It has been my observation as well as others, that those 'healed' particularly in an emotionally charged atmosphere, simply do not stay healed. They may dance around after getting out of their wheelchairs, but a few days later they are back in their wheelchairs having been told that their faith was simply not strong enough for a permanent cure.

The healing ministries are full of quacks & con artists. BEWARE OF PHONIES PEDDLING RELIGIOUS CURES.

** Whisper "Masses of peoples are getting healed today, THE MASSES, by the thousands"
No ... Masses of peoples are getting healed today, THE MASSES, by the millions.
The vast majority of them by God, through the skills that He has given men.**

Alan, do you or Whisper personally know any one among these masses who were cured of a REAL disease, and not just passing sniffles or momentary headache?

Jesus does NOT heal.

It's the Father that does the healing. How many times did Jesus ask the Father first? It's your belief in the Father that heals. Remember the women who touched the hem of Jesus' clothing?

Besides, Christians today have the power to do greater things than Jesus and that includes instant healing. But we lack faith in today's world. We lack confidence in our belief. How many times have you seen a crippled child thinking "I wish I can heal her" but you didn't.
---Steveng on 12/7/07

Todays Christians just don't have the faith Christians had one hundred years ago. In fact, it's almost nonexistant.

God's timing is perfect. Recall how he told the ten to go wash in the pool of siloam? They were not healed right away, but instead as they went on their way they received their healing. Some are healed right away, and some are healed afterward, and some never get healed because they are living in sin and disobedience or they have no faith.
---Eloy on 12/7/07

Those who have experienced the healings of the Lord know it still happens.
Even though others mock it.
Healing of the soul is more important.
What good does it do to have your body healed and go to hell?
On the other hand a healing can bring others to Christ.

During laying on of hands, a friend gave me an interesting revelation. He stated that God heals for His glorification. We must be willing to testify to His power. We must glorify Him. That is part of the healing process. It works.

Oopsies,

If you have little faith, don't bother praying the prayer of faith over someone else.

If you don't have little faith that your prayer will be answered, don't lay your hands on someone.

When hands are laid on the altar, lifting up the prayers, if one person does not lift, with faith, it is dead weight. It makes it it difficult for others to lift up prayers, with faith, if there is one doubting, unbelieving, or skeptical person in the mix.
The prayer of faith with the agreement of others can lift the prayer above the ground, not hitting the ceiling - but rising to God's ears.
---lovable_linda on 12/5/07

It should be said that not everyone has the gift of faith. The gift of faith, as with all gifts of the Holy Spirit, belong to God.

Your pastor is negating the prayer of faith by placing stipulations on how it will be answered, or rather than losing face, has made allowances for himself in case the prayer is never answered.
---lovable_linda on 12/5/07

I believe I asked this question incorrectly. I can tell by your answers. I apologize for that. I KNOW Jesus heals today. My mother was healed of a very rare muscle disease. I sit under a Pastor who tells people you have to wait for the manifestation of your healing. This is said after he prays for someone. So would it be correct to say that people who have the GIFT of healing, those are the ones who should be laying hands on the sick and they shall recover, and the healing manifests right then and there.
---Donna on 12/5/07

Our prayers and our healing are always answered by God. However God's time is not ours. He answers on His time.
As one who has been healed by God not once, but twice, I know He still Heals and does miracles. In Jesus time He had to prove who He really was, today we should already know.

God is the same YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER, HE NEVER CHANGES......We do not serve a dead God. Masses of peoples are getting healed today, THE MASSES, by the thousands. Because of lack of FORGIVENESS, AND BITTERNESS, many do not receive their healing until they go to the person and ask forgiveness for offenses, then they are immediately healed.
---Whisper on 12/5/07

As a person who has experienced healing from the Lord I am certain that the Lord is healing today.
---Mima on 12/5/07

Of course Jesus heals today, after all,He is the same yesterday, today and forever. As for instant healings, I believeit hasmore to do with the condition of the church and individuals today. Where the church is onfire for the Lord (Spirit filled) these things are commonplace. China, where there is great persecution is just 1 example.

Jesus says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (in Matthew 6:33) If I do what You mean by this, how You bless me to obey, You will add whatever healing comes with seeking You first. And I trust You to know what that means to You. Most of all...greater than any bodilly healing...I am healed together with You in Your own love...better and better.

Theres a lot that wish that they could
They want to be more than they are.
But the time has come, that the Wolf can not longer hide among the sheep.

Because people back then had the faith of a grain of mustard seed, most of us today don't have that kind of faith and belief that the lord will really heal us.And that lack of faith is why we don't get healed.

Jesus put back the soldier's ear that Peter cut off.
BUt God lets men reunite the limbs and parts that become severed nowadays. And He gives them the skill to do it.
Same applies to mental conditions which are just as physical as visible injuries

There are two different types of physical restoration. One is healing which is usually a process that can occur over a period of time, the other is miracles which occured instantly. Jesus performed miracles in the Bible and it is still up to God to give us what He wants us to receive, but there are still both in operation today.
---Darlene_1 on 12/4/07

What is your mental attitude? Do you expect God to heal you? Have you made any effort in that direction on your own? Example, if your foot is injured are you trying to walk on it? In prayer, ask God to help your unbelief, your trust, ask God to push you over the edge of doubt and into the waters of faith and trust. God's manifestations flower in an atmosphere of belief.
---Mima on 12/4/07

I believe he still heals. I have NF1. When I was 11, I had what was believed to be a seizure. I was in the hospital for 3 days. No cause was found, (they assumed a possible brain tumour). Our pastor came to pray for me. He also prayed for a tumour on my left optic nerve. I had been told there was a tumour there, and I'd be blind in that eye someday. There is nothing on my optic nerve but some calcification, I found out last year. Nothing that hinders my vision. This isn't misdiagnosis. Jesus still heals.

That's some mentalcostal/charismaniac double talk. When Jesus heals, it's instantaneous.

And He still heals today, though not on demand.

As it is said of Aslan, "He's a good lion, NOT a tame lion."

I still believe Jesus is healing today, but some people take the credit for themselves or by other people instead of Jesus doing it all together. I know Jesus healed me from my depression and I give him the credit that he deserves and nobody else.
