God relates to my spirit through 7 different avenues of communication that confirm His existence and my calling and Apostleship of His eternalGodhead. |

God does not play games.
God does not simply call out names just for the sake of calling your name. If He did call you it would be for a task for you to perform or a message for you to deliver to the world, to a city, or to a person. If He did talk to you, you would know it immediately and for sure it was God and wouldn't wonder if it was from God or if you are imagining it. |

Hi Mima. I am also interested why I heard God's voice! My life is less than godly. However, the Word seems to indicate that this kind of communication is characteristic of God. "Abraham, Abraham" God called just before He established an everlasting covenant. "Moses, Moses" God called just before sending him to lead His people. He did it with Samuel too. Has God chosen me to change the world? Unlikely. MAYBE there is something He purposed me for that MUST get done. Just maybe. |

A large percentage of my clients hear their name being called. (I am a psyciatric nurse.) Some think it is God speaking, some the devil, some a dead relative... Usually antipsychotic medications stop the voices. |

God speaks to me in many ways. Sometimes a small still voice speaks in scripture verses. Sometimes He speaks using words of today. Sometimes He uses people to give me a message. |

I'm very interested in the answer given by---Nicolette. My wife had a experience of hearing her name called on two different occasions. I find this very intriguing. |

Hello.
I know this will sound crazy but here goes!
I have heard Him speak to me with an audible voice twice. Each instant was months apart and both times He simply called my name. That was years ago. At first I thought I was delusional but I recently realised that it was Him by a confirmation I received through the Word. Now I recall that after each instant I heard Him call my name, my life altered DRASTICALLY. Don't know if I will ever hear Him that way again but I sure do long for it. |

Halleluiah, Shirley ! ! I've heard "thoughts" in my mind, did not understand what they meant...then, years later, things would develop in my life and after that I would be reminded of the thought and get, "This is what that meant, I told you so." (o: What He means is what He will bring to pass with us. This is so with His word > only the grace of His love working in us can get us to do all You really mean by Your word > "lean not on your own understanding" (in Proverbs 3:5). |

Often He uses Scriptures but many times it is a spiritual prompting and sometimes a dream or vision. Often it is a prophecy given by total strangers. On a couple of occasions I have heard an audible voice. There isn't a one way that the Lord gets His message across to me. |

He speaks to me both ways.Somtimes HE quotes scripture like the 1st.Psalm.I didn't know where it was located in the Bible when HE quoted it to me.I had to look in the Bible to find it.He didn't tell me which book in the Bible it was in either. When I was attacked by a vicious dog.He told me to turn around to face it and I did and the dog began to tremble turned tail and ran.Once I had the green light and HE said 1 word stop.I would have been in an accident. So the answer is HE can speak to you either way. |

First and foremost thru His written word. |

Sometimes I think I can hear him talk to me in "my talk", but it's wonderful to have the scriptures nearby to be able to test those words to be truth or flesh. |

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. |
