|

Read your bible people. Yes we are to vote and exercise our civic duty. We do have rights as citizens. We are not just christians we are citizens of states, countries and have a duty to perform. You can read Romans chapter 13 also. |

YES! We Saints should absolutely vote! Pray for Wisdom when doing so. We Saints will need 100% of Wisdom this year for there is NOT much to choose from! We need to vote for who GOD wants us to vote for, EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE THE CANDIDATE WILL NEVER WIN! Do it just out of OBEDIENCE to the Lord GOD YAHUVEH, for each of us Saints will answer to GOD who we voted for. Even if the candidate never had a big chance of winning! Godliness and Holiness in a person are NEVER POPULAR with the majority of the world! |

God is in control. You should definately always try to make the world a better place, but the bible also says the world will wax worse, which is exactly what will happen if Hillary get's it. lol |

It is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote and vote for leaders who promote Christian principles.God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further His will. We are commanded to pray for our leaders in 1st Timothy 2:1-4.This passage also describes Gods desire that all men would be saved. The fact that so many die without knowing Christ is just one proof that not everything that happens is something God wants to happen. |

Actually, I don't agree with compulsory voting. If someone doesn't want to vote, then his vote is not worth counting. And far too many people vote based on image or TV soundbites rather than careful analysis of policy. |

God put us here to serve Him. So yes we had better vote. And vote for the right person. You may ask how do I know? Wait until you get in the booth and ask Him. Can not make a mistake. You must not make a mistake. God's will shall be done. |

I wish we (in U.K.) had compulsory voting. The turn-out here is abysmal, less than 40% usually I believe. Immediately after every election, whether local or national, people start grumbling about those who became M.P.s or councillors, but when you ask if they voted they say "No I couldn't be bothered, they are all the same anyway." Christians should set the example and vote. The only time they should not is when they cannot, due to illness or being out of the country. |

If God is in control then we wouldn't have a choice. Yes, God knows what is going to happen, but the King of this world, (Satan), is in control and controling the leaders. So, what good is it to vote? Are not all of them going to hell anyway? |

If a Christian finds themself living in a country where they have the right to vote, they should see that freedom as a blessing and a gift from God. Politics should never become the focus or top priority of our life (our relationship with Christ should be) however the Bible teaches extensively about law and government, so obviously God wants us involved. |

In Australia, there is compulsory voting, so Christians should vote as they are to obey they law of the land (Rom. 13).
In other places with voluntary voting, Christians should vote too. Christians who think they are sinning if they vote for an imperfect candidate should remember that there are sins of omission as well as sins of commission. Not voting is still an active choice that has consequences, e.g. the election of a Democrat who supports partial birth abortion and gay marriage ... |

"God is in control" seems to be more of a slogan with that crowd rather than deep theology. God was in control when Hitler took control of Germany and wiped out 6 million Jews. So God's control doesn't always mean what that crowd thinks! Sometimes He allows evil to flourish to teach us lessons. He could allow a godless Democrat to win to jolt Christians out of their pathetic apathy. |

L.L ... You are right of course. But the "God is in control" crowd are quite restrictive in the way they apply their principle. They seem to accept the results of men's thinking when it come to medical matters, transport and AC, etc, But they don't want us to think when it comes to understanding God's world. |

Throughout biblical history, God has many times used humans to do His will. He hasn't stopped. One way to do this in present time is to vote. (In an intelligent manner - like know the facts of the issue.) |

Since God is in control, you could stay in bed, watch TV day in and day out, hope that the laundry and dishes will take care of themselves, the bills will pay themselves, and groceries miraculously show up in the cupboards. Apathy and indifference are a way of life, but should we fiddle while Rome burns? |

Yes, as a citizen, we should vote. How can God's will be done if the Holy Spirit is taken out of the equation. God, through HIS people, puts the leaders in office in America. |
|
---Trish9863 on 1/5/08 |
Why would God have us vote? He wants us to care about what happens because of who gets into office. God is caring, He wants us to care, too, and do what we can to help make things good...to have hope that we can help. I vote in prayer, trusting God for how He will take care of things > "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7) Cast your ballots, yes, but cast your care with hope where your hope belongs. |

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |

Matthew Gods Will is done through Divinely Lead People. So if you feel inspired by the Holy Spirit to vote, then by all means VOTE? |
