1st-Asking God for a sign is to tempt God - which the Bible says NOT to do. 2nd-Asking God for a sign shows lack of faith, and without faith you cannot please God. 3rd-Asking for signs the Bibles says NOT to do, because God says you will be cursed for doing so. |

Ask God Almighty for signs??? ...Jesus told mankind His only sign that He was the Messiah would be 3 days and 3 nights in the grave
Asking God Almighty for signs reduces HIM to a puppet ...God's signs are contained in His Word ...1/3 of the Bible is prophecy ...seeking signs by God would be unwise as many "signs" can be delivered but with which spirit? Satan is a master of signs too... |

You can if you so choose to do that but don't be disappointed, if you don't receive what you asked for. God is not in the bargaining or magic business. He is our loving Father who only wants the best for us. It is according to His will not Ours! We don't always know what we need or want. God does. He always gives us what we truly need not our greeds/wants. |

It is not being as a child, for one thing. God simply will not do it, is another one.. It is a sure sign that you are a doubter. You pharisee. |

We are told to walk by faith, not by sight. 2nd Cor 5:7.
Christ said: Mt 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
Remember: Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Trust in the Lord's providential hand. (Jer. 29:11)
Lord bless you, |

Each of us is uniquely and wonderfully made. Each of us has our own relationship with God. God knows us better than we know ourselves. God is giving us signs of His wonderful love and power constantly. Don't be intimidated by what any person says. Simply speak to God, who lovingly hears your every thought. God's perfection will show you the truth.
God did not finish speaking 2000 years ago. God is just as alive now, and will be for all eternity. |

Many times people who participate in prayer lines are only looking for a sign. They call it a touch of God. It is for this reason, and I quit having prayer lines. When I feel and/or see a manifestation of the Holy Spirit many times I ask another person, do you feel or see the manifestation? Invariably the Holy Spirit filled people say YES!! Those who are not spirit filled say wel, I really don't feel anything? I leave you to draw your own conclusions. |

Here is a truth. Sometimes when the moderators of this blog write their opinions to something I can literally sense the Holy Spirit speaking through them. Question, Do other people have similar experiences with this blog? |

God has already spoken and His words have been miraculously kept for us down through the ages. Now we have Scripture and we need no further signs to validate the Bible. In His perfect Word is everything we need (2 Timothy 3:16).A more sure Word of prophecy to which we would do well to take heed(2 Peter 1:19).We need nothing more and we are not to seek extra-biblical revelations. To do so calls into question the efficacy of Scripture which God has declared to be sufficient. |

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: Matthew 12 38-39 We should just trust God and if we believe we have the Spirit then dont worry. |

As Christians when we pray we should be expecting results(signs amd wonders). When I pray and do not get the results that I have prayed for it is my contention that I pray outside of the will of God!! |

Once while praying the Holy Spirit told me to get up and go to certain filling station. As I got up I said I would like to ask the Lord for a sign that I had heard right but I hesitated to do so. When the Holy Spirit said, don't worry about me. I am equal to any test!! |

I am also not sure that it is wrong. I do not call it a sign. I believe that I use the word power. Show me your power. |

SUE:Only those with a lack of belief asks for a sign.A child of God Trusts & Follows.Jn5:24-Jn6 29-40. A sign means "convince me"after thousands of years do we really need to be convinced?Any doubt created is that of the deciever. One with Faith does not need ratification. |

I think you should definitely be still and look for signs as you trust in his provision. |

I'm not sure what you mean by 'why is it so bad' I've found nothing scripturally to say it's 'bad'. Gideon asked for a sign 3 times AFTER having a face to face encounter with the 'Angel of the Lord' and they were granted to him!
I would suggest caution in your motives when asking... don't be like the Pharisees who witnessed many of the miracles and still said 'show us a sign' |

Jesus told the pharisees not to ask for a sign but they were unbelievers. For us to ask is not a sin. Doesn't it say "ask and it shall be given?" And signs are those which follow believers. I do believe we can get too dependent on signs. I think putting out a fleece (asking for a sign) is something to do for a special occasion, not on a regular basis. Another way to get an answer from the Lord is the LOT. See Prov.16:3 and Acts 1:26. |

Doubting Thomas' need a sign. |

Gideon laid out a fleece before the Lord and asked God to give him a sign by using that fleece. I think that there are many Christians who can testify to asking God for a sign and getting just that. |

Signs, are about to be given.THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES.Things that you nor i or anyone can prevent, hinder, slow down nor control. It is called THE TURNING-POINTS OF TIME-SPANDS.Bible Prophecy with living proof. WORDS, from the almighty himself.Ijust speak for Him.You may say I'M wrong.BUT THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING.There are signs of HIS presence all arround you.You don't have to ask for a sign....you won't be able to miss them. |

I don't think it is so wrong, if you are sincere, in trying to determine what you are asking about. I would urge you to get a concordance and study the word sign, to see how it is used, when, and what is said about it, especially in the new testament, as we now have the Holy Spirit to help us. God does show us things from time to time, but, we need to be grounded in the word,so that we know for sure that it is God showing us, instead of Satan. He is the master counterfeiter, and will deceive us if he can. |

The main sign I go by is what God has me doing with Him in His peace, at each moment...as well as You make me able to submit to You like this...moment by moment. And He leads me to do even practical things better than I could think before He has me doing them. So, asking a sign about what I can think up would be...not logical (o: (Colossians 3:15, Ephesians 3:20-21) |

Sue - Do not pray for a sign as Jesus said: "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah." (Matt 16:4).
Rather pray God to grant you help in building your faith through his word as quickened by the Spirit. Look at Israel and the signs they had and yet none of these kept them from falling back into apostasy. Remember, the Scriptures reveal faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. |

The whole universe is a sign from God. You, me, and all people or Earth are a sign from God. Anything else we ask for will be presumptuous. |

sue,Gods word tells us that we walk by faith, not by sight.jesus spoke of the lillies of the fields, and how god feeds the birds.asking is not wrong, but believing without a sign is faith.maybe faith is a conscience decision to believe God.not a matter of God proving himself too you or anyone.we have the gospel. |
