I never tried it but I understand a little bit of LSD digested will enable one to have all sorts of wonderful visions, even about God.

As drugs alter ones body chemistry so can a brain injury and that certainly leaves us with the view that Ellen White did have such a problem.

Interesting that some of her 'visions' had to be edited as some things were either clearly wrong or totally fantasia.

It is no wonder the EGW is highly disputed even in Adventist circles.

Many of Ellen White's contemporaries believed her visions were the result of her head injury. In general her visions often occurred after some discussion with her husband & close associates.

Head injuries have complex ramifications and could play a major role in cognition's of any type as well as behavior. No one can really say to what extent the head injury affected Ellen White's mind but it surely had some affect.

Bill - *A physical head injury can't make a person have an evil vision or believe a wrong thing...*

A blow on the head could cause brain damage and thus like some drugs can create a chemical imbalance.

Some studies by medical researchers (Loma Linda) on Ellen White indicates that she did display symptoms of a brain injury and observations indicate that her visions were the result of that brain injury.

**Many different things happen when a person receives a blow to the head.**

Mima, you and my father would agree on that. In fact, it's become known as "Vladimir's Axiom".

EGW in the tradition of other great psychics and mediums who suffered a head trauma (or sometimes convulsions) followed by an extended period of unconsiousness: Peter Hurkos, Edgar Cayce, Mary Baker Eddy...

A physical head injury can't make a person have an evil vision or believe a wrong thing > "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (Ephesians 2:2) "works" people to believe and promote what is wrong. Satan's spirit uses dominating emotions cruel and dictatorial > forcing and unkind passions and feelings witch w-o-r-k very hard.

But Jesus is sweet, kind > "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matthew 11:29) in His emotions of love moving us.

As regards this question. I would have you remember such people as--
Edgar Cayce
Peter Hurkos
Many different things happen when a person receives a blow to the head.

Jesus in us is kind, "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matthew 11:29) in His love's emotions guiding us and in how He has us believe what we believe...not forcing and browbeating > "nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

Was Ellen sensitive and humble in how she related in marriage and ministry, in Jesus Christ's "rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29)? Did she plainly talk about this which Jesus guarantees us who obey?

As predicted by medical science, Ellen White's visions became less frequent as she become older.

And again, medical science in viewing what transpired during her visions fully describes one that has had a frontal lode injury.

Her visions were self induced and the content being of something that was discussed earlier by her associates.
