Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them:,, and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Once you have a chance to review the judgment of Jesus, you will cry when you realize that some of your loved ones did not makeit to heaven.

Youwill cry when you realize that some who you thought for sure was a christians has some secret sin
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

RitaH, I also believe you are right. Rev.21:1-5 is speaking of the time of the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned to her Husband. (Bride) is a New Testament metaphor for the Church (Matt. 25:1-13, Eph. 5:25-27). John's imaginary here extends from the third part of the Jewish wedding, the ceremony. Believers, (the Bride) in the New Jerusalem come to meet Christ (the bridegroom) in the final ceremony of redemptive history. All tears will be wipe away, because in heaven, nothing will be sad, disappointing, deficient, or wrong (Isa. 53:4,5, 1 Cor. 15:54-57).

Tears are associated with sadness, pain, fear and loss. Tears come with grief, and with frustration. This moment referred to in God's presence is a moment devoid of all the emotions and concerns that partner with tears. Since God is one to be thorough, it also suggests those circumstances that bring tears will be eradicated, never to return.

I don't know if they were for anything.>>> He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will exist no longer, grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the privious things have passed away. [All Sin's effects will be Obliterated].

RitaH is absolutely right. That's what the scriptures are saying. Our life here on Earth is not easy. Each one of us have had many tears fall. Our rememberance of these tearful events accumulate as we grow older. You will surely find comfort when you are resurrected when Jesus returns. You will no longer remember these events. Isn't that grand?

I have always kept it simple and think that the tears are caused by pain experienced in the sinful world. It doesn't matter what the cause of the pain is but God wipes them and the pain away:)

I belive it has something to do with our loved ones that were not saved and didn't make heaven and and we know it That just my thought

Have you ever cried? God will wipe away your tears when He comes, He will wipe away the tears of all mankinds suffering forever, all the pain, sorrow, hunger, loss, everything. There will be no more tears.

I know I will be the Minority here, but I do not believe this is even referring to the Church, but rather those that have come through the Trib. and have indured great sorrow as a result of thier suffering. This is even after the 1000 yr. Mill. The Church has been with Christ for 1007 yrs. at this point and has enjoyed the Heavenly blessings as well as their Glorified bodies in which there will be no pain or sorrow,etc....Read the passage carefully and notice when this takes place.

The eyes, called the living foundation of waters, will be dry forever. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will exists no longer. Grief, crying, and pain will exists no longer. Because the previous things have passed away. God is making everything new.

My favorite pastor believed and I do too that we will be shown the people who God prodded us to witness to and for what ever reason we didn't and they were lost because we failed to do so.Then HE will need to wipe our tears away.

different reasons for different people, getting personal here, but with me, my family has shunned me, they give me no honor,on top of that I have been treated poorly, however with that being said, I chose Christ, and I chose the father and the Holy Spirit, but have I shed tears YES. In heaven those tears will not exist .He also very quickly removes them from me here on earth.

The tears are as a result of rejecting the Son of man's second coming, and will flow when He is revealed to all the world.
---duke on 1/11/08

I think these tears are just tears of this life. Which in general, is tough. By the time we are through it we will have cried a lot of tears, been through much sorrow, and experienced dying and pain. When it's all over, we will not have any of these things.

I always thought that these words were linked to the other words in that verse that 'there will be no tears' because all the things that caused tears (death, sorrow, pain etc.) would be eliminated - but I might be wrong.
