God is complex.

He is not complicated. The things we need to understand, we will with His help. There are things we will never, even in spirit, understand.

God is complicated but only for the wicked.

To answer this question, I just saw a seven-year-old boy answered The altar call in a church last Sunday. And in his prayer he said, I want to find God for giving me the courage to come forward this morning, and I want to thank him for making me a part of his family. Seven years old, yet understands plainly. Complicated, no!!! Too simple for the world at large to understand.
---Mima on 4/1/08

Sometimes it seems that things are comlicated because we mere humans don't know very much. I do not believe that God does it on purpose. He is God. We are to be forever listening to Him and follow His instructions to the letter. God never intended for us to have very many answers. Only to trust Him. "For I am the Lord thy God".

Well said, Jesse. That was the Scripture that immediately came to me when I read this question. However, there are some who would rather tune into "As The World Burns and the Stomach Churns".

Well, hmmm, let's see what the Word says."But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." Cor.11:3 or "Psa.119:130 "The entrance of Thy Word giveth light, it giveth understanding to the simple". And theres
1Cor.14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion." I think people just love drama.

With denominational doctrines.>>> I believe that we should do away with them. The correct way is in the word of God and God Himself does not mind directing His people.
---catherine on 2/25/08

God is beyond human ability to fully understand. Anything we can possibly know about him is due only to His word and Spirit. His Spirit is confirmed by what he has written in His word. Is there more to Him than is written? More than the world could contain in books. However, studying the book he has given us should be enough to keep us busy for the rest of this life. Also, denominations arise from flawed humans attempting to understand a flawless God.
---j._nonymous on 2/24/08

If you obey Jesus, God will become very clear to you. Some denominations are more Christ-centered then others are, and the denomination which is more in tune with the New Testament and Jesus Christ will be the most beneficial to the true God seeker.

neither God or his word is is we humans with our flesh and minds that are FICKLED AND COMPLICATED.
---tom2 on 2/11/08

If God seems complicated to you, it's because God is Spirit, we are flesh. If we are not walking by the Holy Spirit and are trying to understand the things of God, "The natural mind cannot understand spiritual things." God moves in a different realm than we do. Until we stop moving by our fleshly ways, and start to move by the Power of the Holy Spirit, God will seem complicated to us.

Its pretty uncomplicated, to Love God with all your mind, soul, strength, and body, and your neighbor as yourself. God started out with one command, and ended up with two. That is pretty simple indeed. He said so that a wayfaring man or a fool, would not error therein. He wants all to understand his plan of salvation, and live our lives to the fullest, enjoying what he has provided.Loving those who still oppose themselves, until they come to the knowledge of the truth.

God made the world in all its complicated forms and beauty.

But man is the one who complicates spirituality be insisting that everyone view the infinity that is God through their own eyes.

God is infinite. Man is finite. Do the math, and you'll see that there are infinite ways of perceiving God.

Linda: I think that's why God gave us children - so that we would better understand how He feels about us.

For the rest of the population that did not or does not have the optimum family, Jesus Christ fills in those gaps.
Always looking back to the leeks and onions, what might have or have not been, prevents living in the now, moment.
God is not complicated but religion is.

If you had loving parents that you knew for sure loved, protected and even sacrificed for you, then you know what God is like. Its that simple.

Amen! I enjoyed hearing what you have shared!

The Lord has put His Word into our hearts but man releases it (out of his heart through his mouth) to scrutinize it. But faith is about acceptance in the heart.

The "faith of a child" can simply & uncomplicatedly accept God because faith never tries to reason or rationalize the Lord's Word.

A child look only to love & be loved.

Its not complicated? God is LOVE! And love is simple. Do as He does and be as He is, its that simple.

god does make every thing complicated bec. everything points to sin or not biblical. so if you have an issue or trying to resolve issues, the first thing you will hear is SIN or that topic is not biblical or let go & let god(that is why you missed the blessings) or they tell you that do volunteer work or give tithe, you will be blessed. ie joel osteen is being 'judged' for his messages, either he is false prophet or there is no sin.
---mikeh on 1/16/08

God is simple enough for a child to accept by faith and yet he is so great that even the greatest scientist will never figure him out. When we get ahead of God things do get complicated but when we, by faith, function in the light that we have, he is not complicated.
---john on 1/16/08

I do not know about all of that. But yes, to me anyways, He can be complicated. To understand God would make things uncomplicated. Who understands Him?

God is not complicated. My now 7 year old Grandson understands God. If God is complicated that complication is caused by mankind termination to put his own twist on Scripture. This is also where the denominations come from. You not understand our puny minds and has purposely made Scripture very clear to understand.

Truth is deeper than any denominational line, there is a base fallen thinker in all of us that needs to be crucified on a flaming cross.

Even our imagination of God is comparatively evil in light of his holiness, none the less the thought of the shining transfigured image of God ascending beyond the clouds can make a man give up everything if it keeps him from his Lord- THIS IS THE ONLY TRUE RELIGION: follow Christ
---Pharisee on 1/15/08

Look at how complicated the human body is, which God made and His ways are managing. So, I'd say God is much more complicated than humans are making Him seem to be (o: And His ways are "past finding out", we have in Romans 11:33 > this meaning to me, that His ways can't be figured out > in His love, we are living in these ways, by simply submitting to their flow in "the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (in 1 Peter 3:4)

Complications can arise from comparative religion studies. Students of comparative religions can become very confused trying to interpret every doctrine of every denomination, and spend an entire lifetime trying to interpret comparative religions for others using comparative platforms.

When comparative religion platforms take on a comparative personality to fit the profile, it can end up being confusing.

Jesus is our example.

If we give others the Gospel of Jesus Christ without focusing on every false doctrine of every religious belief, the cult member or false doctrine believer will see distinct differences and begin to question. Answering those questions from a biblical vs. denominational platform removes the complication and confusion.
---Michelle on 1/15/08

When someone decides to fulfill an overly ambitious agenda, planting a denominational expert on every blog and it's the same person, we see the same point of view begin to creep into all of those blogs from the same person.
It hinders honest dialogue and eventually you need to start back at square one.

If you give people the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they're capable of seeing the differences, questioning, and making a decision of Who or what they will follow.
---Michelle on 1/15/08

There's a big difference between "simple" and "simplistic."

It's pop-evangelicals that make things complicated, coming up with ways to go around the Bible and especially what Jesus commanded, such as being baptized, eating and drinking His Body and Blood, and so on.
