Heard The Voice Of God
I've read many blogs that say how people have actually heard God's voice. I want that. Why won't God talk to me? I'm a Christian, I pray to God and ask him to make me a better Christian and to do his will, but when I ask Him to talk to me, nope. Why do some people hear Him and not me?

Bobby, what a wonderful thing, to have heard the voice of God at such an early age. It must have effected you deeply. |

A true audible external voice, was what I heard at the age of 6. Just a child climbing a tree, determined to go to the very top. Almost at the top I heard my name spoken clearly from above me from all directions above. God simply said my name 3 times. It caused me to stop climbing. I looked up, down, and up again. I believe he spoke to keep me from danger. I do not know why this occured, but it did. This was in the country and my mom was in the house, no one else around. This was a true divine encounter. |

Sue, we don't receive everything we ask for. We receive everything we need. Hearing the voice of God isn't given as a reward. I'm convinced that every person who hears God's voice is also challenged with hearing Satan's voice. Discernment is a life-long lesson. Ask for help in 'seeing' all the messages of love God is sending you. Believe me, they are there. He LOVES you. |

God Still speaks through audible voice.God is the same yesterday, today & forever.God has spoken to me in an audible voice telling me to preach in a bus. it was as clear as the person sitting beside me.In most cases it is a direction or when you are ministering to people. If God feels you need it in your ministry he will let you hear Him audibly as you grow and walk with Him. Live a holy life, obey his word, fast and pray always and you will be surprised God will speak to you. |

Catherine, I do believe that you heard the voice of the Lord from how you describe it. It is way different than the still small voice of the leading of the Spirit. You blessed me with that. Frank |

I am going to tell you how God's voice sounded to me. Not long after I was saved. I got upset and went to my room. I said to God, "I am trying so hard". And this was the first time He spoke to me. Sounded as if it was coming from the ceiling. He said, "this is all for a purpose". His voice was strong, clear, tone was that of a man's. Never demand God on anything. Everything is up to God. Stay close to Him. |

He speaks to me all day long,,guideing me,I could not get through the day if he did not... |

Do you know why His voice is a still, small voice? Because it requires intimacy and a head laying upon His breast to hear it. Sue, the truth is that your spirit man always hears Him because of being joined to the Lord and being one spirit with Him. His voice is the voice of peace, edification, comfort, hope, love, grace. Anything that falls outside of those parameters and tears you down is not of Him. |

He has spoken to us through His Son and has given His Word. Read the Word, meditate the Word, and give the Holy Spirit the opportunity to give you the revelation of the Word. Eph.1:17-23 is a good prayer to pray every time you open your Bible. Praying in tongues also facilitates the move of the truth in your spirit into your understanding. Be blessed. |

it is very possible that you have unforgiveness in you life that you have either forgotten about or you can not forgive somebody for doing you wrong at one point or another. unforgivenes acts like a barrier it also at times henders prayers. |

your purpose for hearing Him is not inline with what He wants you to do. You may not be as faithful as you think, what is your prayer life like? Are you praying for others as often as you pray for yourself? Are you doing the work of God? Helping out in the community, humble, longsufering, patience etc etc>?>...it all adds up to Christlikeness..I'm stil trying..be positive you will hear Him in time when He decides to let you hear Him. |

God likely does sometimes speak audibly to people. It is highly doubtful, though, that this occurs as often as some people claim it does.Even in the Bible,God speaking audibly is the exception, not the ordinary. If anyone claims that God has spoken to him/her,always compare what is said with what the Bible says.If God were to speak today,His words would be in full agreement with what He has said in the Bible.God does not contradict Himself. Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17 |

Friend, You are doing okay, by following the command to "Desire Earnestly Spritual Gifts..." 1st Cor. 14:1 I heard God's voice one time: I was 9, and it said "TIM, YOU NEED TO GO GET SAVED!" (To me, it was like a loud Sawmill Whisper.) I did, my dad led me thru the plan of Salvation at the altar, so why did God speak to me? Was I too dumb to figure it out for myself, or I needed that experience to face the opposition that was to come, and it did! (1st of two responses.) |

The Holy Spirit gives us all different gifts, but they are just that-different! (Check out 1st Cor 12 & 14-all) Everyone has different gifts: Healing, Prophesy, Miracles, etc. (IT'S IN THE WORD!) God is STILL the same "Yesterday, Today & For-ev-er!") It's Good to desire spiritual gifts, don't be jealous, but do test them! God intended for All Believers to fellowship and share the benefits of the others' gifts. Find yours- thru prayer and testing. Joel 2:23, Matt.5:16 |

Go back to the basics, Check out these verses... 1st Cor 1-all, and 1st John 4 all Maintain your walk-Matt. 6:33, Mark 16:14-19 These gifts weren't limited only to the 1st century.
The signs of the apostles knocked out dis-belief of many thousands. The most ardent dis-believing people were from the last established movement of God, the Pharisees and associated Jews, today there are others. Then, they refused to give up their position to a radical new sect, called..."Christians" |

Hi again. I re-read what I wrote last night, and was concerned that I could be misunderstood. (The 85 word max was a challenge.) God wants all people to worship Jesus as Lord, but that is not to say that He loves any person more or less than anyone else. God is Perfection. God is Peace. God is Love. God is All. Thanks, and God bless you. |

Dear Friend, I hear the voice of the Lord God Almighty and Jesus, the Christ. It never occurred to me to ask for this gift, because I stopped believing long ago. I didn't earn this. Praise Him. Listen to the voice you have named your conscience, it's the voice of God. He hears every thought that passes through your mind. If you've been hurt, forgive. Pray for help. As a Christian, you've been hearing Him all along. He loves you with all of His Being. God bless you. Deb |

The moderator is correct. God desires more than anything else a close relationship with all of His people. I have actually heard God's voice on a number of occasions. But as you become a more mature Christian, God will choose to talk to you in other ways. Stay foccused on God, stay in prayer and thanksgiving, and always be listening, is the best advice that I can give to you. God is real Jesus is alive. There is nothing frightening about His voice if you belong to Him. Awe struck is what it is. |

So, here I am, Sue, waiting for God to talk to me so I can tell you what He says to share with you (o: But He may not please to talk to me, but I trust You to communicate however You please...at each moment. His leading is communication. How He moves me is more reliable, than hearing His voice and doing what I can think He means > His actual leading has us doing what **He*** means by what He says ((o: There is the deeper-than-words communication and sharing, always, in His love. |

Sue, I strongly encourage you to follow the instructions found in 2 Timothy 2:14-19, along with the example found in Acts 17:11.
Please take heed to the warnings found in 2 Peter Chapter 2.
There are many people who claim to be coming in the name of CHRIST, who in wolves in sheeps clothing.
These people are drawing others unto themselves and unto Satan, and leading them away from CHRIST. |

You will have to sort between the pages of life. What everyone says is not always the truth. Some things are said by people that want others to think that God have spoken to them. Not that He cannot speak to us.But that, some lie about it. |

THANK YOU. I love ChristaiNet! Most of the people are so good, they really care. I am so grateful for the replies and I will learn more about fasting. I've never done fasting before. Thanks again, |

Without faith it is impossible to please our Father. Give Him praise, for He has blessed you to know He exist without ever having seen His physical presence, or heard His audible voice. The children of Israel thought they wanted to hear His voice until He actually spoke. His voice scared the hemie jemies out of them:o) Be content to hear the voice of His word as you read and meditate upon it and it resonates in your mind. He continually speaks with you through the still small voice of your conscience. |

God speaks through His LOGOS (Written Word), and through His RHEMA (specific spoken word). You MUST read the Bible on a daily basis to hear God speak to you. This is because you will hear Him through His Word, and then He can speak His Rhema to you. You will then know that this Rhema is from Him, because it WILL line up with His Logos. |
|

Sounds like you are having a one-way conversation. God wants to have a two-way conversation with you. Yes prayer is good (that is you speaking to God), but you MUST also read the Bible (this is God speaking to you). |
|
---Leslie on 2/9/08 |
Sue: I know God speaks to me everyday in many ways. But I have never heard God's actual voice. I know he speaks to me, whether through song, his word or through someone else. I don't know anyone that has heard the voice of God like it was in Abraham's time. |

God speak's every day to his creation when you read the word (K.J.V.) of God it is his voice.just like in Act's 2:38 the Lord say's to Repent and be baptize in the name of Jesus,SO HAVE YOU DONE THAT? |

Of course people are interested. I too am very interested. Now for myself, I have never heard God in an audible voice speak to me. I have had an umption(kind a certain feeling) that something was going to happen, or I was to do a certain thing. But never an audible voice with very clear directions. However is my understanding, some people have heard an audible voice. |

---Mima on 2/8/08 |
Sue, Hearing "voices" is not something to persue. Why? 1st you don't know who's voice you're hearing in your brain (where all sound is heard) How did the Isrealites "hear" God? Except for certain exceptions He spoke to the high priest. The people consulted the Urim and Thummim an elaborate system that involved stones worn in the breastplate of the high priest. Then it was only a "yes or no" answer....cont. |

#2. in the coffee shop that I go to every morning on my way to the job, sits a young man, laughing, joking asking and answering questions. Just one thing wrong, he's the only one there!....do you see what I'm saying? Be content to hear friends voices. |
|
---1st_cliff on 2/8/08 |
Sue: because he wants you to live by faith. If it happens, great. But Jesus said people who don't see but still believe are more blessed than those who believe because they see. I would imagine that applies to all the senses.
Besides, in the hereafter, you will know even as you are known... What a comforting thought. |
|
---j._nonymous on 2/8/08 |
Sue, God does speak to us through HIS WORD the BIBLE.
Please be careful. There are many different spirits in this world, and they are not all of or from God. Remember Satan also has his forces in this world.
Just because a person may hear a voice, this does not mean it is God's voice. |

S...O---S... Distress signal. I've been receiving that signal for someone on these blogs, two mornings in a row. It's loud, it's very loud.
Moderator's God given advice is the best, fast and pray. Those aren't glib churchy catchphrases. Those are God's keys to hear from Him. Not a diet from food, but God's way to see and hear what you should do next. |
