Michael_I too looked into "Wormwood" in my younger days.

The Star(wormwood) & The Reaping Scythe(1/3 of Man) on their Flag,
also sparked my curiosity in this matter.

One Good Earthquake and The water table beneath the earth would be Devastated & Devastating to Mankind.

John reveals 4 diff. Stars(Asteroids?) that will hit the Earth.

well by my count there were some 1093 fullfilled by jesus, and i believe thats everyone.jesus also saud that all prophecy would be fullfilled, before the end.so if god says it will happen and must happen, yes. but further yet god can not lie.

---Duane_Dudley_Martin of course you don't need proof. But your answer is so correct,so right on, so insightful, and it offers proof to me, because of your knowledge which you can only have gotten from the Bible.

The main reason we can trust biblical prophecy is that it, like the rest of Scripture, was writtenliterally God-breathedby the Creator of the universe. It is inerrant, perfect, and true. We must understand that before we can understand the role of biblical prophecy.

Consider Matt. 24
The Blossoming of the Fig Tree, 1948 Israel blossomed as a nation.
Their very existence to this point in history is an Act of GOD.
The fact that the old roman empire(EU)has joined together & is rising as the Economic power of the world, Just as Daniel said it would be in the End Times.
If you can't see whats going on, you have blinded yourselves to Scripture & your Surroundings.
I dont need proof, I've ALWAYS believed!

Prophecies are only one proof of the truthfulness of God's word. 1. God can not lie or Speak falsely. 2.Therefore All the words in Scripture Are Completely True and Without Error in Any Part. 3.God's Words Are the Ultimate Standard of Truth.>>>In John 17 Jesus prays to the Father, "Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth" [John 17:17]. This verse is interesting because, Jesus is saying tjat God's Word is not simply "true", but it is truth itself.

mima,of course, jesus himself said that everything written about him as the messiah would be fulfilled and was, including his own prophecy of his death and resurrection.

Mima

(John 4:21-24)
A person will never understand the Spirit and truth of Gods Word when they look for proof of it, based on what they see or where they go, in the natural.
---Shawn.M.T on 2/16/08

Not necessarily. The prophecies happen to be coming true, yes, and history repeats itself. There are prophets who are still relevant for today, that convinces me. But the fact that they could tell the future, that alone does not convince me. It is their spiritual insight that convinces me.

Yes. "God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath he said, and shall He not do [it]? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?" Fulfillment of prophesy bares witness to this absolute. "I AM the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak, shall come to pass. The word which I have spoken shall be done." No written prophecy of the bible has ever, or will ever, failed to come to pass.

10-4 on that good buddy! Use the same test for people that say they are prophets/apostles and you will sort out the truth from the liars.
---Dr._Rich on 2/15/08

Mima
1) Positive proof is not found in prophecies that come true? It is found in the Spirit not the natural.

Understanding of the absolute truth of Gods Word is by Faith, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by every Word of God.
---Shawn.M.T on 2/15/08

2) Just because someone spokes something and it happed, only means that they have accepted it into there life, it does not make it Gods Word. This is nothing but free will. You can accept sickness or lack of some sort into your life and it will happen for you, but this does not mean it is the absolute positive proof of the truthfulness of Gods Will for your life.

Isaiah prophesied that Persia would destroy Babylon and turn it into an uninhabited wasteland. The Persians did no such thing. It did not become uninhabited until after the death of Alexander the Great, who himself conquered the Persians.

The fact that all the prophecies eventually came true is "proof" positive that the Bible, the word of GOD, is 100% true.

They are certainly what convinced me Mima.
