1john1-8 says if we say we have no sin we decive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Recently a man asked me, do you truly believe in eternal security? Yes, I replied I do, in fact, I am so secure in Christ that I'm not constantly worried about my sins as many people are. I say this because I knew he was worried about his own sins. He is a deacon in a big Baptist Church.
---Mima on 3/27/08

You have got to be kidding! As wicked as people are. Living right next door to us, never going to be locked away. Who do we have locked up anyways. The wickest, most evil, VILE, people, are walking free on our streets in America. I don't fret to much about the world. This country I do.
---catherine on 3/27/08

I am saved by grace. Does that make me perfect? No it just makes me forgiven. The immortal man is perfect and sinless, but the flesh is sinful.

No it is not possible. Read I John chap 1 and it will give you the truth. Let God be true and every man a liar. People will say anything but you believe the word of God. You won't go wrong.

These people are saying, "they do not need Jesus". Do not listen to them. Furthermore, they do not have the conviction of the Person of the Holy Spirit, so how would they know if they have sin in their life.>>>This is why it is important to stay close to God, so you can have conviction of the Holy Spirit when you sin, and ask for forgiveness and receive it.

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." We have all sinned. We have all done things that are displeasing to God. There is no one who is innocent.

There was (and still is) only one human who ever walked the face of the earth sinless - Christ ...anyone who believes they are sinless (in the flesh) is foolish.

If we are walking on earth we are still in the flesh - we are not spirit beings yet.
---Rhonda on 2/23/08

Eloy I agree with your post in their entirety. "If Christ be in you, the body, the nature of man prone to its carnality, is dead because of sin, or due to the error inherent within it. But, the Spirit is life, alive within us because of righteousness. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: Old things are passed away, all things are become new. Whosoever abides in Him sins not. Hereby we know that we dwell in him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit."
---joseph on 2/23/08

Eloy, Rev. 3:4 states that it is more then possible to be without sin. So if you are one of those I for one am all ears as to what you have to say. Can you answer some of my questions? Since there will be no lie in your mouth I want to know if the coming like a thief is the same event as the coming in the clouds?
---Dr._Rich on 2/22/08

With most religions it is possible to claim that one has no sin, and even that sin doesn't exist. However, belief doesn't always match reality. These people are cultists. You can try to counsel them. If they will not listen, then their blood is on their own hands.

You must be kidding. This is mocking God's Blood to the hilt.
---catherine on 2/22/08

You had sin in your life before you found Calvary and were washed in the blood of Jesus. After that, you are to be without sin. Anyone who teaches that living without sin is impossible is teaching false doctrine. Adam & Eve willfully sinned against God and they were removed from Eden. The soul that sinneth shall die.
---Mr._Graham on 2/22/08

We have just learned that the evangelist who said he was perfect and had never backslidden is now telling people that my husband is a "trouble-maker" and not to trust him. I guess he didn't like it when my husband quoted scripture about someone who says they have never sinned being a fool.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. ELOY are you saying that we does not refer to the same people all through this passage? If 2 groups who are they?

I Jn 1:4-10 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

CHRISTIANS are SINNERS SAVED by GRACE. GOD'S GRACE. We can crucify our flesh in some areas but sin will still remain in other areas of our lives.But--God does not hold the sin against us, if we have truly repented and been born again. God knows every heart and know when we deliberately sin.We are not to knowingly sin and use occasions to sin. We are to die to our flesh daily and learn to fight temptations.
---Robyn on 2/19/08

"My little children, I write this to you that you all not sin. Though if somebody sin, a Counsellor we have by whom Father, righteous Jesus Christ, and he the appeasement being yours for sin, except not for ours only, but even for all the world." This does not say the saints are the sinners, nor is this advocating anyone to committ sin. Instead it is giving the remedy for sin, which is Christ our Salvation, and also he is the Salvation for whomsoever will turn to him to be saved from sin.
---Eloy on 2/18/08

.trey, In context: "If we say that we have fellowship with him, AND WALK IN DARKNESS, WE LIE, AND DO NOT THE TRUTH." This is your liar, and not the saints whom are not able to lie or walk in darkness. And in context: "ALL" have sinned, is referring only to those foolish Jews whom lived in sin and thought that they were holier than the nonJews. Please read Psalm 14 & Psalm 53, this is not speaking about the godly, but the disobedient sinners whom forget God.
---Eloy on 2/18/08

We went to a "revival" once where the evangelist said that he was perfect and had never backslidden since he got saved. He had some memory problems while preaching. That comment just reassured us that he had some mental problems. Of course, we didn't go to anymore of his services.

Yes. In 1John 2:1-2 he said, " My little children these things I write unto that you sin not, but if you do sin....."

He said, "if". So it is not impossible to live a sinless life.

Folks can't use "I have a sin-nature" as an excuse either. Folks can't classify themselves as sinners just because they have a sin-nature or even sinful thoughts.
---Rickey on 2/18/08

1John 1:8 wasn't talking about the act of sinning, but having a "sin-nature".

Verse 9 is talking about committing the actual sin.

Romans 3:23 is not referring to & should never be used referring to a born-again believer.

It says, "have sinned". Past tense. Jesus paid for that. (2Corinthians 5:21)
---Rickey on 2/18/08

What does the scripture say:

1john 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Ro 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,

Ge 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour, and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth, neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

etc.

.ritaH, If you say you trust in Jesus, but no good works follow what you say that you believe, then you are what the Bible refers to as: the cursed, the sinuous, the unregenerate, the damned, the crooked, the separated, the goats, the sons of darkness, the children of the devil, hypocrites, the liar, the unjust, the corrupt, the sinner, wicked and slothful servant, the disobedient, the hardhearted and stiffnecked, the antiChrist, the evil tree, the hated, the whited tomb, the dead, the burning tare.
---Eloy on 2/18/08

.ritaH, The saint is not the sinner. Not all are bad, there are the good and the bad. Jesus was proven sinless and a good-doer- Mt.4:23+ Jn.8:46,47. Pilate found him innocent after interrogation- Mt.27:24+ Jn.18:38+ 19:6. We his offspring are also good- Mt.7:17-21+ 9:10-13+ 25:21,23+ I Jn.3:7-10.

Know you all not that God's temple you all are, and the Spirit of God dwells in you? For the temple of God is holy, which you all are. Some of you saints were sinners, but you all are washed, but you all are sanctified, but you all are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly, and may your entire spirit and life and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Cor.3:16,17+ 6:11+ II Thes.5:23.
---Eloy on 2/17/08

I think that the entire purpose for Jesus life here on earth, was to deliver us from sin. Why else was he here? I know in my own life that much sin has been dealt with and overcome. Is that not what he asks of us? I think he also wants us to know what sin is. I have dealt with everything that he has put a finger on up till this point in my life. I am not perfect, but, I try very hard to live the way he wants us to live.
---Gayla on 2/16/08

Wow this is encouraging to see that there are real men out there who do believe it is posible to stop sinning & remain in the state of Grace That is what Jesus Meant "Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect"FREE FROM SIN" DEO GRATIAS.

well all I can say for sure about these people is there just may possibly be NO HUMILITY in their lives.he who would be first should be last.and second scripture tells us that no living person is or has been without sin except jesus.so in my opinion they are lying to you ,but more important to themselves.
---tom2 on 2/16/08

Yes, it is possible to stop sinning. Else, the Bible is a lie. We have all sinned (past tense), but our admonition for the future is the same as that given by Jesus to the woman caught in adultery - "go and sin no more." Is it possible to STOP sinning?

Mat 19:26 With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Phi 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
---jerry6593 on 2/16/08

His mission -redemptive and to be relevant of the Father's nature.
The distinction of Jesus remains that he was made to be a man at the command of the Father, but not like a robot, this the the glory/will of the logos, that like any other man he had the free will to sin, but no predisposition to sin- tempted to sin at every turn and in all ways of men yet remaining PURE.
Falling short of that glory at any point is being guilty of all of it. (James 2:10)
Ever not wanna go to work? Yeah, me too.

John::You may be right but there is an element of Doubt because why then did God make saints who had this ingredient & those yet to be Saints, even doubting Thomas became a saint.
---Emcee on 2/16/08

Most people consider sin to be "doing bad" but it is also sin to not be doing exactly what God tells you. When I meet someone who claims not to sin I ask them if they love the Lord with ALL thier heart and their neighbor as themselves. Of coarse there is no one who can claim this so that should put an end to that claim.
---john on 2/16/08

NO. Everyone has sin in their life, they may not want to admit it, but they still have a carnal mind. There is no one that is perfect except Jesus Christ. So if they tell you they have no sin in their life, they are fooling themselves and trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
---Rebecca_D on 2/16/08

NO. The Bibles answers that pretty clearly. 1Jn1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

But that doesn't mean that we should sin that more GRACE should abound. Rom6 We should live by the fruit of the spirit (Gal 5) so that we sin LESS.

There has been only one who has lived without sin and that is Jesus.
