Kneel And Pray To It

I got this picture of Jesus in the mail and instructions saying I should kneel on it and pray my needs, put in under my pillow, then mail it back so another person can be 'blessed' by it. What is this? Trickery or real? The picture of Jesus has His eyes closed but if you stare, His eyes open.

It is garbage, real garbage, which should be thrown out with the garbage. The picture is called an "optical illusion" where an image is made in such a way that an additional image can be seen or imagined over top of or connected to the image. Fo example one vase can also be viewed as a side profile of two individuals facing each other, where the outside edges of the vase are imagined as the outlined edges of the side profile of the eye brows, eyes, nose, lips, and chin of two people facing each other.

God's Word does not teach anything concerning a picture of Jesus. I got a piece of cotton in the mail once and if I prayed over it, I would gain wealth. guess what I did? I threw it in the trash. It amazes me how some people use Jesus to make money.

I'm not sure if it's real or not, but my grandma got this in the mail last week, asked for money (her husband of 46 years just passed), and got around $14,000 in the mail over a month early for my grandpa's pension. Coincidence or not, I don't know, but she said it absolutely worked for her. She received it from and sent it back to a Catholic church and she never signed up for it at all (she only goes to Lutheran mass once in awhile).

Review those books of the Bible that were written specifically to combat false teaching within the church: Galatians, 2 Peter, 2 John, and Jude. It is often difficult to spot a false teacher / false prophet. That is what a wolf in sheeps clothing is all about. Satan and his demons masquerade as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and his ministers masquerade as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). Only by being thoroughly familiar with the truth will we be able to recognize a counterfeit.

Years ago a radio evangelist requested that all who heard him should write, request prayer and give a donation. In return he would send each person a 1 inch square of the original last supper table cloth... Go figure. NO one has a "photo" or true likeness of Jesus. Even if they did, we are not to pray over or to it. Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice for us then sent a comforter to be with us (His holy spirit). We don't need a proxy or a letter other than the letters in the Bible.

MaryKme Kay::There are many people circulating things that are incorrect, to the point of Blasphemy. This is one, irreverent & despicable.the word says "At the name of Jesus ,every knee shall bend"This means in Reverence to do Homage .Satanic ploys & artifacts will always pervade The Glory of the almighty, as in Genesis. You know who started this & he continues to do so.He was turfed from heaven & roams the earth seeking the ruin of souls.

Sue you aren't dumb at all. Remember Satan comes as an angel of light to deceive God's people. There are a lot of E-Mail letters I get which tell me as soon as I pass them on I will have some type of blessing and good luck, even a money blessing. I delete them, frankly I don't need any tricks to get blessings from God. A little poem I wrote,To be a Princess is a treat indeed,My Father is a King who supplieth all my need. (Without mans help.)

It is NOT REAL!! Can you imagine Jesus asking you to kneel ON Him?? I certainly can't!! To be on your knees in prayer and reverence to Him is wonderful, and pleasing to Jesus, I don't see any sense or purpose in kneeling on Him..LEANING on Him ,most certainly! TRASH IT, and pray from your heart for His grace and enlightenment!!

sue...You're not dumb. We all get things like that and wonder about them. I'm sick of getting all the emails from my "friends" and the emails tell me I will have a real blessing if I send it on, but won't have a blessing if I don't. God was blessing me long before email.

Thanks everybody, I threw the thing away. It was so convincing though! Saying that I will be 'blessed' just as soon as I followed the instructions! To think I almost fell for it! I'm so dumb sometimes. Thanks again.

Pray to God in Jesus' name, hopefully you don't need a picture to remind you! Yep, toss it!

I received one of those letters with the prayer rug too and Jesus that opened his eyes. I threw it in the trash with the rest of the junk mail. I hate gimmicks which try to squeeze money from people and thats all that was a scheme for money. I also feel oh ye of little faith that thinks anyone needs such to touch God. We have an ever present line to God through Jesus Christ, our intercessor, and the results will be greater than false methods of socalled preachers.

This is nonsense, especially as there are no known pictures of the actual Jesus. All pictures are of what people think he looked like. So, you can do anything with that picture that you want and it wouldn't matter. This is just an example of the things people will believe that is totally false. I believe a person could start a new religion based on all false doctrine and it would still be a hit.

Sue
(John 4:23-24)
When true worshippers worship the Father they worship in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such people to worship Him this way, because God is a Spirit: and we who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

(John 4:21-22)
You know not what you worship when you try to worship based on something or someplace of the natural. When a person understands how to truly worship the Lord, they will not be led astray by false prophets or teachings.

I don't think this has enough mental or spiritual oomph to be up to the level of a false prophet/teacher.

But it does sound silly and useless. Toss it.

You should not make or take unto yourself any graven image, or likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or the earth beneath, or the waters under the earth to bow down to them, or it, nor serve them: For the LORD your GOD is a jealous God. Place your hope and trust in the Father alone. For cursed is the man that makes any image, [for worship], the work of the hands of man, and puts it in a secret place. Confounded are that serve images, that boast themselves of idols. Prayer needs no prop.
---Josef on 2/16/08

From what I gather this would be a way for a person to kneel and pray. What harm has ever come to anyone when they humble themselves and pray to God? Why not do this? Who knows the reason as to why you got this. Don't pray to the picture, pray to Jesus.
