I don't believe God has given up on America, but its clear that many Christians have.
Its true we have these horrible problems, but what's the point of all this talk?
Im striving to make a difference here and now, to turn my fellow Christians back to Christ so that we may win more hearts for the Lord.
I believe in a God who hasnt yet given up on America. I believe that God is big enough to accomplish what all you nay-sayers say is impossible-- that the United States could be pillar of light to all the world
It's not going to be easy. Christians must unite and pray for eachother. Eph.6:18

No, God has not "left" this country. But since this country has allowed Christ and God to be attacked openly, so God is going to allow this country to be attacked openly. He has removed his protection from America. And this is not as it would seem in the media. As America will be attacked by it's own elite. The same who openly attack God. |

Has some have alreadly pointed out, God is Omnipresent, He is everywhere at every time for there is no place where He is not (Hebrews 4, 13, Psalm 139:7-13, Jeremiah 23:23, etc). For if there is a place that God is not present, He ceases to be the Immortal Creator. Now, whether he is happy with America or not, is a different story. This country is filled with all kinds of sins of mankind. You decide.

God is Omnipresent, He is everywhere at every time for there is no place where He is not. He might be allowing this country to suffer, or has allowed others to suffer, but He always has a reason. Our faith is to Trust that God is always truthful in all He does, and righteous in His doings. All that is happening is not a surprise for God. He knows where it will all end. |

How can He be suddenly dissappointed if He already knows all, Past, present and future? After all He is Omniscient. You are thinking as if He is human like in thinking like you or me. For the false teachers and false prophets SOOTHE the sheep's ears by telling them that "GOD wants His people to PROSPER". That "He's NOT bringing Judgment, but REVIVAL!" They're more concerned about "GOD's Blessings" and their Material Wealth, that they don't WANT to be warned of GOD's coming Judgment. I think because God is omnipresent, He wouldn't really leave the United States. We can feel like God left but faith is really important as far as this goes. We just have to trust and obey what He commands and never give up. I'm reading a good book by Charles Stanley called When the Enemy Strikes. It's good if someone want's to know how and when the devil attacks and what to do about it.

Sue, GOD has not left HIS people. Where ever His people are, there HE is with them. But, He IS going to bring severe Judgment to this country SOON. America has MOSTLY turned her back on GOD and wants only His "Blessings" and His "Hand of Protection" from her enemies, but DOESN'T want GOD "telling her what to do nor telling her how to live". And, GOD is saying NO WAY to that. This country has turned into a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah, and GOD will Judge this country as such. |

Catherine, GOD has already been holding back Judgment for the sake of His Remnant. SOON He is going to come for His Remnant Bride, and THEN will He let all Hell break loose. America is in no way above GOD's Judgment of Wrath. GOD is not a respector of NO ONE, nor NO COUNTRY. Yes, Israel is a Special Country, but even THEY were Judged and suffered many consequences for their sin and rejection of GOD. The same WILL happen to us. Some people say that the reason that certain countries have droughts, famines, floods, earthquakes etc. are signs that God has turned His back on those counties but there will also be Christians living in those countries so would we suggest that God has turned his back on His own also? After the twin towers atrocity and hurricane Katrina many used the phrase 'God has removed His hand of protection'. Would that be a better phrase or does it mean the same thing? |

Somewhere in the Bible, which I am not looking up scriptures today that is obvious, God tells us that He will withhold judgment upon a nation because of His remnant. Still God's judgment can come down on individuals in different places. That can cause all of our mouths to open and call out to Him to please "stop". |

People go against God, but God does not abandon them > "God resists the proud" (in James 4:7 and in 1 Peter 5:5). God is resisting this nation, and so He is very actively relating with this country, arranging for things to work in mysterious ways to slow America down from going into much worse disaster than we have seen. This resistance is caring, but requires hard things to deal effectively with hardened people...like how the controlled destruction by a backfire can stop a raging forest fire. |

Jesus said I'll never leave you nor forsake you, so if someone has moved away, it's man, not God. Man's sin separate him from having a relationship and fellowship with God. God's mercies are new every morning and all it takes to come back to God is crying out to Him in prayer for help. God hasn't abondened man, but man has abondened God. Very sad, but true. |

God's Judgment has not come to the nations.
The nations are still under grace, and individuals are still under grace.
There is no truth to the SDA doctrine of ongoing judgment when EGW received that message, almost identical to what you are referring to, that God has left America. If that were the case, I can think of other nations that would apply to as well, but God is still here. Even if one makes their bed in hell, God is still there. |

Mima: We all need to understand (be clear), the "nation" is "we the people". If the man means the geographical land area of the United States, my answer is no because without Almighty God we could not exist environmentally.
