Blessings Of The Church

While talking with a soulwinner he made the following statement. In today's world most soulwinners operate without the blessings of any church. Comments?

Moderator - To some degree it is a true. Also the soulwinner has to be extremely careful of the church that they recommend for the newly saved.

All blessings are from God and only God. No one else.

James 5:19-20
19 Brethren, if ANY of YOU do ERR from the TRUTH, AND one CONVERT HIM,

20 Let HIM know, that HE which CONVERTETH the SINNER from the ERROR of HIS way SHALL SAVE a SOUL from DEATH, and shall HIDE a multitude of SINS.

Sounds like a Soulwinner to me?

Brian, after reading your post, your answer has much wisdom. I had not read the post as clear as you did. Thanks for the wisdom my brother. You are so right that we need to make sure how we use words. I am sure I have made many mistakes that warrant someone reminding me, because sometimes we get so caught up with answering that we overlook what we say. I am sure Mima understands he doesn't win any souls himself.
---Mark_V. on 6/4/08

Tommy, I totally agree with you also. Our marching orders were given by the Lord to witness to the world in Truth.
---Mark_V. on 6/4/08

I'd be careful with the term "soul winner." God is the only one who can "win" a soul to Christ. He simply uses our example and the seeds we plant through our words and the way we life our life.
---Brian on 6/4/08

Tommy I totally agree with your answer.
---Mima on 6/4/08

Mima, it is not necessary for a person to receive blessing from a "church" before they go witnessing, our marching orders were given by Jesus Christ. It may be a good idea to receive some training in Scripture before a person undertakes to do too much witnessing, lest they confuse themselves and/or others with wrong comments from lack of knowledge.

To the religious folks who had religious spirits, Jesus gave Nicodemus mind knowledge. He reached him where his theology was. To the woman at the well, he reached inside her heart because she was tender and not a religious person and Jesus knew he could reach inside her heart and talk to her on a different level than He could Nick.

Ken_Nic. was so Educated, Jesus said to Him:
You are a Teacher of the things of God,
AND you Don't KNOW THIS?

I DON'T recommend Churches to people, I Let the Spirit Guide them.

Mima::To be born again applies to those who do not and did not Know jesus .But once having Found out should seek the light in Jesus ,in the way that Jesus on Jesus said many other thingsJn3:18-19Those retrenching themselves from the society of Christ and 'His' church will also be condemned.
---Emcee on 6/3/08

Moderator ::Your remark is well taken Jesus speaks of this in Matt7:24to succeed in the building of ones spiritual life one must choose a 'rock' foundation, again in Matt16 17-19 Jesus declares the building of His ' Church, on the 'Rock' of his apostolic faith in HIS Church. The application is clear supported by the guidance of the H/S.

Donna, I believe the answer to your question is, because Jesus had not died yet on the cross of Calvary. There was no livingwater available for Nicodemus, also it was impossible for the woman at the well to be born again until after his death on the a Cross.
---Mima on 6/3/08

Nicodemus was a well educated teacher in Old Testament scripture. In it there are many prophetic references to Jesus as water and Nicodemus knew this.
---Ken on 6/3/08

To Donna, no. I do not know why Jesus did not talk to Nicodemus about living water. But I'm very interested and I am all eyes. Please tell me.
---Mima on 3/7/08

Mima, yes, but do you know why Jesus didn't tell Nicodemus he needed living water? And why he didn't tell the woman at the well she needed to be born again? I just heard this about a year ago and it was phenomenial the hidden treasures of the word of God.

Far better to remain in your denomination or go to a denomination than end up cowed into complacency. Swinging banners, singing campfire ditties and roasting marshmellows.

Remember the dinosaurs that died with daisies in their mouthes? You'll be filled with marshmellows of purpose and die without the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

There is trendy soul winning culture that is spreading like wildfire.
They are luring Christians out of denominations, telling them it's alright to leave Jesus Christ for your "purpose" or the "plan" for your life.

When your get over there, your life will become "purpose-less" and you could lose everything.

To Bill_bila5659 It is a scientific fact that the mother's blood does not mingle or mixed with the child's blood. As ample practical proof of this is, if it were true, then every child would have the same blood type has their mother!!! There you have proof positive!!! The Virgin Mary, the mother of physical Jesus, played no part at all in the type of blood(Holy Perfect precious sinless blood) that Jesus shed for you and I on cross of Calvary!!!!

1) ** What do you mean when you say operating without the blessing of ANY church? ** As if there is more than one Church. There is only one Church, which is the body of Gods Word and it is the Lord who is the head of the Church. So our commissioning to fulfill the commandment of Gods Word will come from the Lord, as it did for Saul on the road to Damascus when he received his commissioning to minister the gospel to the gentiles.

2) Saul acted before hearing from the Lord and was found in the sin of persecuting the Lord. He thought he was serving the Church but he was moving to a calling (of the Messianic law) that he himself did not hear form the Lord and it was not because the Messianic law was incorrect but incomplete.
---Shawn.M.T on 3/1/08

3) They at that time were not accustomed to listening for their own personal commissioning from the Lord. But after realizing that the Holy Spirit has been poured out onto man, Saul came to understand that it is now the Spirit of the Law that we needs to listen to & follow.

If we Hope to righteously serve our Heavenly Father then we will wait for our commissioning to come from the Lord. If we do anything with insufficient knowledge and understanding of His Word we will find ourselves in sin?
---Shawn.M.T on 3/1/08

Donna I agree with this statement."Thus the leading of the Holy Spirit individualizes each witness to a person." However, I believe that "born-again" spoken to Nicodemus and "living water" spoken to the woman at the well refer to exactly the same thing namely SALVATION (having the indwelling Holy Spirit).

---Mima on 3/1/08

Yes, Donna, each of us is a unique person. And that living water would be like the liquid of a mother's blood, flowing across the placenta in her womb to form into her baby. Like this, the living water of the Holy Spirit would form into Jesus within that woman, making her born again, a new creature in Christ > "My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you," (Galatians 4:19)

Mima, the church is not a building. We are the church. Soulwinners should operate under the Power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our example - He didn't tell the woman at the well she needed to be born again. Instead, He offered her living water and to Nicodemus he didn't offer living water, but told him he needed to be born again. Thus the leading of the Holy Spirit individualizes each witness to a person.
