Thanks Shawn.MT. Well said.
Everything we do it should be as unto the Lord. Let our light shine and others will notice that we are 'different'.

Sag
1) To work for the Lord we must do the "Work of the Lord" and produce all that He produces which are the fruits of the Spirit. To do this we must walk in the Spirit.

What this means is that in all that we do, we are to do it in the Spirit of the Lord. This will produce the fruits of the Spirit which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

2) Matt.7:15-17 speaks of knowing them by their fruits and how every good tree produces good fruit, but a corrupt tree produces evil fruit.

Gal.5:19-25 speaks of the fruits of the flesh (evil) & the fruits of the Spirit (good) and how we that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts because we seek to live in the Spirit, and to do this we must also walk in the Spirit as the Lord does.

Anytime you share the gospel with someone. Or do the things that Jesus did toward sinners and the saved, you are doing the work of the Lord.Especially toward the unsaved. But you must be born again yourself, to truly say, you are doing the work of the Lord.If you don't believe in God(the trinity) you are just doing good but it is being done in the wrong spirit.

There are many "phrases"/attitudes, impressions/opinions/practices/ritualistic behavior/protocols, etc. that the traditional teachings encourage, but that is only because conclusions are drawn by misunderstanding scripture.

DO NOT love the bible, it does not SPEAK, it does not "SAY" anything. God's SPIRIT speaks ("HEAR His voice" John 10:27).

"For God is not so unjust..." Hebrews 6:10 as to overlook work done for the SAINTS, God Himself is not needy.

Amen josef. Well said.
I can't help but think of my son, since age 7, before going to school each morning, began saying "I'm going to work for Jesus". I tried to teach him that whatever we do, in word or deed, we ought to do as unto the Lord, giving thanks...

Hi, sag . . . josef has a very good answer.

I'd like to offer > when ones say they "work for the Lord", they may mean simply that they minister prayer and God's word and loving assistance which are work for the Lord. So, no, I'd say, they would not mean their money making jobs, necessarily. But things done at church and in volunteering can be what they would include...but working for Jesus would not be limited to formal church and volunteer work.

Man does not work for the Father, It is the Father that works through man. Man is to do what ever he does to the glory of God. Mans position should always be one of rest, and the man who has rested has ceased from his own vain carnal efforts. This is the work of God, that you believe-rely on, adhere to, trust in and depend upon-the one sent. The Father has sent His comforter, the indwelling presence of His Spirit. Our true life's direction is not of or in our own strength, efforts or force of will.
