Walking In His ways. Obeying, No wavering, No straddling the fence with one foot in for God & the other foot in for the devil & his glamorous
worldly pleasures. You canNot serve 2 masters.

Love one another as Christ has loved you! Love your neighbor as yourself. Follow His commands.
Get baptized! Repent and confess your sins to one another! 77 x 7 times forgive one another as God forgives us!
---lisa on 5/25/08

When we esteem others as greater than ourselves and love the unlovable as Christ did, then we may be somewhat Christ-like. Full of forgiveness, hospitable, giving, and following the Holy Spirit of God.
---jody on 5/9/08

Being Christ-like to me is when a person obeys the Father in the same manner as Christ obeyed.
---AG on 5/9/08

Man this is an easy one,ROM. 8:29-30. If you are a vessel of mercy, you will be conformed. The whole 9th chapter of Romans.
---joe on 4/29/08

I am going to do instead the "image of God". >>>the expression refers to every way in which man is like God. A full understanding of man's likeness to God would require a full understanding of who God is in His being and in His actions and a full understanding of who man is and what he does. The more we know about God and man the more similarities we will recognize, and the more fully we will understand it by and by what scripture means when it says that "man is in the image of God".

catherine: you are absolutely right..noone is Christlike, but we can do our very best to obey His commands..after all, we have made a covenant with Him when we came to accept Him in our lives havent we..so why not do the very best we can to obey Him..God bless
---pop on 4/4/08

Catherine, each and every one of us stands up to Satan--every time we listen to God.

We can't be perfect, but we can continue to do our best, every day. We can try to be more Christ-like.
---deb on 4/2/08

Yes, Warwick is correct. And it cost Jesus Christ our Lord His life. It will cost some of us ours. We are living in a world where people cannot stand the truth. All they are seeking is lies. Tell us how great we are even if it's lies. [Jeremiah].
---catherine on 4/1/08

No Amazed, part of being Christ-like is to defend His Truth before man and to point out error, as judged by Scripture, whereever it may occur.

Conversely to keep quiet about error is not Christ-like, just the opposite, as He was very critical of those teaching error, when He was on earth. For exapmle He called the pharisees a temple of Satan. The truth, the inconvenient, annoying (to them) truth.
---Warwick on 3/31/08

To be Christ-like one has to bash the Catholics, preach to everyone that s/he is surely in the right path, bash the Virgin Mary and condemn everything the Catholics do.
---Amazed on 3/31/08

I shall be honest: I do not know anyone who is truly Christ-like. Jesus stood up to the devil. This I know. You can feel yourself growing. But, Christ-like? We just keep plugging on. The hypocrites are doing a good job on this pretense.
---catherine on 3/31/08

To be christlike is to love unconditionally. Jesus excepted and loved everyone, no judgement.
---Rhonda on 3/31/08

It means obeying all of God's Ten Commandments which is a manual that He gave us for righteous living..which also is a transcript of His Holy Character we, christiandom all need to conform to to be Christlike Rom 8:29, 1Cor 15:49, 2 Cor 3:18 etc Read and understand what each law means. They are all beautiful laws just as Christ is beautiful in all His ways amen

These rich pastors are just lining their own pockets. You need to read the Bible and join the fight for Christianity. If it means defending yourself, the Holy Spirit will give you the words, we were promised this in the gospels.
---frances008 on 3/25/08

to be christ-like is to 'deny' your self, don't say anything when you are abused & sacrifice everything you own. that is what the pastors say - that thinking of yourself is sin, yet they have money to buy houses & luxury cars.

Being Christ-like is part of our inheritance. God has built this provision right into our salvation and it will take place without fail if we only reckon with God, yield to the Spirit, believe the Word of God and expect His promises to be manifested in our lives. This is the work of Christ and the Spirit in us, it is their responsibility to see that it is accomplished. We just make it a lot easier for ourselves and the Spirit if we reckon, yield, believe and expect.

If one denies the Power of the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit is God, you've lost your Power of agreement with your own prayer.

One may request the same prayer for 20 or 30 years and not ever see an answer if you deny the power of the Holy Spirit.
---Cindy on 3/25/08

If one's faith is true, one can offer up the prayer of faith, when no one is looking or listening, with belief that God will hear your prayer and answer it.

If one has more faith in the repetition of prayer requests, more than having faith in God, that He hears it the first time, one is practicing a religion of works.
---Cindy on 3/25/08

Give some time for diligent prayer for ALL. If one you pray for has fabricated then its their loss. You have done your duty to pray and God will bless you for it.

Cindy : "Whatsoever things are true,
Whatsoever things are honest,
Whatsoever things are just,
Whatsoever things are pure,
Whatsoever things are lovely,
Whatsoever things are of good report,
...if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things"
Quite!
Do you think you are following this virtuous principle when you accuse everyone with a personal problem of fabricating it?
---alan_of_UK on 3/25/08

Cindy, your words would be more credible if you practised what you preached. A couple of other things. I don't like it when Bible verses are lifted out of the Bible and used without their context because that makes God out to be a liar. The Bible is an entity in itself and undivisible. You cannot cling to one verse and not take others into account. That is how it is subverted for use by Satanists.
---frances008 on 3/25/08

...but you must also have "rivers of living water" (John 7:38) in your heart (mixed with Christ's blood at the cross) and drink of God's spirit (Revelation 7:16). If you continue to live according to the laws of sin (Ephes. 2:15) instead of the "law of liberty" (James 1:25 and 2:12), you will receive the wages of sin and be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:14).

If you "WALK BY THE SPIRIT" Galatians 5:16, 25 and "HEAR His voice" John 10:27 instead of simply read "the introductory doctrine of Christ Hebrews 6:1 which is the "word of TRUTH" 2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6, you will discover "the DEPTHS of God" 1 Corinthians 2:10, but there must be no "self abasement"/abandonment Colossians 2:18, 23, your relationship to "I am who I am" must be "in my inmost SELF" Romans 7:22...

...you will learn from God's eternal spirit instead of the "hirelings" John 10:13 so that you can "enter by the door" John 10:1, but first you must learn a clear difference between right and wrong/evil so that there is no middle ground ("no variation or shadow" James 1:17) so that the change from good to evil is clear and abrupt, and then the spirit can purify your conscience Hebrews 9:14.

To me, being Christ-like is doing my best. I'll never be without imperfections, but I can work on improving.
---Deb on 3/24/08

Peaceful, not paranoid.

Pure, and caring about others, instead of being in immoral desires to just USE someone.

Honesty which has me loving and caring for people, instead of just telling the truth in order to impress people.

Really loving all people, not merely making gestures and sacrifices for my own self-image.

What if Jesus Christ was reading through the blogs on ChristiaNet, and He said, this day it will come to pass that each one of you, everything that you have said, it will happen just as you have said it.

What if?

Do you think there would be any subtractions made from all of the claims made today?

What would happen if every word and everything that you speak over yourself, will happen just as you've spoken over yourself?
Written or spoken, all of it would come to pass.

Do you think those speaking highly dramatic/ fabricated prayer requests or stories over themselves would cease?
---Cindy on 3/24/08

Jesus Christ spent much time in prayer, but He never prayed crooked prayers or crooked speech.

He spoke accurate and His conversation consisted of what God said.

Jesus Christ used the written Word to defeat satan.

He that keeps his mouth, keeps his life,
but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Attend to My words, let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart.

Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

Cindy: "After a few years of being duped, one no longer is moved to pray for those urgent, dramatic requests that may or may not ever be true"
Surely it would be the greatest tragedy if you made a mistake, and because you thought something "may or may not ever be true" you failed to pray for a genuine situation?
---alan_of_UK on 3/24/08

Christ-like, telling the Truth in love.

The greatest tragedy on the blogs is experiencing lies, being on the receiving end of those that lie, continually, compulsively.

It even influences the prayer requests when there are lies mixed with truth, without love.
---Cindy on 3/24/08

When lies are added for drama or as a device for urgency, to pray each and every day for the same things, year after year, it takes away from the integrity of Christ-like replies.
After a few years of being duped, one no longer is moved to pray for those urgent, dramatic requests that may or may not ever be true.
---Cindy on 3/24/08

You must really know God before you can be Christ like. You must speak the truth. Integrity without wavering. Obedience to the Lord thy God. Stand your ground against Satan. Jesus did. Faithfulness to the Lord thy God. Make no reputation for yourself....Well, Here is the bottom line. Only a few will actually make it to heaven. I am going to be one of the few. Traveling with God will make you strong and sane.

Being just like Christ. In order for one to be Christ-like their hole demeanor has to change. A person has to have a mind like Christ. They have to let the Holy Ghost shine through so others can see the light. The number one thing that gets most people in trouble...our tongues. We have to control what we say and how we say it. Just because something pops in the mind, doesn't mean we need to repeat it.
---Rebecca_D on 3/24/08

Being as much like Christ as possible.Being kind, loving, forgiving.Loving my neighbor as much as I love myself.Taking a firm stand for what is right.Talking to our Father in heaven daily or even more often.
---shirley on 3/24/08

Christ-like is speaking the Truth in love.

Speaking the truth in anger and lying in love......not Christ-like.

Judas betrayed Jesus while lying in love.
---Cindy on 3/24/08

to me it,s following the fathers wishes.people question the word, over and over, they seem to want answers too question that are irelevant, that mean nothing.and ignore gods word because they want answers that lineup with their lifestyles.a life dedicated to obidiently and submissively loving god and their fellow man, doing good through jesus would remove almost all their questions

Being Christ-like: Dying to self.

He emptied himself....becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross. Phillippians 2:7-8
---Cindy on 3/24/08

the problem is we cant have our thoughts on the world and god at the same time.paul writes that no one of 2 minds is worthy of being a child of god.so renew your mind in the things of god, think as jesus does, and many question will never occur.the answer is jesus, there are no questions save accepting him.
---tom2 on 3/24/08

Following Jesus in the things HE commanded.

Jesus stated that we have two commands to guard against breaking- Loving God with all that we are and do, and loving your neighbor as yourself.

The separation from self will (a moment at a time) to apply those things in faith is the likeness of Christ.
---pharisee on 3/24/08

Since God is love and love draws people and since we are told to be imitators of Christ, let the Love of God rule in your hearts and overflow to others, both believers and unbelievers. When you have God's love in your heart, you will act like Jesus. He was humble, He was kind, loving, patient, long-suffering, caring, forgiving, He did the Father's will and not His own. He gave his life for others. Should I go on?
