Michael I just came across your question. Answer, he made a conscious decision to surrender. With that decision and the submission of his will, he humbled himself to the will of the Father. With that surrender of self, he was empowered of the Christ within and the joy of the LORD became his strength. In our Fathers' presence is a fullness of joy. To put off the shackles of the enslavement to and of the carnality of ones thinking is to enter into the presence of the LORD and experience His joy and peace.

Michael: When you become a committed christian you are full of the the joy of the Lord. His joy fills you up because you are no longer identified with the world. Christ lives in you now. You don't do, say or even think thoughts that are contrary to what is pleasing to God. That is a very high level, most christians never reach. They remain close to the world(carnal christians)most of their walk with the Lord. They are forgiven and are Christians but they live defeated lives.Hope I have helped some.

Mature means any areas of our lives that we have been delivered and healed in. Have you been delivered from cigarettes, adultery, fornication and so forth. We do mature in areas when we learn the truth and know what pleases and what does not please God. We turn our backs on this particular sin. In other words, we don't deliberately do this particular sin anymore.

define maturity in a christian? how can a christian 'mature' when the message of the gospel always points to sin or that the teachings of the church is vague, abstract & impractical. think of this, one issue has many variables or specifics but the bible is broad & generalize. so how can a christian mature when faced with life's specific problems. oh, just give your tithe & god will take care of everything.

I met a man at a crusade that said
once he totally surrendered to christ
he is full of so much joy. I failed to
ask him how he did it. Anyone know?

#1 As many of you have testified to, I have put away the manna and have been eating of the old corn of Canaan for many years now. I am growing in the full stature of Christ by His grace. I have to say, the more I know the more I know I don't know. The closer I get the closer I want to get to Him. He is grooming me for that rib portion of the body of Christ. He is perfecting His Bride right now and we have to stay nudged up right next to His heart all of the time.

#2 Time is short and she is making herself ready by becoming the image of Him. By the time they are married, no one will be able to tell where He leaves off and she begins. Praise God, think on His marvelous grace!!

Yes. I am learning to forget those things that are behind and press on toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. I don't forget God's benefits yet I yearn to know Him and to be known by Him more everyday. It's all for Him!

I asked the Lord what is the key to walking closely with Him? He led me to buy a conference that I happened to come across, watched all 16 DVD's and these folks are walking in the anointing, in the Glory of God, experiencing creative miracles, revelations, and receiving from the Lord like oil flowing from heaven. Learning to live in His Glory is what I'm learning now and it's awesome.

Last night I received a phone call from an evangelist a friend and I sponsor. He has heard 128 people say, a sinner's prayer with him in the last in 17 days. He told of people actually coming to him and asking him how they can be saved, and then taking him to talk to their family members. This man is a street evangelist. He has no church affiliation. He has no building fund. He has no choir, nor study group. He has a clear message concerning the Gospel and a penetrating question.

Absolutely, I have grown up a lot. Thank you Jesus. Revelationes, wisdom, knowledge, yes. Some is too personal. Knowledge mainly on the word of God. >>>Right now I am on a mission. Or at least I am suppose to treat it as such. Uncomfortable to the flesh. Yes!

Not exactly, but something different is occurring. Three different events in about the last 12 months have really came as surprises to me. For me to outline what these events were would be so self-serving, and apparently prideful, that I'm sure it's better left untold. Yet both myself and my witnessing partner have observed and we wonder about the meaning of them.

Being nurturing with a woman can be for my gratification, and not really loving her, in a relationship. Realizing this was a wake-up call.
