The RCC has been teaching a false gospel for 2000 years.

People and most Christians mistaken the word "church" as a denomination, a building, a non-profit organization. It's non of the above. Church simply means Christian. Christ is not returning soon to join with (marry) a denomination, a building, or a non-profit organization. The names of the churches in the Bible are locations of a group of Christians. That's how I identify the home churches I planted throughout the United States.

These are the good old days.

The real charade is the false peace, peace talks, crying "Peace, peace".

These are the times that try men's souls.
The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot.
The sunshine saint and shunshine patriot.

Frances008, I apologize for anything that I might have said that had offended you.
---Nicole on 4/23/08

frances008:"If the Pope is head of a State, that means that Catholicism is a nationality,"

This does not follow, or as they might say in Vantican City, "Non sequituur."

Since the Dalai Lama is a head of state in exile, does it mean that Buddhism is a nationality?

Since there is the state of Israel, does it mean that Judaism is a state, rather than a religion?
---kumquat on 4/23/08

Nicole and DDM, I am not after being popular on this forum. If I was I would say the things that would get me the most votes. I am after making people look deeply into things, and saving themselves a lot of tragedy by backing the wrong team, and attacking the wrong innocent bystanders in the War on Freedom. I am after them seeing the real terrorists. Sorry if it offends you. It makes me happy to try to protect the innocent and point fingers at the guilty.
---frances008 on 4/23/08

I thank God he had G.W.Bush as Pres.
when we were attacked on 9/11!
We Christians are to Pray for our Leaders, NOT Bash them for things you Don't understand!
We live in a Different World than our Ancestors Did, Were fighting a war where it's not Clear who all the Enemy is, Like in WW1 you knew who the enemy was, same as WW2,
These people are Moles fed BY Radical Muslim Nations, Such as Iran, Syria, Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Ect. ect. ect..

Frances008_You need to reread some of your replies to Alot of things that Emply that if I/we don't listen to you we are Satanist,
You even told Me if I did'nt Listen and Help you I would give account for it on Judgment Day!

Maybe the Mod. Could bring up the Many Replies you've given that pertain to this matter of us Satanist?

Just like the Bush's wearing Black,
You spewed Judgment & condemnation WITHOUT knowing the FACT'S!

Frances008::Don't be sad Be happy Almighty God and the H/Spirit is the head of HIS church matt16:17-19 the Pope is just his rep as I am the rep of my Family.Apostates can always return there is no rule which says otherwise. Its PRIDE & Shame that holds them back. Both Human traits (remember the Prodigal son)
---Emcee on 4/23/08

Frances008,you always put down people who believe inJesus'words ofHis Church as uneducated becauseof this belief.Iam happy/RCC's strengh.Jesus, HEAD of RCC is powerful.1billion strong, very educated & prayful.Did Uknow every coutry-Christians are majority, people have more freedom to worship as theychose(even nonchristians)without fear.HolySee has everyones'back.Theylook at other countries'business for injustices. They even told outcasts in Hindus-India to convert to Muslimfaith for advancement in life.
---Nicole on 4/23/08

Some of you confuse me.You pick & choose whatever fits. You credit the letters more inthe NewTestaments instead of Jesus'words in the Gospel.Matt16:13-19 is clear.Jesus putPeter incharge.Man did not do this. We arenot that clever."The gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it". We should be happy with hope that the only body of state here today as 2000 years ago is the Catholic Church. No other country or Religion can say this. Jewish is longer, but christain are children of Jews.
---Nicole on 4/23/08

Yes, the Catholic faith is very powerful in the world. I expect that makes you happy, Nicole. It makes me sad that so many people (mainly uneducated) have been deceived. However, that is not to say the uneducated are condemned. In fact it works in their favor. About 900 million Catholics??? I am terrible at remembering numbers.
---frances008 on 4/23/08

If the Pope is head of a State, that means that Catholicism is a nationality, or that the Pope is a political leader with a power that is worldly and not spiritual. Jesus said My Kingdom is not of this world.
---frances008 on 4/23/08

Media related to Cheney, 2/3 people not in agreement with policies, he said, "So".

There are things we do not need to know about, keeping this country as safe as it can be. If you don't believe that, load up and head it on down to Mexico where they're literally dying to come here and take your place. Go to Cuba or Haiti. Pack 'em up, no one is begging you to stay.
I like President Bush and Vice President Cheney. All of the 008 James Bond stuff is way over the top.
---lisa on 4/22/08

If Bush and Cheney gave the pope a million kisses and hugs, that's fine with me.
---lisa on 4/22/08

The world is changing rapidly now, and many are falling away. Hold on to the faith that Christ gave you freely

praise be to God that Christ is not owned by any religious organization ...Christ is the Spiritual rock GIVEN freely to all who believe on Him (Mat 7:24,25, Mat 16:18, Luke 8:13, 1Corin 10:4)

The Pope only represents a powerful wealthy political organization using religion to its own device ...these things must come to pass Rev 3:11, 17:4-6, 18:4
---Rhonda on 4/22/08

I didn't see Bush or Cheney bow to the pope, kiss his ring. Cheney's farewell was respectful, with some kind words.
Remember when the Moderator told us Bush would go down as the best president or worst.
It's too soon to tell. Just when you think everything is going to be oh so lovely, looking through our rose colored glasses into the Rose Garden, the next one could be far worse. Every president is tested, every single one of them. Bush is not the worst and I think history will prove that.

So go ahead and bash Bush now, I think a couple of years down the road, you will be wishing we were back in the good old days.
I tell you, these are the good old days compared to what's next.
---lisa on 4/22/08

Holy See means Holy spirit.
---Nicole on 4/22/08

It seems like President Bush is bowing to everything else but to God. A couple of years ago he bowed to the Japanese god and now he bows to another man.

But I don't blame President Bush, I blame the Christians in the United States for not praying for our leaders. Even if one percent of the Christians pray for our leaders, our country would not have the problems it is now facing. Unfortunately, Christians put the blame upon Bush, not upon themsleves.
---Steveng on 4/22/08

Nicole, being a good person is no protection against being deceived. God's house has many mansions and I am sure one is for the good people among those of the Catholic persuasion. I checked youtube and see that there seems to be a general 'habit' (LOL) to wear black when you meet the Pope. I never knew it before yesterday.

.Frances008, Catholic is 17% of the world not the USA. 3/23/08 the media went crazy with joy when the Muslims past Catholics. They are 19% of the world. But Muslims are split as Christians. Sunni and Shiite(sp?) Together they past Catholics. But Christians are 34% of the world.
As for living out our faith, I believe you hope only 1% of Catholics. Sorry again, its 50% of the Catholics in the USA. In fact people who were Catholics & left + those who say they are Catholic now are 70% of the USA.
---Nicole on 4/22/08

Frances008, I was a nun with the Dominican order for 6 years and left due to illness before my final vows. Dominican rule is to study. 4 rules= Pray, study, eat and sleep. When one must be omitted due to time, start from last then move up. Cut on your sleep. Then cut eating, study last. Prayer never is omitted. I say this to let you know that I know many rules with the Vatican. What do you want the Pope to do when people truly don't know the rules. As long as they are descent, the Pope will greet them.
---Nicole on 4/22/08

Nicole said Catholics are about 40 % of Christians. Yes, maybe. But what per cent of the USA population? More like 22 % and they would not all be practising Catholics. I expect practising Catholics would be more like 1 % of the USA.

To me the Pope represents the seat of the Antichrist.
---frances008 on 4/22/08

Nicole, I have never heard that in all my life as a former Catholic from birth. Even when that lady who lost her little girl went to see the Pope with her husband (and they are Catholics unlike the President of the USA) they did not wear black. It is nonsense, with respect.
---frances008 on 4/22/08

What does the "Holy See" really mean?
I've always wondered but was afraid to ask as I don't want the Catholics I know to think I'm asking to make fun of their faith.
---Frank on 4/22/08

frances008: "Why is the Pope, who represents a mere 22 per cent of the USA, mostly non practising Catholics, get greeted like a World Leader?"

Actually, aside from being one of the world's great moral leaders (like it or not), the Pope IS a head of state: namely the head of the State of Vatican City (like it or not).
---kumquat on 4/22/08

frances008 said: "Black stands for hidden, occult, and death."

Is this why grooms wear black?

Is this why orchestral musicians wear black at concerts?

Is this why graduation robes are frequently black?
---kumquat on 4/21/08

President Bush and lady Bush were wearing black because this is what you were when greeting the Pope. No cult but respect. Plus, the Pope is a leader of the smallest country in the world (Vatican city or Holy See.) Also, Catholic are about 40% of Christains not 22%. Other christian religions by themselves are single digits %. Only all put together can pass the numbers of Catholic christians.
Bush was not bowing to the Pope but to his Office as Vicar of Christ on Earth.

Why did Mr, Mrs, and daughter Bush all wear BLACK to greet the Pope off the plane. I think that is extremely revealing. Black stands for hidden, occult, and death. Why is the Pope, who represents a mere 22 per cent of the USA, mostly non practising Catholics, get greeted like a World Leader?

Thanks Barbara, Good to see your posts! I remember when you went to Oregon to help your mom - in law. Guess you decided to stay. Beautiful country. My daughter April and her Husband put Oregon on hold. There music is taking off. How's your brother doing? I think I'm losing my New Yoik accent. Sounding more like I'm from North or South Kackalackie! Ho doogie!

In some countries an embrace with kisses on both cheeks is the normal greeting. Hand shaking ,bowing etc is the norm in other societies. So long as it isn't an "act of worship" then no harm is done!

I have no idea. Was he photographed bowing to him? That was the only way we could know.

1) Praise God John, that God showed you the truth regarding calling no man "father". said you are from NY now living in NC? I was born/raised in NY...moved to Miami, Florida when I was 19, lived there 24 yrs then moved to NC (western part of the state, in the mountains) and lived there for 3 1/2 years and now live in Southern California for 4 years. All this to say a big "howdy" to another native New Yorker!!!! From a former NYer and NCer! :-)
---Holly4jc on 4/17/08

2) I'll be going back to Florida/North Carolina in the beginning of May. I don't miss FL but sure miss NC. FL is way too hot and humid not to mention severely lacking mountains (I just LOVE mtns). The ONLY reason I am going back to Florida at all is that my daughter is graduating Law School. I am very proud of her...she's worked hard. I tease her and tell her..."just what the world needs, one more lawyer!! Try and stay nice!" I work in a law I have lots of experience with their kind!

Reading the comments, reminds me,again, how much, even our religious views and beliefs are influenced by our political associations and our political systems. This man or that is good or bad, or is acceptable or not, based almost entirely on our mundane attachments and involvements. The core principles of Godliness, Justice, Respect, Compassion, Kindness, Integrity and Gratitude, are relegated to the convenient place of religious worship.
---Janze on 4/17/08

I think even having the Pope speak from the White House or where ever they were,is too much like mixing Church and State. I don't think Bush should bow down or any type action that may be viewed as religious. Let the Popes own religious community honor him but not USA Political Leaders treat him as a head of State. Even though it is Vatican City,it isn't a Country and it isn't secular as Countries are.

Yo, NVBarbara! This is John from NY, now living in NC for the last 12 1/2 years. I haven't been here for quite some time (busy like a bee) "How are yoos guy's doin?" HA! I'm glad that your still here. You light up this blog everytime I come back here. Love you Barb.

Hi SusieArizona!
Now you won't be confused with other Susies, which was your concern.
I know what it is like because there was another Alan, and some here thought it was me, and as his views were very different, it was confusing!!

John::37 years- what a waste of Time when we cant use simple civilities to prove ourselves as Christians. If I made a trip to your town or city I guess there would be some who would view me suspiciously, some would not care yet some with intelligent Breeding would be Courteous.I believe that is How we would accept Jesus if He Visited and in disguise. We have lost much in the transition.Politeness does not cost a cent but it does gain Friends.
---Emcee on 4/16/08

If your a Christian, like myself, the Pope is no better or higher up in God's eye's, than us. The Catholic church (I was a Catholic for 37 years) calls him "The Holy Father". Call no man Father, but your Father in heaven. If your a true Christian, you know this to be true. The world is changing rapidly now, and many are falling away. Hold on to the faith that Christ gave you freely.

He's meeting with the head of state, who also happens to be the head of a religion. Presidents meet with heads of state all the time. It has no meaning other than political.

It's just confusing to those of us living in a country that professes separation of church and state--we have a hard time keeping the politician separate from the clergyman. (And believe me, the Pope has ALWAYS been a politician. It's an essential part of the job. Though some do it better than others, of course.)
---Nancy on 4/16/08

How I thank the media for finally showing us who is the real 'god' of this world. How apt that he should be honored at the White House. More like the Black House. All the Satanists partying together.
---frances008 on 4/16/08

"Test every spirit". That is what we are commanded to do through the Word of God.

I may not believe in the idols that the Catholics promote and bow to but I do know that this pope is NOT Pope John Paul II so I wish you all would cut him some slack.

There are a lot of differences between one who sets himself up as an idol, much like Pope John Paul did and Pope Benedict who truly believes he's doing the Lord's work, even if we know better.

Pray for him.

Susie ... You are quite right, because I could write as, for example, "Susie".
But that would be deliberately pretending to be yiu.
I don't think that often happens here, although there is one poster with a common name, who regularly accuses anyone else of the same name of impersonation, when it is clearly innocent.
I have never had anyone pretending to be me, so I rthibnk it is probably be the best thing for yuo to do, to have your own special name.
---alan_of_UK on 4/16/08

The pope is no friend of America and he is a positive influence only for those opposed to the true gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a supporter of the enemies of America and hates our republican (even though it really isn't much any more) form of govt. Those catholics do not even know they are being betrayed by their own "leader." Do some research on how ol' pope praised Castro.
---ShaunT on 4/16/08

The Bible talks about not bowing down to idols. Those things are clearly not from GOD.

Bowing to a messenger, who I believe was appointed by GOD, is nothing more than respecting GOD.

The RCC and the Pope, while far from perfect, are one of the few remaining sources of positive influence today.
The USA needs that positive influence.

President Bush should show respect to GOD's messenger who has what this nation needs.

If President Bush bowing down to the Pope is bad, then ... what about my bowing down to ???

I've been to funerals for friends and relatives. What about kneeling at funeral homes or at church weddings?

Was showing some respect for deceased and married folks sinful?

I didn't put those people above GOD in my heart, so I KNOW that my bowing down was not idolatry.

President Bush would be showing the Pope some "respect" by bowing down. The Pope isn't any kind of idol.

"Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor." (Romans 13:7)

The Pope is a world reputed dignitary who is a *legal* authority figure who is therefore to be treated with respect. There are evil political leaders who I would also show respect by bowing or shaking hands, whatever the custom. I also BOW in cultural respect to Orientals I pass on the street.
---Bill_bila5659 on 4/16/08

I have had the opportunity to read many of the blogs posted on this site, and I have concluded that there is as much confusion among christians as there is among people who do not believe. Instead of raising the issue of whether Bush is bowing to the Pope or not, I would like to suggest that we take a long and honest look at the nature of God and His Grace. That exercise would necessarily improve the manner in which we view and treat each other. Janze

Bush,I hope Not,prob so many has & are So Blind Not knowing who & what the pope stands for. For catholocism is 'Man-made religion & NOT God's'. (Idol worship & in Reve 17 v's 4-6 & with other scriptures)is just like Jesus said in Matt. 15 v 9. God's Church was born on the day of Pentecost,Acts 2 v's 37-39 which fulfills Matt 28 v's 19-20,which was delievered to the Jewish people First by Apostle Peter. For catholocism came a number of years later aft the day of Penecost.

This question reminds me of an incident where Betty Ford curtsied to the Queen of England. My mother who was a flag-waving patriot with many military men in her background(ancestry). Had this to say about that. Shoot Mrs. Ford on the tarmac, we Americans don't to anyone but Jesus. I should also mention that my mother was full-blood Irish.
