Zechariah 14 is not the same as if Israel had stayed true. ---
---Samuelbb7 on 10/3/14

Samuel, this comment is concerning to me. If read carefully, Zechariah 12-14 is about an Israel who had NOT stayed true, just as God knew beforehand when He foretold it. It tells about their own consequences, and parallels Matthew 24-25 re FLEEING, where Jesus in Matthew 24-25 reiterate what was already foretold in Zechariah 12-14. Are you saying God's Word and Prophecies changed and can change depending on what man does or doesn't. The promises and prophecies in the OT still have many to be fulfilled, and were NOT done away at the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but can only be fulfilled AFTER Jesus death and resurrection.

WRONG, it was only revealed to Paul.
When the risen Christ revealed to Paul, the catching up of the boC,(1 Cor , 1 Thess) darby, macdonald, and schofield hadn't made your commetaries yet.

I believe the Bible. I know what Joint Heir and overcomers mean.
.///

Samuel, Zechariah 12-14 describe the second coming when the GLORIFIED Jesus touches down on the mount of Olives. There will be a day, that there will be no evening. THEY look on Him whom they have pierced and mourn. "WE" will be REJOICING when we see Jesus Christ.

no one is going to be a Joint Heir in the New Heaven and earth. Salvation is not INHERITED, nor did Jesus INHERIT SALVATION. He inherited the Kingdoms of "this" world. Rev 11. and will rule 1000 years as KING over all the earth at that time, and WE His Body will reign and rule with Him at that time. No one is going to RULE over another in Heaven.

Zechariah 14 is not the same as if Israel had stayed true. The New Jerusalem will be on earth and we will be with JESUS because we are saved by the atoning death of JESUS as shown by the resurrection. Also you have to add Isaiah 66 as a companion verse to Zechariah.
The Second Coming follows the Tribulation where the wrath of GOD is poured out on the Nations. But it does not fall on the Christians. Just like the plagues did not fall on Israel during the preparation for the Exodus.
Thessalonians explains that we will be taken up just like Matthew 24 pictures. So since both refer to the second coming that must be true.

\\Correct

---michael_e on 10/1/14\\

WRONG!

It wasn't revealed to St. Paul.

It was never heard of at all until a spiritist and medium named Margaret Macdonald heeded demons that peeped, muttered, and deluded her revealed it in 1830.

It was popularized by John Darby and C. I. Schofield (who was a Mason, btw).

No, St. Paul did not reveal a pre-trib rapture at all.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Samuel, this is what I believe, taught to me by the Lord, not man.

The second Coming is spoken in Matthew 24-25, and Zechariah 12-14. It follows the Wrath of God, where Jesus returns to earth as KING, for 1000 years, of which after, the Kingdom is delivered up to the Father (1 Cor 15 explains in detail) so God can be all in all. WE the CHURCH are translates out before that great and terrible day of the Lord...His wrath...( we are saved from the wrath to come) Thessalonians explains, WE are translated out to meet the Lord in the clouds TO FOREVER BE WITH THE LORD, and return with Him in Glorified Bodies, to reign and rule with Christ 1000 years. It's all in Scripture.
---katnr4453 on 10/3/14

Samuel, unless one KNOWS, what , let's say, "JOINT HEIR" means, or, " those who suffer with Him will be Glorified together WITH HIM, or say, " those who, overcome will sit on MY throne with me, the way I sit at My Fathers Throne....tells US something more is going on here.

We are Joint Heirs in the Earthly Kingdom, where Jesus Christ will have His own Earthly Throne as prophesied in the OT, and was not done away at His death and resurrection, but SECURED THROUGH HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION. And anyone can see, Zechariah 14 is not the New Heaven and earth. There us no sun or moon in the new, or sabbath keeping, or THREATS IF EGYPT refuses to come and worship. Is this YOUR idea of the New heaven and Earth? NOT mine?
---kathr453 on 10/3/14

Dear Kathyr what do you believe?

Yes the Second Coming is visible to the whole world and it is when JESUS comes to take the redeemed to heaven and his feet do not touch the ground then.

Matthew 24:31

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

This is the rapture and it is also the Second Coming. The wicked will cry for the rocks and mountains to fall on them and be destroyed by it.

2Thesolians 1:7

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

So explain your understanding.

And so, if we love these servants, why would we want to not be on earth to help them? Paul says he would love to die and be with Jesus, "Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you." (Philippians 1:24) So, why are people wanting to believe Jesus will take us and leave newborn Christians on their own in the trib?

---com7fy8 on 10/2/14

I don't believe it comes down to what one "WANTS" to believe, but believing what God said. There are all sorts of things I WANT to believe, but if it's not scripture, it doesn't matter.
---kathr4453 on 10/2/14

In Revelation chapter seven > there will be 144,000 serving God. So, if they are serving God and are "sealed", I can see this means they will have the Holy Spirit.

"Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." (in Romans 8:9)

And there will be the two witnesses. I would say they will be full of the Holy Spirit, while on earth in the great tribulation.

Samuel, The translation of the Church is not called the Second Coming , seeing Christ dies not touch down on earth at that time, but lifts/translates us out. And agree it is not a secret, as Paul shows in Thessalonians a very distinct separation of these two events.
---kathr4453 on 10/2/14

As long as there are Christians here there will be the HOLY SPIRIT here.

There is no pretribulation rapture since the next time JESUS comes here is the Second Coming.

You cannot have a first then a not second then the Second coming. It does not work.

No the Holy Spirit is not drawing away from the earth. The Holy Spirit indwells the Body of Christ, that is the Church, ..still here on earth. But it could be, as in the time of Noah where there are very few christians today who have not committed adultry with the world and compromised by becoming so worldly, that our presence here is little felt.

Just like Noah and family, there will always be the faithful and true, whom God will never leave or forsake, but be saved and or removed from His final wrath to come.

The Holy Ghost will leave when those are caught up to be with Jesus in the clouds, n the door to salvation Acts 2 v 38 will be closed to the gentiles. The Holy Spirit isn't in the "earth" it is in the MINDS of TRUE Christians

The Holy Spirit dwells in the minds of true Christians who will be PROTECTED during the great tribulation just like God protected ancient Israel ...the rapture is a man made fairy tale unsupported by scripture ...remember Christ comes to resurrected the dead and CHANGE the living in HIM AFTER the LAST TRUMP it's so simple it's almost impossible to miss that crucial point in Gods Word

The will of God, is believe his word!
The lord is this word!

He said
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

For the love of God, believe his son!
Truly love your brother!!!
Amen

On the contrary, the Holy Spirit will draw near to you, if you draw near to him. He will not live in an unclean temple. If anyone or any group continue to refuse him, he will write Ichabod over the door, meaning, the glory of God, has departed. This is a sad time, for anyone, that claims to be serving him.

Just as the Holy Spirit was sent at Pentecost to form the Church, baptizing believers into the Body of Christ being sealed in the Holy Spirit of promise...His Church...His Bride, His Body will be taken out of teh way..but the Holy Spirit will not be removed from teh earth during the great tribulation....because the Gospel will be preached by the 144,000 still on earth. The source of the belief that the Holy Spirit leaves the earth in the last days is the following:

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

The Holy Spirit is not named, but it is assumed that He is the one...who now letteth, until he be taken....

Seems to me like kind of a weak basis on which to base an entire doctrine, but that's my opinion. Many churches teach it.

Lawrence, I am curious, upon what exactly are you basing these statements? Thanks in advance for your response and references.

In the New Testament,it's The Holy Ghost. Man calls it The Holyspirit. The Holy Ghost will leave when the raprure takes place. It will leave an individiual because of that person blaspheming The Holy Ghost.
Even though the word rapture is Not found in scriptues(I've Not found it in scriptures), it's the secret calling away of His chosen ones.

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,

Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Mat 21:22 and all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

It is done! Believe.

Todd1: "In the last days I think God's Spirit will be drawn away from the world..."

God said that He will pour out His Spirit in the last days. Unfortunately, even the majority of Christians will not receive His spirit. Surely love has waxed cold even by the Christians caused by the false teaching of your denominational churches.

If you truly want to mature in Christ look for the benefits of joining or starting a home church. If you don't believe what I say, search for the phrases "one another" and "each other" to see if your denomination churches are doing what is commanded. Today's denominational churches have Christians who are only hearers of the word.

I recently have been delivered from my hardened heart and I believe that only the Holy Spirit could have pulled that miracle off in my life. Call on his name, ask for his help, he is still there.
---TIMOTHY on 7/25/08

You know, until I started to answer this question I didn't realize how much I truly believe it to be true. Matthew 24:12 describes this generation perfectly "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.". It's really happening...it's getting so close...the conditions are all coming together.

Jesus compared the last days to the days of Noah...when God said "My Spirit will not always strive with man"...The Spirit pleaded with people for 120 years and then God sealed the door to the ark and those outside were lost. When the rain came it was too late. In the last days I think God's Spirit will be drawn away from the world and stop "wooing" the lost to come to Christ...once the plagues start to fall. Those who are lost are lost, those who are saved are saved, see rev 22:11
---Todd1 on 5/21/08

Yes. Those of us who are of the "older" generation remember a time when most people were of a much different character than today's average. When I was young, we never locked the doors of our home - there was no need to. Strangers, as well as neighbors, were kind and helpful. Hitchhikers were never a threat. Most everyone was industrious. No one was paid to be lazy. I think we are indeed in the last days.

Kella,

Nowhere in the scriptures do I read where the Holy Spirit will draw away from the earth. I do read where evil men will wax worse and worse Tim 3:13.

I also read that the Holy Spirit abides with us forever - John 14:16. (On a side note, that means Once Saved Always Saved). That is he takes up residence in our heart. He will not leave us nor forsake us.

Also remember this, Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! - Heb 13:8
---trey on 5/19/08

Notice all through Acts each person was converted before they received the Holy Spirit. The moment they were converted they got born-again or baptized into the body of Christ. Now, the "gift" is so misunderstood that it ain't funny. Some believe that tongues is only for some because the context always says "gift". God gives the gift of tongues or the baptism in the Holy Spirit w/ evidence in speaking in other tongues to those who ask(request & demand) from Him. (Luke 11:13)

Rhonda, I appreciate your reply, but the water baptism isn't required for salvation. ie. If a person confessed Jesus as Lord(Romans 10:9-10) and then died suddenly would he/she go to hell because they didn't get water baptized? No.

The bible lists several baptisms:
1. New birth (John 3:3-5, 1Corinthians 12:13)
2. Water baptism
3. Holy Spirit baptism(Matt. 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 1:33)

Gift of Holy Spirit given to those who repent and baptized (Acts 2:38, John 4:10)

Holy Spirit is Gods Spirit dwelling within true Christians MINDS (Rom 8:9, 1John 3:24)

Emcee, in the context of that story it wasn't New Testament. Think about it, Jesus hadn't even been born yet, His blood hadn't been shed in order to start a New Covenant.

He overshadowed her, true. But it was temporary. We permanently have Him, the Holy Spirit, in us.(John 14:16)

Rhonda, that is what I am talking about. Yes, He is in every believer, but many ignore Him.
The bible says, " grieve not the Holy Spirit".(Ephesians 4:30)
To grieve is like choking up, denying, or constipating. Many times He wants to do things, but by folks coming to church unprepard(not spending time w/ Him daily)they are in the flesh & don't sense Him.
---Rickey on 5/13/08

Rhonda, have you ever been constipated? What happens? You can't use the restroom, correct? Well the same applies the Him, the Holy Spirit, at times. He desires to minister to the people of God, but because of unbelief, sin, & not spending time w/ Him, He is constipated from ministering.

Remember when Jesus wanted to do miracles, but COULD NOT because their unbelief?(Matthew 13:58) Same applies to Him, the Holy Spirit, ministering in the church or at home. Well, this is not true. The Person of the Holy Spirit only lives in God's people. As long as the church remains so shall the holy spirit remain. Reply to your question, Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, it only dwells in places where there is truth because God himself is the Truth. If a church has not been preaching the Truth, the Holy Spirit will not dwell in that church which also means God will not dwell in/with that church and the people. However if the church preaches nothing but the Truth and do it, without adding or subtracting from what the Bible teaches, the Holy Spirit will dwell in/with them.

The Holy Spirit is not drawing away from the world. The world is drawing away from it.

Despite all of this, the Lord is continuously drawing His loving creation toward Him so we may be sealed with the Holy Spirit (Jeremiah 31:3). The seal of the Holy Spirit is God's solemn promise of our eternal inheritance, until the day of redemption (Ephesians1:13-14).

When Jesus left this earth He sent the Holy Spirit. When He comes back in the air for His church, the Holy Spirit will leave with us. The Holy Spirit is now preparing the "church" for Jesus' return.

No the Holy Spirit/Ghost isn't in the Earth, he is in God's people. As long as people are repenting of sin and coming to Christ the HS still has a job to do on Earth. I believe there are many denominations who have drawn away from the full power and manifestation of the HS therefore they deny the HS the freedom to do all God intends for HS to do,empowerment and move through His people.

NO He is not. Jesus said the Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of Sin and He leads us and guides us into all truth. If He goes, where would that leave Christians who have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? Would he just take off and leave them high and dry? What many churches believe this? They are cults or teaching false doctrine.

I just heard another false doctrine being preached on National TV on Sunday Morning. This man said the bible says to "Walk by the Spirit" but the bible doesn't tell us how. Oh really? That's a lie. God would NEVEr tell a believer to Walk by His Spirit and not tell us how. It's easy, read the word and you'll find out HOW. Amen?

No, the Holy Spirit is being poured out like never before, it is people's hearts and minds that are turning away from the calling of the Holy Spirit. And many churches are helping to turn people away by the teachings that focus on Prosperity,(self-centeredness) and what God can do for you. This is a false teaching and many are being lead astray by it. Only when the Rapture takes place will the Holy Spirit be taken out of the Earth.

The topic question is best answered by saying it is just the opposite of the percieved disengagement to mankind.

As long as people grow in their manifestation of the fruits of the Spirit, I do not see that it would fully meaningful to say the Holy Spirit is withdrawing. A dynamic and deepening love in practice is key.
