I totally agree with Elder and Bill. Cast them out by the authority of the Word and keep on steppin'. Trying to fight a demon is like beating the air. You have standing up (in your imagination) something Jesus already defeated. Enforce the defeat and don't be deceived from the simplicity that is in Christ. Anything that takes your focus off Him is a distraction. Distraction leads to discouragement, discouragement to depression, depression to defeat, and defeat to death. At the very moment of distraction, you already have an imagination exalting itself against the knowledge of God. It is far more important to deal with your imagination than to study the demons.

Gods Word does not instruct us to "see how demons operate" ...attending a freak show like this demonstrates how far people are willing to go to entertain the very things we are to remove from our lives

Christ told us to PRAY to God The Father to KEEP US FROM EVIL ...if you are praying every day to God The Father through Christ why would you have little faith in HIM who has no faith in God needs to see what demons are all about

...we can do ALL things through Christ but nothing tells us to go check out demons and how they operate serve Satan by entertaining demons NOT God

Trust in God to deliver you from evil ...not the workings of evil men on earth who hold these freak show meetings to uncover demons

PUL-EEZE! Allow me to make something clear that seems to have some of the bloggers stumped! About the girl who was seeing demons and was so frightened that she couldn't move. Listen--it was seeing the demons that was frightening her into IMMOBILITY. not the fact that there may have been cult activity in her lineage. I only mentioned Free Masonery, because this cult has damaged more children than any other legally accepted Charity (?) There are more. But it was the demons frightening her--not the Masons, possibly in her generations! Am I clear now?

Donna, there is NOTHING FUNNY when it comes to needing deliverance from devils. One third of God's angels rebelled against God in conspiracy with satan and they were cast out of Heaven.THEY ARE HERE! Spiritual Warfare is more active in these last days, that in all history. I know people who are in torment and it is not LOL. Be sober, be vigilant, for satan walks about as a Roaring LION seeking someone to devour! I don't like the topic any more than you do, but as Derek Prince said, they must be dealt with and we can not ignore thier existance.Read the NT.

That's creepy, didn't know it was real thing!

"the joy of the LORD is your strength" (in Nehemiah 8:10) > we let so many things DECOY our attention and our souls away from God, then wonder how come we have the problems we do (o:

"'You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.'"
(Isaiah 26:3)

"I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven," Jesus says in Luke 10:18. Heaven so sweet and beautifully wonderful in love has absolute power to cast Satan out like lightning. So does God's peace in us.

I'd tell them to think about a person that can shapeshift, become angry at the slightest provocation. Extreme anger is a sign of demon activity. Anger always comes with a demon. You won't a demon that doesn't become angry. They serve the father of all anger, and lies.

Shapeshift, throw themselves on the floor, slither like a snake or contort their face like an animal. Demons are demonic creatures that can tear when coming out.
If you don't know what you're doing, you have no business trying to cast out demons, a novice or inexperienced person could get the demon possessed person hurt.

When the Jews fought the way God told them to fight, the enemy was either dying or fleeing, essentially. But when a country does not fight in obedience to God, we have seen how things go.

"nor give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27) Give no place, whatsoever, to Satan . . . in our thoughts, emotions, feelings, wherever.

"I will not be brought under the power of any." (in 1 Corinthians 6:12) Do not let anything have power over you to get you worried, depressed, unforgiving, nastily self-righteous, dominating, arguing (Philippians 2:14), etc.

"Freely you have received, freely give." (in Matthew 10:8)

Donna...You are so right. Spiritual wisdom is great. But, it comes from the HOLY SPIRIT, not from other people.
---SusieB on 6/28/08

Knowledge is good, but spiritual wisdom is better.
---Donna on 6/27/08

Knowledge is good. God uses people sometimes to help out. I would just love to go. I can not think of a better subject on demons than how they operate. Very interesting. Perhaps a good indepth study on their weaknesses and strengths. The more knowledge that God will aford you the better.

Would someone please tell me why the modern-day Christians think they have to go to weekend conferences to learn about the Word of God?????
---SusieB on 6/26/08

Because you should not rely on your own understanding, but on God's understanding.

The Lord made communities to help us help each other.

Plus, weekend conferences (We call them retreats) reminds us that we need to be cautions ALWAYS.

Helps us tune our Focus more on Jesus.

There is the battle for our *attention*. We must win this battle. "Therefore submit to God," we have in James 4:7. If we submit to God, truly, we are staying attentive to Him, all the time, sensing for and submitting to how He shares with us in His love, and how He guides us . . . including how He guides our *attention*.

"'You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.'"
(Isaiah 26:3)

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

Always stay attentive to how He is ruling you in His peace, and enjoy (o:

"Therefore submit to God.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

We *first* need to submit to God so we are with Him in His power almighty to make Satan flee. This includes getting rid of any nasty nonsense and unforgiveness that keeps us from being in the power of God's love.

The Holy Spirit is "living waters" (John 7:37-39) who can *flush* Satan's cruel filth > In moments, I have been cleared of rage, depression, different sorts of perverted stuff, unforgiveness > it is easy for God.

Use your toilet (o: Don't take it out on others. Don't hold it in. God can flush all that stuff to the flaming sewer which burns with fire and brimstone.

If I were asked to do a weekend long conference on Spiritual Warfare, I would find scripture regarding this and read them over and over until the crowd got the point. Why do Christians think they have to go hear someone tell them how to battle the Satanic forces? It's all right there in the Bible. The first scripture that comes to mind is, "Resist the devil and he must flee."
---SusieB on 6/23/08

The best info that I can give you is this Donna. Its a 'parable' of sorts.

If you work in a bank you are required to study REAL currancy of all denominations until the images are 'burned' into your brain. Never do you study counterfiet money!
However, with the image of the REAL in your mind you can spot a fake in a heartbeat.

Such as it is with things of a spiritual nature.
Study the REAL (God's word) and if the false presents itself, you will spot it immediately!
God bless.

Formulas, fighting the devil. "It is finished."

Shield of faith, God's word, quench ALL fiery darts of the wicked one. Curses will run off of you.

Shield of doubt/unbelief quenches all the blessings of God. Cast out unbelief before you fight fiery serpents. Unbelief stirs the devil, brings the snakes out.

Fiery serpents bit Israelites. Snakes were there along, it was questioning God, doubt/unbelief that permitted snakes to bite.

Jesus tasted death. He destroyed it, paralyzed devil's power over you. Doubt and unbelief stirs up the devil.
We overcome devil by Blood of the Lamb, Word of our testimony.
Enforce what Jesus did before you teach formulas how to fight the devil.

I think anyone who is alive knows how the enemy works against them.
Concentrating your efforts on how the enemy works is asking for confusion, he is the author of confusion. Instead of a spiritual warface weekend, how 'bout "How to live a victorious life" and keep it, weekend?
---Elder on 6/17/08

Elder, you are the right type of thinking Christian that makes Satan happy. You act as if satan is no longer trying to destroy us as in the Garden of Eden.
Satan is defeated, but not dead.
Sometimes, those who are defeated and realize this, do more harm to unsuspecting nonbelievers.
Have you heard of 'satan now wears a business suit'?

NVBarbara is right you need to read "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis.
The demons in these letters are speaking about persons such as yourself.

Satan is no longer traveling back and forth into heaven..."

Elder: After being thrown out of God's Heaven & exiled to the earth realm (Job 1:7), did Satan really have the authority & ability to go back? I've heard some preachers say God summoned Satan (Job 1:6), but Scripture doesn't definitively support their claims.

What say you ol' dude? :)
---Leon on 6/18/08

Elder, okay all of that strengthens my inner man because I believe what you are saying, but how will that knowledge help me when someone attacks me and is yielding to the devil? My own family member has a viscous root of bitterness and that demon rises up and manipulates emotions and starts ruining the people's reputation that say anything she doesn't agree with. She viscously attacks them verbally to about 20 other people. I want to use everyday tactics to show how to resist the devil. Your knowledge is good, but can't put it into practice when being attacked.
---donna8365 on 6/18/08

Twenty years ago, everyone was teaching spiritual warfare, fighting the devil and demons.

Jesus Christ defeated satan, He destroyed and paralyzed him.

C.S. Lewis or any other author, especially the author of confusion can't hold a candlestick to the Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

Satan is no longer traveling back and forth into heaven as it was in the days of Job. Jesus removed the devil's authority to do so, we are in the New Covenant now. We have a far better covenant than Job ever had. That needs to be settled first and foremost, or you will continue believing that satan is traveling back and forth, standing before the Throne, meeting with God, he cannot. Jesus destroyed his authority to do so.
---Elder on 6/18/08

Elder, Didn't Job think it was God causing all of the havoc in his life? Wasn't it Job who said, Though HE slay me, yet will I trust Him." And yet God wasn't the one slaying him....if Job recognized it was the enemy, don't you think he would have prayed differently, and instead of spending 42 chapters complaining, wouldn't he have cried out for Mercy to God? "Have Mercy Upon me Oh Lord, for the enemy is attacking me." Short and simple and his problem would have been solved, amen?

It's not a matter of knowing how much the enemy hates us, it's a matter of knowing his tactics, and how to pray in the midst of that. Wasn't it Esther who called a fast when she found out who her enemy was? Hayman was going to kill all of the Jews in the nation - if Esther didn't recognize this, and call a fast, what would have happened to that nation?
---donna8365 on 6/18/08

One last comment please? I think Jesus was the only one who knew HOW to do Spiritual Warfare. And that's the revelation I want to bring out in my weekend conference. Just because the bible tells us "we wrestle not against flesh and blood" and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, etc., doesn't mean these scriptures are encouraging us to "Fight" the devil....we are to submit therefore to God, then resist the devil. The church has this backwards, woudln't you think?
---donna8365 on 6/18/08

Read "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis.
Its VERY helpful in understanding how the enemy hates us, and will do anything to squash our faith.

Off subject for a moment to share some info w/Elder.

"Our study indicates that coffee consumption does not have a detrimental effect," Lopez-Garcia, whose research appears in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine, said in a telephone interview. "It seems like long-term coffee consumption may have some beneficial effects."

I have cut out coffee except my 2 cups in the morning. I like my 'Earl Grey' or Green tea in the afternoons & evenings.

If you can't make a mistake Moderator, you can't make anything. :)

"Warface" does bring up some very interesting images, i.e., defiant scowls & war paint, e.g.,characters in Mad Max movies & Mel Gibson as William Wallace (Braveheart).

I believe the most important point: Be filled with, don't play with fire. (Jer. 20:8, Acts 2:1-4 & 19:1-20).
---Leon on 6/17/08

Elder, don't you think it's a good idea to know how your enemy operates against you? For example, I went into a state of shock and despair when my own cousin betrayed me and people lied about me and I couldn't convince them they were believing lies. Once I realized we wrestle not against flesh and blood, I began to pray in the Spirit. Nothing to do with fear. Just keeping the gates of hell away from me. THAT'S what I mean by Spiritual Warfare...cabesh? That means understand? in
---donna8365 on 6/17/08

Elder, I know you are a spiritual man said anything about casting the demons out? Do you really think that I'm going to mess with people's demons? That's a man's job. I know I'm going to get flack for saying that, but I feel an ANOINTED man of God should do that just like I was set free through Wyn Worley's ministry in 1983 and 1984. Seek the Deliverer and HE will provide the Deliverance, not me. I just provide the tools, the knowledge to know what's operating and how it operates.

I have one more thing to add and then I'm done. The people who argue the most about NOT to teach others about how demons operate are the ones that usually need to be delivered the most. LOL!!!! Funny, but true, wouldn't you agree? ELDER? LOL

Sorry about the typo. It does sound like an interesting weekend based upon the typo :)
---Moderator on 6/17/08

It is giving too much place to the devil.
If you have someone filled with fear trying cast out demons everywhere they look, it could push someone over the edge.
There are some that have a God given ability to cast out demons. It's similar to teaching someone how to speak in tongues. Some things can not be taught, but have to be "caught" by the Holy Spirit. Being led of the Spirit.
---Elder on 6/17/08

You folks are too funny. I'm hysterical laughing over here. MODERATOR: Can you correct your spelling please? To me, Spiritual Warfare is spending lots and lots of time in God's presence, worshipping Father God and Jesus His Son, praying in the Spirit, etc., I was only going to mention, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers" and then go onto teaching about our weapons that God gave to us...the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, etc.,

Hi Donna 8365,
I do not think I would focus on how demons operate. Many times christians give way too much attention to satan and demons. With that said, I would focus on the spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting, etc because these are the weapons of our warfare. These things bring the mind and flesh under subjection. It is knowing and obeying the word of God that help us resist and overcome satan and demons not knowing how they work.

Actually, I'm over the slice of coffee 'round bout the campfire scene.
I'm trading in coffee for tea. Coffee spikes your blood pressure. The doc says that too much coffee can make you fat, as it messes with your blood sugar over the long haul. Something called the metabolic syndrome - belly fat. There are reports it prevents diabetes, but too much coffee is bad. So I'm giving up coffee for tea.
---Elder on 6/17/08

One small note about putting on the spiritual warface. Coffee won't ward off demons, neither will garlic. I would tell them "this" kind may not come out but by prayer and fasting. If you do find someone for show and tell, make sure it's not the pastor.
---Elder on 6/17/08

I can't get passed the "WARFACE" to even think of this seriously!
Also, maybe too much of Elder's coffee!
I can only think of Cowboy and Indian movies with all that warpaint!
