Job Of New Christians
Most Christians stop at being baptised with water in the name of Jesus Christ. But there is another baptism, the baptism of the Holy Spirit who is able to work through Christians to perform miracles greater than Jesus. It's unfortunate that Christians today lack the faith to perform such miracles.
So, for the newly born and weak Christians: we are told to love God and to love our neighbor, but how? Do an online bible search for "one another" and "each other" to find out HOW to do the two commandments Jesus spoke of. And remember: do everything to glorify God, not man. If you clean tables at a restaurant, clean them to glorify God, not the boss.

We are to "love the Lord thy God with ALLL of thine heart, mind and soul."
We are to be his sons and daughters...the Lord isn't looking for workers, but rather a Son and a Daughter and He will lead you and guide you into all truth.
If we sit at his feet and fellowship/talk with Him and tell him how much we love Him, and "dote" on Him, I bet that touches God's heart in such a special way, that He wants to pick you up and hug you and bless you and comfort you and care for you all the days of your life.

Institutional Christianity is formed around the "strong delusion" (the strong delusion is NOT a future event, it has been in effect all throughout history).
We are to LOVE God, not simply 'faith' Him. I have faith in the laws of physics, but I DON'T LOVE THEM.
The correct way to UNDERSTAND scripture is not to INTERPRET it to mean whatever you or anyone else WANT it to mean...
"Therefore do not be foolish, but UNDERSTAND what the WILL (likes/dislikes/desires) of the Lord is".
Take great care in your devotion/relationship, the institutional teachings of Christianity (modern day Pharisees) will mislead you. Do not have an IDENTICAL relationship, have a PERSONAL relationship.

We as Christians are to pray and in doing so, grow in relationship with Christ. We are to spread to gospel, minister, testify to what Christ has done in our lives what we have seen/heard. We have to strive each day to over come our sins. Just because we are saved doesn't mean we are sinless. NONE are sinless. 1 John 1:8-10 But be in working process everyday. Get involved with your church.
And every persons prayers are different. Like me I want everything cover. So I cover me my family friends etc...in the blood of Jesus, may no weapon form against us prosper, to remove demons away so they can't see or hear the issues in our lives so they can't use them against us. Pray according to your needs and learn to allow the spirit to pray for you.

"Also wants to know what he should pray for." Allow the Holy Spirit to guide.
"Be 'careful'- anxious or frustrated- for nothing, but in 'every thing' - that concerns you - by 'prayer' - communion in recognition and realization of your own limitations and the Father's ability and willingness to compensate - and 'supplications' - sincere requests for help in your time of need or uncertainty- with thanksgiving, let your 'request' - desire - be made known unto Him. And He will 'keep'- guard and protect - your 'heart'- central focus - and 'mind' - thoughts - through Christ Jesus. Ref Phil.4:6,7

The job of a new Christian is to learn well to have a deep devotion to THE LORD, not to the brethren, not to pastors or scholars or the bible (the bible did not die on the cross or create anything, neither did the brethren hang on the cross).
You must do the "works of God" (John 6:28) by trusting that HE did everything necessary for us to have salvation (Luke 3:6, 2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Ephesians 1:14).
"WALK BY THE SPIRIT" (Galatians 5:16 and 25). After learning the introductory doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1)...the "WORD OF TRUTH" (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6), you must move on to a more mature relationship/devotion by learning the "SWORD OF THE SPIRIT" (Ephesians 6:17).

Mankind has always taken the 3 gifts of God to all humanity...
1) creation (Father)
2) salvation (Son)
3) Godliness teaching (Holy Spirit)
and replaced them with the teachings of MAN (the 6th day creation)...3 sixes.
"God is ONE" (Galatians 3:20) and Jesus is the WHOLE fullness of God (Colossians 2:9).
We are to live under the PERFECT law (James 1:25 and 2:12). The sin laws were abolished (Ephesians 2:15) and we have already been justified in Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:11, Galatians 2:16).
We are to know God as "Abba Father" (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6), not master/taskmaster, and we are to be a "FRIEND of God" (James 2:23), not slave/servant.

As children of God, in and of ourselves, we are given only one task, and this is it "Labour-make a sincere effort- to enter into His rest". Lest at any time we fall through unbelief. "For he that is entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his 'own' work, as God [did] from His. Ref. Heb.4:1-16

The new Christian should develop a great prayer life first. Without that little else will change for the better.

1. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul and mind.
2. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two hang all the law and the prophets.

Leon_There are no truer words than the ones you've given, Praise God!

To each a noble call is given.
The thing to remember is what he did in you, this will help you know what he wants for you...he not only forgave you of all your sin, but gave you the desire to reject it.
It's an empowerment he wants you to use on YOU so that people will know him. I stress 'You' because everyone else's sin is easier to see and more apt to grab the attention of our flesh's impulse to be right and holy.
That's pride and it's the devil's greatest mousetrap, so good he caught himself in it.
You should be most careful that you don't earn my name, don't compare flesh to flesh unless it's yours to Jesus.
In an age of Grace a Christian's call is to be gracious.

1. As a babe in Christ, you are to drink & be nurtured by the milk of the Gospel.
2. As you grow & eventually start walking by faith, God will begin giving you Gospel meat for you to chew, mediatate on & digest.
3. While you're growing up, you'll learn to walk & pray in accordance (agreement) with the word of God as "contained in the Bible". Pay attention, listen to, always follow God's lead. Trust Him to tell you when & what you need to do.

God has called each born again Christian to do some type of work for him. Whether it be Preacher/Pastor, singer, Evangelists, etc. We're all called by God to do something. I am called to sing, and I do just that. I spread the gospel through song and what God has helped me overcome. I pray for everything. I don't only pray for myself, but for my family, church family, men and women overseas, my finances. I would tell this new Christian that if he/she believes it is important to pray for something, than God will believe it is important as well. God is our friend, he wants us to talk to him on a daily basis. Just like the song says, "Just a Little Talk With Jesus".

God definitely knows your heart, and He also knows His children. In light of these facts>>>WAIT. You do nothing.

He should pray for a job. Jerry Savelle said one time, "My bible says Faith worketh."
Six days God worked and on the seventh day He rested. Paul the Apostle said, "If a man does not work, he should not eat."
Once he gets a job, he can incorporate prayer time with God along with Bible Study and also include fellowshipping with others.

"Also wants to know what he should pray for" Answer - God's guidance to get the answer to this question. Ours will vary too much, God knows what he wants the person to do.
