Forgiveness For An Abortion

I am having a terrible time forgiving myself for an abortion. I look at the only child that I have wondering if my unborn would look like him. Each month I think about how old my unborn child would be. I often wonder when I die, will there be a baby waiting there to ask me why?

Yes. It seems you are easily fooled. You liberal ideology is a telltale sign of that.

---Jed on 8/21/14

Jed, you could have fooled me. But I'll just let it go now. Blessings to you too.

Jed and Jerry, I know you are obeying Jesus for he commanded, "Love your friends and hate your enemies." Keep up the good work.

---love.jesus on 8/20/14

Thanks. I will keep up the good work. But you're wrong about what Jesus said. He didn't say to hate your enemies. He said to love them, which is what I am doing for you (not that I consider you an enemy). I am loving you by urging you to repent so you can be saved. Do you think it is more loving to tell the lost that they are fine, and let them die in sin? I have said nothing derogatory toward you. I have only preached the gospel to you (which includes repentance) so that you may be saved, and I will continue to do so, out of love.

love: OK, I'll speak for myself. I think it ironic that you pro-infanticide types don't think that your mothers should have aborted you. B.O. voted for post delivery abortion, so why don't you guys just finish the job now? Better late than never, eh.

---jerry6593 on 8/20/14

A baby does not even know what saved is. When a child is old enough to understand salvation, then he is at the age of accountability. A child must also know he (they) are sinners. That's why it's so important to raise our children in church. We must expose them to the bible and what it teaches. We must pray for our children. They face things that we have no idea about.
---shira4368 on 8/19/14

Jed, I never said that. ---love.jesus on 8/18/14

Oh really? You haven't been supporting abortion on these blogs?

Do you wish me dead? What kind of Christian are you then?

No, I don't, and I never suggested that. Stop putting words in my mouth. That's the same as lying. I said you would have been better off to be dead than be an abortion supporter and be held responsible for all those abortions if you don't repent. My wish for you is to repent.

Anyway, I wasn't talking to you. Jerry can speak for himself. Thank you.

I wasn't speaking for Jerry. I have as much right to speak on the blogs as anyone else. You don't tell me what I can say and not say to you.
---Jed on 8/19/14

Adetunji, thank you for your response. Since aborted babies all go to heaven, it may have been better if I had been aborted. One loses his salvation and when he reaches the age of accountability and has to be saved again somehow

---love.jesus on 7/26/14

Saved again SOMEHOW??? what does somehow mean. and where is scripture that says one looses their salvation at a certain age?

Why would it be better for you to have been aborted? Are you saying you lost your salvation and not sure how to get saved SOMEHOW?

Abortion is murder, plain and simple. It is no different than putting a gun up to an innocent person's head and pulling the trigger.

With that being said, God would have forgiven Adolph Hitler if he had truly repented before his death. The thought of that makes a lot of people angry, but it makes me happy because if God could forgive Hitler then He will forgive my sins, or anyone's sins who truly, heartbrokenly repent, confess, and ask forgiveness.
---Jed on 8/17/14

murder is the same as any other sin it can be forgiven the only sin that can never be forgiven is Blaspheming against the holy spirit.

No your unborn will not be there to greet you if you believe that you will believe anything.

Ask Christ to forgive you, study the bible and get saved and clear yourself of any sin in your life and take heed not to do it again. If you are truly sorry seek god and the gospel of Jesus Christ, your slate is them wiped clean...

and you can live with Christ and be forgiven of the sin you committed. it is that easy yes, can you do it ? , that's up to you !
---Carla on 8/17/14

Jerry, is that Holy Spirit talking to me through you, or are those just simply your own words?

---love.jesus on 8/16/14

Regardless, it is the truth. As someone who stands for abortion, the blood of all those murdered babies is on YOUR hands. You are a willing participant and will be held responsible. The Bible says in short that you would be better off to kill yourself than to harm a little child. Don't assume you will escape God's wrath in your current state as a non-Christian. You still have time to repent while you are still alive.
---Jed on 8/17/14

"God's punishment for giving us a shortcut to paradise..."

That is an amazing piece of theology.
---love.jesus on 7/31/14 Thank God we were not aborted. If we were (1) we cannot enjoy conversing on earth as we are doing now (2) some souls would have suffered God's punishment for giving us shortcut to paradise.
May God help us to use the good opportunity we have to live in/for Jesus and make paradise at last.

You have already been forgiven (or are you second-guessing The Lord?).

Your unborn baby has forgiven you also (he has been well trained by The Lord).

There will not be a baby waiting to ask you why. This baby is in the arms of God and thus all is revealed to him. To have thoughts of earth and its worries wouldn't be heaven.

Healing from an abortion is not an easy thing. The hardest part of it is forgiving yourself. God has already forgiven you.

While we are forgiven if asked, we sometimes lose sight that our actions have consequences, like the distress you now feel.

God is faithful and able. Someone here mentioned getting professional help and that is a sound suggestion. Let God work in your life, even if it is through the gift of a caring therapist.

You need to get christian counseling and let God heal your heart. I went through 4 abortions and I went to church and God gave me all the names of my children and told me that there was an angel called Johnathan watching over them. Most importantly, you have to forgive yourself, there is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus and if you have asked God to forgive you, then your sin is washed away in the sea of forgetfulness.

Kelly, As long as you follow the Lord God YAHUVEH and His Son YAHUSHUA (JESUS), you will one day be happily reunited with your aborted baby in Heaven. For the LORD is taking care of your child now. And, GOD forgives you as you ask Him to, as you understand that it was a sin, and you repent of it. Stand up against Abortion when you have a chance. Perhaps support an anti-Abortion Ministry (like Care-Net, etc.), through prayer, offerings, one-on-one support, however GOD leads you. Personally, I think it's GOOD that you feel regret and sadness, for that shows you do have a heart for what is right. GOD also grieves, cries and is angered over the millions of babies that are aborted on this Earth. But, He is VERY MERCIFUL to those who repent!
---Gordon on 12/16/08

Hi, wivv is right on, also to just say again, when you are so focused on your unborn baby, you're not focusing on the dear child that you do have. He or she is there, enjoy him/her. Otherwise the child you do have will grow up with a lot of scars from always being compared to the one you didn't have. And honey, forgive yourself--Christ forgave us. When we forgive ourselves, we are honoring Christ, truly.
---Mary on 12/15/08

Thinking too much of the past will keep you from dealing effectivly with the present and the future. There is no point in "ifing" this matter. It will do you know good to wonder what your aborted baby might look like if you hadn't aborted since there is nothing you can do about it. Evaluating the past has it's benefits, but just to torture youself about situations you can't control is a waste of time and a distraction caused by Satan. (The Lord convicts but the devil makes you feel guilty.)
---wivv on 12/15/08

I thought this was a blog about abortion and forgiveness, but your subject has took another route. I do have the Holy spirit, speak in tounges, and prophesy. I didnt get the Spirit from someone laying on hands, after years of terrying(waiting), on the day it happened i had chills all day, i actually thought i was sick, later that day, while praying i spoke in toungues. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, you have to be submitted and ready to recieve. After i recieved it the word came to life, it opened so many doors to me. It is truly a comforter, teacher, it even warns you about trouble.Seek the Lord, all who dont have it, it is vital for your walk with God!

Donna!......Several things here!

1st of all God(the Holy Spirit) Gives tongues to whomever he pleases.

(2nd) Jesse and anyone else that says they have been to heaven are being deceived. The two examples we have of Glimpses of heaven are from Stephen, who only mentions seeing Christ, standing to greet him when he dies.
And Paul, Who wasn't sure what physical or spiritual state he was in after the stoning. But said, That there were no words to describe what heaven was like. Another words: It would be a crime, or a dis-service to God to describe His glory.

---Mike356 on 11/19/08

Actually Mike356, I do agree with you that not all will speak in tongues. I believe God gives the Gift of Tongues to intercessors and prophets.

RebeccaD, In 1983 I got saved and one week later, I asked to be Baptized. My Pastor Baptized me in the Holy Spirit and that night I got a prayer language. I actually pray in tongues. I am an intercessor so maybe that's why I have tongues. But RebeccaD, understand my heart, I want you to have it so you can have that power to pray for hours upon hours upon hours and see the hand of God move mightily. I love you dearly. Wish we could be friends.
---donna8365 on 11/17/08

The best gifts are the ones God has for you to accomplish His will, right where your at!

You don't need to ask for a specific gift (unless you feel the Holy Spirits urging), But just ask God to fill you with the gifts He wants you to have. Then you'll have the best gifts for you.

How will you know when you have them?
You will just find yourself doing/using them somtime to your suprise.

By the way. Billy Graham does't speak in tongues.

Do'es he not have the Holy Ghost????
---Mike356 on 11/15/08

Rebecca D, Donna8365, etc.........

1 Corinthians 12:29-31, Paul asks rhetoricaly, Are all Apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? (30) Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? (31) But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

I know some of you touched on this before, but confirm what you say with Gods word. As you know, tho some "charismatics" would differ. Not all people will recieve the gift of tongues from the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Paul just confirmed that here in 1corinthians. "But earnestly desire the best gifts".

Kelly, there are many groups who are suffering just like you.
One I know called Racheal's vineyard.

They have retreats throughout the year for those who want more than speaking on phone or on the internet.

Call their toll-free national hotline: 877 HOPE 4 ME (877-467-3463)

Now, I think they are Catholic run.
But, I am sure Protestants have simiar help centers.

If no one knows of any Protestants ones, you can still call them and ask them.
They won't be offended.
Their goal is to help you heal and know God's Mercy.

God Bless,
Your baby isn't going to be asking you any questions. God has explained everything to him.
He just might want to show you around in Heaven, since he got there first.
---Nicole on 11/14/08

Donna: I understand the baptism of the Holy Ghost. But you fail to understand that my time isn't God's time. When he thinks I am ready. There is a difference in between being filled with the Holy Ghost and being baptized by the Holy Ghost. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am filled with the Holy Ghost. I know that I have not been baptized by the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. By the way, I thought you said in a post some time back that you don't have the evidence of speaking in tongues? Have you received this gift by the Baptism of the Holy Ghost since then? I know you're filled with the Holy Ghost, but have you been baptized by the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues?
---Rebecca_D on 11/12/08

Your post breaks my heart. Just know the Lord forgives. The scriptures say he is just to forgive us when we ask - 1st John 1:9.

Your child will be waiting for you in heaven, but not to ask you why. In heaven we won't worry about the sins we committed here. We will rejoice in the love of our God, and love of our friends and loved ones.

Lord bless you,

Now, I have seen your post, and I believe you are Holy Spirit filled. So, may God's blessing be on you. Not much longer sister. Not much longer.
same for you too, donna.
Ask God what the Fruits of the Holy Spirit are.
From what I have seen, you both have them.
Just because you don't speak in tongues and such does not mean you don't have it.
And if you still feel like you don't, ask God to reveal why. Is there something you need to get rid of that is blocking it?
i know with me, it was. Once I put God first in all things, it happened

RebeccaD, I do have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you want it, I'd be happy to lay hands on you and pray so that you will receive it.

If you really want it, find someone who has the Book of Acts, it says you get it by the laying on of hands. But the Holy Spirit can also just fall upon you Himself if he so chooses.

I do have it - that's why I want you to have it. Here's another way to get the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Write down all of the scriptures in Acts that tell you how you get it, who got it and how, why you need it, Jesus said, You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, etc., and that word will become living word to you as you sow it into your spirit man. Love you!
---donna8365 on 11/11/08

Donna: There is a time for everything. I don't know why I don't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The bible says you have not because you ask not. but that is not the case with me, cause I have been asking and believing in him for me to receive this baptism. But if I am never baptised by the Holy Ghost, that doesn't mean I won't go to heaven. This just means that I will have a much closer walk with the Lord. Why don't you have it? I think this is a question that one should be asking God and not others. Cause we don't have the answers.
---Rebecca_D on 11/10/08

Rebecca D, it's not about what WE believe, it's about what is the TRUTH.

Let Him who has ears, HEAR what the Spirit is saying.

I bear witness to the truth of what Jesse saw in heaven. Why? Because I had the privilege of sitting under 2 other men who were taken to heaven so the Lord could anoint their hands for healing. BOTH of them say the same things about Heaven as Jesse. "Let a thing be confirmed in the presence of two or three witnesses."

RebeccaD, I've read alot of your responses on this board, and most are your opinions. I love you dearly, but can't trust what you think God is telling you. Why haven't you followed ALL of Acts 2:38? Why don't you have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
---donna8365 on 11/10/08

Donna: I honestly don't believe that Jesse went to heaven and came back. Maybe he died and thought he went. I don't know this Jesse fellow, but he doesn't sound any different than the other Evangelists on TV. Okay you tell him that I said that, and my resources is God. What is his resource's? His mind, his thoughts? Yes I believe Jesus is coming back soon. I don't know when though. Maybe you can ask Jesse, since he went to heaven and all, maybe he had a chance to ask Jesus in person.

The ethnic jokes are not something that I have "heard about". It was something I saw first hand. I wouldn't walk across the street to hear Jesse or any of the other word of faith false preachers. Jesus is coming soon. It's time people who say they are Christians started looking for HIS return and stopped looking for a "special word" for themselves.
---SusieB on 11/5/08

SusieB, I do agree with you about the silly-ness of Jesse. I didn't hear about the ethnic stuff, but that's totally wrong. So we do agree there. Sin didn't originate with Adam and Eve. Lucifer committed the first sin of Pride. Then the earth became void and formless, then God spoke and put the Garden of Eden on earth. And you are correct, Thy word is truth.
The widow tithed One Hundred percent.

SusieB, please don't take offense, we're just iron sharpening iron. I knew you know the word. I respect you alot. I just get my feathers ruffled when someone says where is it in scripture that all babies go to heaven. So I ask the question, do you think they go to hell? Please forgive me SusieB. I love you dearly in the Lord Jesus.
---donna8365 on 11/4/08

Donna...All babies who die before or after their birth go to Heaven. Sin originated in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. That's why they were kicked out. The first sin committed was disobeying God by eating of the forbidden fruit. Truth is what is taught in the Bible. God is The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Born again Christians can and do celebrate Passover. The widow gave all she had. By the way, these answers are from the Bible, not Jesse Duplantis. I heard him speak in person a few years ago and found him to be totally silly. He spent an hour making ethnic jokes about women of all races. I found him to be more a comedian than a preacher and he wasn't a very good one.
---SusieB on 11/4/08

Sorry for your loss, Kelly. How it happened is irrelevant to me. You have allowed your conscience to judge you, which is a marvellous thing. When you go to Jesus your conscience will be on the side of right, on the side of good, and you will be forgiven. Do stop it from wrecking your life. Dorothy Day had two abortions and through those experiences became a great Christian. Abortion is a terrible evil and like a cancer it has grown on society so that we have come to consider it part of normality. But you reject it and that is a great thing. Your child was unfortunate to have been conceived at a time when abortion was considered okay.

Who is Jesse Duplantis? I have never heard of him!

As for him being taken up to heaven and then sent back ... this I find quite surprising. I don't recall any Bible scripture prophesying that a man would be taken up & returned here, and it did not happen to anyone in the Bible
---alan_of_UK on 11/3/08

Rebecca D, I respect your opinion, however, you weren't taken to heaven like Jesse was, so I tend to believe Jesse over your opinion. I will let Jesse know what he saw in heaven wasn't real, that it was a figment of his imagination. I'll also let Jesus know I no longer believe babies grow up in heaven because Rebecca D said so.

Moderator- please let this post as we should be allowed to respond to such ridiculous accusations.

I sincerely apologize to you but I believe an anointed man of God over your opinion. I guess you also believe Jesus isn't coming back soon. That was the message Jesus gave to Jesse when He took him up to heaven. I guess you'll see once you get there.
---donna8365 on 11/3/08

SusieB, I took your advice and started "checking out" the word of I know a false prophet when I hear him and Jesse isn't one of them. Granted, I understand most think he teaches on money, but we prosper in many areas of our lives, not just money.
Anyhoot, here are some things you can check out in the word. I'd be interested to hear your responses. Where do you think aborted babies go? Second, where did sin originate? What was the first sin committed? What is truth? Who is God? Should born again folks celebrate Passover? How much did the poor widow woman tithe? These are not trick questions, but admit you have to know the Word to know these answers. See how you do. God Bless you, love you SusieB. Iron sharpens Iron, amen?

Stop beating yourself up, worrying about the what if's won't change anything, but make you go into a deep dark depression.

Donna: God doesn't assign anyone to take care of the babies in heaven. The babies don't grow up in heaven, they stay the same. Have you been listening to Sylvia Brown the physic? She says when a person dies they automatically go to 30 years old. God does take the babies. I'm sorry but what this Jessie person saw, wasn't heaven. I'm sure he didn't see what John saw.

If you're calling Jesse Duplantis a false prophet or a prosperity teacher, then you aren't listening to what he's saying with your Spiritual ears. Let Him who has ears, hear what the Spirit is saying.

I too had to listen to alot of his teachings to finally see with my spiritual eyes and ears that prosperity has NOTHING to do with money. His messages talk about prospering in health, faith, joy, peace, love of God, and getting to know God on such an intimate level. I know he sounds like a bubble gum preacher, but listen with your Spiritual ears and eyes and God will reveal to you that Jesse is one of God's prophets. Those thoughts of not forgiving yourself, and beating yourself up over your abortion are from Satan. He does not want you to experience the joy of God's grace and forgiveness. God has forgiven you, and says that what you did He does not remember. It is as far as the East is from the West.

I am going to recommend that you make a gratitude list each day, and thank God for all He has given you, especially for the child you now have. As you develop this habit, you will start to experience God's peace. Philippians 4 says we are to think of good things, so giving thanks helps us do that.
---Trish9863 on 10/29/08

God forgives those that ask for it but now its time you forgive yourself. We have all sinned and he doesn't see one sin greater than another (except blasphemy against the holy spirit). The devil is the accuser and keeps bringing our past up to torment us. But I do thank you for bringing up an important subject and telling people how you feel. If more women would talk about their experiences than maybe there would be less abortions. If people could hear their pain it might make them think twice. Thank you again for speaking out and may God be with you and help you and give you strength. God Bless.
---colupy on 10/29/08

Even though we are forgiven there are consequences for our actions. It will take time for you to get a hold of the forgiveness. It is one of several common feelings that accompany abortions. Keep your walk with God and he will walk you through the entire process. I see no Scripture to support that your baby will have a problem with you if and when you meet in heaven. In Isaiah 65:17 it says that he will create a new heaven and a new earth and the former things will not be remembered.

Your baby loves you, too, and will not ask why, because he/she is with Jesus. God would not want us to do what we did, but He was not surprised by it. He knew the choice that we would make and His arms were open to welcome our babies home. God forgives you and you have to forgive yourself, too. Live your life for Jesus and, though you may not have that child now, you will spend eternity with him/her.

Dear Kelly,
I forgive you,and if I forgive YOU Jesus Christ

Honey in the name of Jesus please stop doing this to yourself. Forgive yourself first.Knowing you did,I am sure, the best you could at that time. You will need to ask God's forgiveness next. He will forgive us if we ask. We were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Please read Psalms 51.It speaks to us about ourselves and our wickedness.Surely we can relate this to our own situations, in life. Read and believe this Psalm, with all of your being. You also would do well to look through your concordance for every scripture that has forgivenss in it. As you read these scriptures, let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you to understanding.Let God's words speak to your heart and mind and know you are forgiven.
My prayers are with you beloved.

Sister, you have to forgive yourself just as God has.
He says when we repent, He no longer remembers the sin. God has forgiven you and forgotten the sin, You must do the same for yourself.

There won't be a baby there waiting to ask you why. There will be a loving Spirit waiting to welcome you.

God says when we are transformed we won't remember those we know in the same way. There won't be mom and dad, or husband and wife. We will all be brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sorrow is the most sincere form of Godliness (don't ever shed that ability, but do not live your past).

Jesus gave humanity the HOPE of eternal life, so base your devotion/relationship on "the GREATEST of these" (1 Corin. 13:13) and have a "faith for faith" (Romans 1:17, Hebrews 11:6).

You will always know what you've done, but a TWO WAY "PERSONAL" relationship ("walk by the spirit", Galatians 5:16, 25) with Jesus will teach you to forgive yourself. Let God be your ONLY spiritual teacher

1 John 2:27
"you have no need that any one should teach you...and is TRUE"

Worship in your own temple...
1 Corin. 6:19
"a temple of the Holy Spirit within".

Psychologically, recovering from an abortion is a very serious matter ("draw close" to The Lord for permanent healing).

You've already learned from the introductory doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1 "word of truth" 2 Tim. 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6), but for the rest of your life, if you learn the real word (Ephesians 6:17), Jesus will teach you to forgive yourself also.

He is the WHOLE fullness of God (no trinity, Colossians 2:9, Galatians 3:20). The bible is not an authority, Jesus has been given ALL authority in heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18).

You have a NEED/ability to understand this closer relationship with the "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God" (Isaiah 9:6).

You can't FORGIVE yourself???? God wants us to be forgiving people.

You regret what you did and do not want to REPEat your deed (that's because you have REPEnted of your deed). If you continue to "not REPEat" that deed, then you have FULLY repented,...keep up the good work.

You cannot turn back the hands of time so that your mistake will never have happened. Since you have already learned the error of your way, rehabilitative punishment would make absolutely no sense.

If you wish to torment yourself for the rest of your life for what you have done (it won't reverse anything),...WHY????...what GOOD could you possibly accomplish???

Jesus came into the world with purpose, and that to be the final witness of God, and the redemption of all the world. This is a free gift if you give the allegiance of your soul to his will and good purpose. You receive his forgiveness in prayer should you seek it with all of your heart.

To repent is to turn from your sin, obviously this was a one time deal, so all that remains is to confess it for what it was, a bloody murder, and seek the divine forgiveness of the Lord of all.

Jesus said that we would in no way see the kingdom of God unless were born again from above (John 3:3) seek him out, plead for forgiveness and to be sealed with the Holy Spirit, ask Jesus to forgive all your sin, he is mighty to save that which was lost.

John 8:11
"Neither do I condemn you, go, and do not sin again." other words, GET ON WITH LIFE and do not condemn yourself.

In scripture, women showed GREAT love (being nore familiar with genuine humility and deep love). The person at the well desired more than what the text of scriptures had to offer, and so readily recognized "Messiah" while the disciples still called Him "Rabbi" (water also flowed from Christ's side at the cross, John 19:34, 18:38, Acts 1:5, Rev. 7:16). Maybe "living water" baptism of God's spirit will help you forgive yourself and develop eyes to see and ears to hear so you can have a "more excellent" devotion (1 Corin. 12:31).

Oh dear, enjoy the child you have, honey. God loves you and if you have asked Him, He's forgiven you for the abortion, He and you know why you did it and it's strictly between you and Him. But you might inadvertantly be making your other child feel kind of unwanted by obsessing over the aborted child--who will, by the way, NOT be asking you "why?"! He/she will just be happy with God and you will meet the child someday and resolve it all. In the meantime, I'd seriously advise counseling and more attention to the child you have. Does this make sense hon? Just trying to help, God bless.
