Please discuss your concerns with your Pastor. You are supposed to grow and participate in church activities being a chuch member. Let him know how you feel, if things do not change, pray about it and God will direct you, and if need be to another church.
Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Phl 4:12
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Phl 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Phl 4:2I
beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

And may Peace love and Joy be unto you too Bro you have increased my respect for you and I hope that you will also highlight my weaknesses it takes a lot out of someone who always has to correct but others fail to correct me so we pray one for another and keep each other in mind always we need to say the same things live the same life while serving the same God. lets just all say what is written we can never go wrong.

Bless You

Sorry I offended you Carla, and for the record I was wrong. May God Bless You AND Steven G Entirely!

As a man of God I expect nothing less than seeing or that you show Love that we may all learn to remember to follow our answers in a Christlike fashion Paul said follow me as I follow Christ.

Others have a attitude to say don't follow me cause I will fail, I am only mere man on the contrary Paul said to Follow him because he mirrored the examples Christ taught him.

1Cr 6:17

Eze 36:27
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].

"...Paul didn't have any time for women in the church." Jack, 11/17/08.

Hmmm, not true! First, Paul was an apostle who was personally called (annointed & appointed) to service by the Lord Jesus Christ. If Paul had done anything in his ministry contrary to the teachings of Jesus, he certainly would've been rebuked by God & we'd have a Scriptural record of the correction. Paul wasn't reproved regarding his stand on women serving in the church. Instead, he was led by the Holy Spirit. To say otherwise is error.

Christ-like Paul "also" recognized & had women helpers in the church in accordance with the balanced teaching of Scripture. To say otherwise is error.

Talent and dependability are not the same thing. Many talented people can fail to come through. I would say a pastor approved by Jesus will personally know whoever he delegates a task. If this pastor does not know those talented people well enough so he trusts them . . . we are to test before we trust. But, of course, this may not apply to your situation. If he is not an exemplary pastor (1 Peter 5:3), and you have known this for some time, why are you there? I know in certain churches people stay there because they are hung up on certain beliefs and sacraments found only in their groups. Obey God and discover how He connects you with others who obey Him (o:

Pharisee...Thanks! Another thought is that a pastor tends to use people in leadership positions on whom he can rely and trust. I've seen a lot of really talented people who want the attention centered on their talent rather than on Jesus. Another unique idea for today's times is that the pastor might just be following the leading of the Holy Spirit in his choices.

"My church..."

Christians bicker among each other about whose church is better. They even bicker among members of the same denomination. It sounds like you are saying that the church is a building, a non-profit organization, a denomination. It's neither. The church is people, christians. Jesus is returning to join with (marry) with people, not a building, a non-profit organization, a denomination.

This whole denomination/church thing has christians fighting among each other. You won't find a Lutheran presiding over a Baptist congregation. Satan is the creator of denominaional churches to divide christians. The great delusion of the end times.

"especially as Steveng said nothing wrong!"

And neither did I that he should address me to be above me and not answer the question as it were.

He could have just as easily taken up the slack he perceived that I left behind (bearing one another's burdens, that's in the Bible too) instead of inferring that I was wrong when I was not, it really is none of my business, and foolish on his part to try and correct someone who is correct already.

A swirley is good self discipline, maybe you should try it before you knock it.

Rom 12:10

Okay....... I get my feathers ruffled all the time and I know I can be straight to the point but your comment is less than desirable especially as Steveng said nothing wrong!

I wouldn't even expect an answer like that even if he was an enemy................. he's a brother in Christ!

I attend a few Pastoral conferences each year and one of the biggest issues that I regularly hear from the clergy is the inability to get men involved within the congregation. The annual golf tournaments usually fill up however not much else for the men. It is my guess that this Pastor is trying to get more men involved within the church however alienating the female volunteer force is not a wise way to accomplish his goal.
---TIMOTHY on 11/18/08

God used people of both genders equally in accomplishing his goals for mankind. Why should some pastors be prejudice against women when God isn't.

I have worked with many fine women pastor over the years. Who are we to criticize those that God as called and equipped to represent Him irrespective of gender.
---Phil_the_Elder on 11/18/08

It's usually thought that all events in scripture are happenstance/random, but the creator was in full control of what went into scripture.

In the new testament, the person who desired more than just a simple 'intellectual' understanding of God (John chapter 4) recognized Jesus as "Messiah" while Jesus's disciples still called Him "Rabbi". Genuine humility to God along with a loving/peaceful spirit is required to discover the "living water" and will "neither thirst" (John 7:38, Rev. 7:16, Acts 1:5, Ephes. 4:5). Others will discriminate against women and rationalize many reasons to do so because they consider the bible to be a spiritual authority.

Mattew 28:18
"All authority".

What do you actually mean by he does not let the women do much in the church. What is it they are allowed to do and what are they not allowed to do?

There are churches that very graciously 'allow' women to do the things that the men would not wish to do anyway e.g serve food and wash the dishes or run the creche but there are churches that allow women to teach Sunday school but maybe not teach boys once they reach a certain age etc.

What are the differences between the man's role and the woman's in your particular church.

If the difference is offensive to women I wouldn't stay but give the pastor chance to let you know why he has made the decisions that he has made and take it from there.

I'd find a different church, myself. I've been in that shoe and it sure don't fit nice! :(

Steveng: I hope that you are of the opinion that women can do more than just teach younger women and children. In my church, we have women who serve on the Worship Team, as Greeters, as Hostesses, cooking meals for the sick and shut-ins, cleaning homes of the sick, running a food pantry, as missionaries, administering the daycare center, counting the offering to name a few things. On just this past Friday night, our church, which is in the process of remodeling, had a Work Night, and we had just as many women as men painting the interior of the church.
---Trish9863 on 11/17/08

Thanks for the correction Steven G, but I think this is firstly applied to the person asking the question.

Further more this is what happens when one man is responsible for all ministry decisions, but that's the system of the modern church. It really is none of my business what the pastor in question does with the authority given him by a governing body of Elders, it's their business to correct the problem if they feel there is one, and that's where this woman's gripe should be directed.

Place head in toilet, pull lever and enjoy the whooshing sensation of the swirly my friend, correct yourself, it's a better use of your time.

Great Reply Susie, I'm tired of folks roasting their pastor behind their back when they cannot defend their own position and give an answer to the charge given against them.

1 Timothy 5:17 Double honor for the pastors and teachers of the word is prescribed.

Yes! Ask the pastor! That's probably a unique thought, but he is the leader of the church. The women are not!

Pharisee: "My thoughts: It's none of my business."

It's everyone's business to promote the Kingdom of God. Do an online bible search for "one another" and "each other."

Women are great helpers for the church. They are able to teach the younger women and the children.
---Steveng on 11/17/08

Jesus had women helpers, but Paul didnt have any time for women in the church. Id follow Jesus over Paul. And, when you get to heaven, there are no males or females according to Jesus, that will take some getting use to.
---Jack on 11/17/08

I attend a church where everyone is encouraged to use their gifts and talents throughout the ministry. I suggest you find a similar body of worship and use your gifts there.
