Demon Spirit Took Me

I had a dream that I was sleeping and a demonic spirit took over my body. My room was exactly how it is, with my bible next to my bed, but I couldnt reach for it. My face felt like it was melting without any pain but transforming and my voice was changing but I couldn't shout. What does this mean?

Satan was messing with you. Pray for help. Count your many blessings. God is with you always. Never fear Satan. His weapon is intimidation. If you refuse to be frightened, his tool is disarmed!

God could be giving you a warning. I do not believe that drean was demonic. Perhaps a warning of your own spiritual condition. Pay attention.

I am a spiritual counsellor at a restoration ministry where we try and help drug addicts and gangsters to overcome their past lives, and I have witnissed this as young men in their sleep are attacked in a way that they are held down by this force and they are only set free once the demon is cast out. Now demons cnnot attack those Christians who are doing the will of their Father. Now you might be born again but your walk could be very carnal, if not sinful, and therefore you would be open to attack from demons. For example if you smoke you still open yourselves to demons. So it is imperative that you look at your spiritual life, again I say spiritual life. Do you have a relationship with Jesus?

Dreams have meaning and are from God or the devil (Acts 2:17). Dreams also tell of your God-given purpose and destiny. Don't cheat yourself from not believing what is Biblical.

When I awake from a dream I always know whether it is of God or not and I know the meaning when it is from God. He blesses me greatly with these dreams.

You encountered a Demon sometimes you can encounter many at the same times and other times you can encounter different strengths of Demons.

2 Ti 3:1:17
We are in perilous times where you will come across people who profess to be of God having the form of Godliness but deny the power thereof from such depart.

the next time this happens call on the name of Jesus and it will flee.
Pray/ Fast and read the scriptures on demons and you will be more equip to deal with them. If you can't speak repeat Jesus's name until you have over come it.

Have a blessed night in Jesus's name CarlaX

Rev 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Dreams are symbolic of something else, usually not literal. Your dream doesn't have to be about real demons in real life. Look at your heart. What is it that you have felt you should do,or wanted to do for God and for any reason haven't. Sleeping can be an indication of stillness a lack of moving toward the desired goal. The demon taking over your body can indicate a helpless feeling or that you just can't do something. The Bible next to the bed can show you know God is with you always. Your inability to reach the Bible could be you feeling unable or feeling not equiped to do what you want to for God. The melting face transforming, you will be a new person Spiritually. Test yourself to see if you are avoiding God's change in your life.

I want to make this clear, I thought this was the same guy having the demon dreams as the last post, that's why I thought he was under attack if this is not a recurring dream then I mostly agree with Bruce's post. Still a lil holy water never hurt anyone.

God Bless ya

On judgement day, you will not be able to hide your sin behind a mask and behind your words. The words of the Bible need to be in your heart and your life, not laying there on the table. The Word of God is not living unless you are living it.

What did you read before bed? What did you eat before bed? What movie did you watch before bed? Translation, science has concluded with great accuracy that dreams usually fall in line with the last stimulus of the day. At the moment this appears to be a one time event so I would not assign much meaning to it. If the pattern repeats often then you may want to seek spiritual counseling.

Everybody turns into one of Job's friends when a blog like this comes up. You've touched this, you've eaten that, what a waste of text.

Dear friend I believe the dream is simply telling you this what the Bible says:

Turn to the Lord with all your heart while you still can. Ask him to judge your ways (see psalm 54:1) because the folks on here can't give you what the Lord alone provides.

In many cases folks became the prized target of Satan because they were keeping spiritually clean, he doesn't need to fully possess those he easily influences, it's a waste of his ability. If there is sin in your life turn around now while you can. If not fast and pray, you're being attacked.
---Pharisee on 12/9/08

Fight back.

Look up on line "making holy water" and follow the directions in faith. Wait till no body is home (can't have doubters) and walk around the house room by room, and command any unlclean spirit to be bound and cast out by the blood of Jesus Christ and in his name. Command it to the pit of Hell by faith and it will have to go.

I suggest fasting through this process, and staying as close to God as you can read his word constantly, words of Christ, and even use it as a pillow when you nap.
Always pray before sleeping.

Alan has given you excellent advice.

A nightmare is just a bad dream.

Dreams are not spiritual!

Yes some dreams in scripture were interperted. God also spoke through a donkey! Just because it happened then does not mean it happens now or all the time.
---Bruce5656 on 12/9/08

I think the devil is trying to shut you up so you won't evangelize. Not all dreams have a significant meaning. Some are just connected with some things we were thinking the previous few days. But some are certainly powerful and have meanings that God wants us to learn from. some are attacks from the enemy. Ask God to help with interpretation. He will do it or send someone.

nathaniel, when you lay down to sleep, pray and ask the Lord to send legions of angels to minister to you while you sleep.

Lord, I ask in Jesus name, that you please send me legions of angels to minister to me as you see fit while I sleep, thank you Lord in Jesus name.

Take both hands, put them on top of your head and say, Lord I plead the Blood of Jesus over my mind, I pray the blood of Jesus protects my brain while I sleep and I thank you for that in Jesus name.

Turn over and go to sleep. The bible tells us He gives His beloved peace even in His sleep. Keep praying. Keep thanking God for his protection, and Jesus for shedding His Blood for you. God Bless you Mightily.

more excellent way, where do you get that Jesus "hung on the cross three days"? He was taken down the same day He was crucified, since the day of His crucifiction was the Preparation Day before the Sabbath (read John 19:31). Jesus was placed in a borrowed tomb and rose from there three days later.

Let GOD be your ONLY spiritual teacher, NOT MAN. The "6th day creation" (man) has always taught the 3 gifts of God to all humanity (creation, salvation, holiness/spirit) as being the works of man (3 sixes moneychangers). Let God be your only spiritual teacher (1 John 2:27) and learn the "depths of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10).

As you do unto others, so are you doing unto yourself (if you are unjust to other people, you cheat yourself out of God's spirit).

Unless you clearly divide between right and wrong (as a sword would), you will not have "the spirit" (Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 6:1) nor "enter by the door" (John 10:1).

Matthew 28:18

Probably something you had eaten.

Such dreams or nightmares are common.

Other versions of the dream are when you cannot find you Mum in crowd, or the start line in a race is constantly receding, or the food in the bowl dissappears as yuo reach out for it

You are doing something seriously wrong in how you CLAIM to be walking with The Lord. Whether you just started to read the bible or have been reading it for years, you are being very worldly. Fear rules your life because of your worldly habits. Only you can decide and determine what your worldly habits are AND change your ways.

True Christianity is about "loving" GOD (treating your fellow human being properly will come as a result AFTER you learn to LOVE GOD). Many people will tell you to simply "FAITH" God, but you are supposed to LOVE Him ("faith FOR faith", Romans 1:17, Hebrews 11:6) and have a "more excellent" devotion (1 Corinthians 12:31).

"WALK BY THE SPIRIT" Galatians 5:16.

ONLY JESUS hung on the cross (not the bible, not Paul or the Bereans, or the apostles/disciples, not pastors/scholars or churchgoers). Not only Jesus wants you to take special notice of His accomplishments and sufferings on the cross, but The Father will also take exception to you not respecting what His son accomplished on the cross.

Jesus built the outer temple on the cross in the three days that He hung there...

John 2:19
"three days" (He spoke of the temple of His body).

1 Corinthians 3:16
"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?".

1 John 5:6 "He came by WATER and blood" John 19:34.
John 7:38, Acts 1:5.
James 1:25, Ephesians 2:15.
