January 2009 What's Happening
Trish Praise the Lord when I got to the hospital yesterday Mom had been moved to a regular room. She still has a little fluid on her lungs but they are thinking of letting her go home today. I was also surprised they were watching her to see what she can do and if shes strong enough to stay by herself. I feel a bit uneasy about that but will go along with what she wants. Thanks for prayers. Hope you are getting better. God Bless

Trish thank you for the prayer. Yes it is very hard to see our Moms sick. I learned about the Lord and prayer at Mom's knee and I always feel if Mom prays everything will be all right. Thats only one reason I love Mom so much,I'm an only child and lost Dad about 15 years ago so she is the last except me in our family group. She has always been what everybody should have for a mother, wonderful,so much so my dearest childhood friend tried to be like Mom in raising her 7 children. Mom is still in intensive care but making progress, talking about moving her into regular room is she keep recovering like she is. God Bless

Darlene, I will pray for your Mom. It is so hard to watch our moms be sick, and in the hospital.
Everyone else, be safe in the winter storm that is crossing the U.S. We are just getting the snow, and I am hoping for a snow day from school.

Trish your prayers are needed again. Brought mom home from hospital about 6:30 PM yesterday and she had to go back in ambulance about 2:30 AM. The problem she went for the first time was corrected but this time she has had a massive heartattack and is in intensive care. The doctor ran an ultra sound and said the damage wasn't as bad as first thought. Still have something to praise God about. I will be praying for you and your family. Thanks for the prayers. Oh also I need prayer for pain and strength to be there for Mom. God Bless

Darlene: Praise the Lord for your mother's care. That is wonderful news.
My mother is coming to town tomorrow. She, her gentleman friend, and my sister are flying to Florida for a week. My sister's friend's father lives there, and they are going to visit him.
I get to stay in PA, dogsitting for Sis. Please pray for all of us. Sis's dog can be a handful.
I also need prayer, as I am still battling a sinus infection, and have been since October.

Saturday afternoon my 90 year old Mom called me scared because she had awakened disoriented, feeling strange. I hurried over as did her gentleman friend,I called 911. They checked her and said I could take her to the hospital it wasn't an urgent emergency. Doctor at emergency hooked her up to monitor and found her heart was irregular. Tests showed she had Atrial Flutter, they got another doctor to sedate her and shock the heart back to normal rythmn it worked and she was admited to hospital for observation and more tests to see if she needs a pacemaker. She's still in the hospital pending another test and results. Please pray for her,the shock is still working, thank God,but she hates to be away from home, especially at hospital. God Bless

Tom2 A big AMen! to that. Christians are a part of a big family and if we can't get along on earth and know how to love oneanother in spite of differances, then why would God want us in Heaven.
Trish I agree and feel so blessed also for all in my life in person and online.I truely believe God brings into our lives what we need or who we need for every purpose, whether to pray or have a word to lift our hearts,or just be our friend. God Bless to all.

personal communication and a true heartfelt joy is a definite product when believers uplift each other.God plan for salvation was and is a personal relationship based fact.it would be wonderful if we all practiced this more.

Good Morning Everyone,
What a brisk and cold weekend we have been having here in PA. Not as cold as other parts, but all things are relative.
I am grateful for the people the Lord has put in my life. That includes the people here at CN that have blessed me so much. Thank you for how you have blessed me in the past year. God bless.

Trish I undestand why you would be concerned about your Mom maybe you could just offer to pray with her, letting her repent in prayer, and ease both your minds. I'll be praying for her. Getting to the weather also, amen to keeping warm,I don't know how people can live in such harsh climates,I freeze to death when our weather dips to the 30s or 20s,right now thats just at night the days usually warm up between 40s and 60s. It was 62 yesterday. Our son got a job with a nearby city,it is the first time he has worked for anyone but his Dad in over 30 years and I sure miss him coming in the house and saying "Hi Mom" before they head out for work in the morning, our warehouse is next door, but I praise God he has a job now with retirement.

James 4:12_16: "There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil."
My assurance of salvation rests therein.

Time to get out the long johns, and hot chocolate. We are in for a cold spell.
I had a rather disturbing conversation with my Mom today. She does not have assurance of salvation, and it is really concerning me, as she is up there in years now. 82 years old, and she has already buried two of her four children. Both of my brothers' funerals were opportunities for her to hear the Gospel message in the past two years. She had heard it many times prior to that, as my brothers, my sis-in-law and I have shared our faith with her many times.
My heart aches right now.

I hope that the media will soon stop talking about some idiot jumping out of an airplane. God never gets glorified by the media. God's people never even gets noticed. Yet, the media is making a celebrity out of some nut who has leaped out of an airplane. You tell me, is this sanity or insanity? Our Creator, never glorified, some nut is.

God has allowed me to have a blessed weekend. I met a new friend who is a believer who used to attend a church I also attended, but we never crossed paths.
Then, Sunday, He allowed me to visit my son in New York City and watch a playoff game together. It was such fun, especially because our team won.
I hope everyone has a super week.

Trish, what a blessing, another little doll for the family to love. I agree I pray this year will be easier and better for you and all on here who suffer from constant pain will be relieved. I had to finally go to the doctor for the respiratory problems and he decided what is still bothering me after 12 days is allergies. Have a good year. God Bless

Well, now that we have a new year, I am praying that it is a less painful year than 2008 was.
In August, my family will celebrate the birth of a new child, Lord willing, as my daughter is expecting her second. Another blessing is that my sister-in-law will graduating from the Bible college in our town that same month. Both of these will, of course, be Lord willing.
So far, 2009 is starting out quietly, and I hope it stays that way.
---Trish9863 on 1/5/09|
well, what is up for me this year?
My daughter will be 15 in a month, and she has already discussed going into the Navy when she graduates. Lord, it just goes by too fast for me.
Hoping God blesses me with a Godly man to spend the rest of my life with and serve side by side in Christ. I don't want to be unevenly yoked.
My son, is as inquizitive as ever and he too is slowly slipping away from me.
But I know God is with both of my babies. They are truly God's blessing to me.
Anyway, I pray for everyone to have a blessed year with God as the captain of your ships!

Darlene, That Old Wives Tale is interesting. I cleaned, cooked and watched college football yesterday with family and friends. Too bad football season is not year round. That would be wonderful to me.
I am getting ready to take my cats to the SPCA and say good-bye to them. My allergies are just too bad, and one of them is not nice when I have company, especially my granddaughter. I am not thrilled with this plan, but it is the only solution I have.
Prayers would be appreciated.

An Old Wives Tale says "Whatever you do on New Years Day,you will do all year long". Sure glad thats not true,I am sick with a upper and lower respiratory infection. Still I can look on the good side of it,the doctors office is closed, but I had the antibiotics I am usually given onhand so I started those and hope to be on the mend soon. Just in case that Old WIves Tale has a wee bit of truth in it,while I am practicing being a"lie abed" to heal my body,I'd better be praying and praising God for all the past 59 years I have been saved and walking with Jesus, how He has kept me near, and heard my prayers.
