yes rob you are right, the rest of the paragraph dose say that. but you cant test god.. he know your heart and your motives.
do you have the holy ghost? speaking in tongues.. In accordance with act2:1-4?
---batieste on 3/16/09|
Certainly there is: Ask. If you know that you are about to pray or witness for the Lord Jesus Christ, ask Him for His power to come upon you....No matter where you are. Sometimes The Holy Ghost may just fall upon you. In othertimes, you may need to ask. "If you want me to do this Lord, or Jesus, or God, whatever comes to your mind, "please give me your power and your strength". It all depends.

I hope the dear soul that gave you the sandwich is not a reader of these blogs! :)

Batieste, what about treading on scorpions, picking up deadly snakes with your hands, and drinking poison, without any harm? These things are part of the same paragraph.

If you intend to force God to do something (the present kingdom of heaven will be "taken by force" and suffer "violence") so that you can boast (pride) of having fruits of the spirit (instead of the "fruit of light"), then your reward will not be in the afterlife.
Matthew 11:12 In the days of the Pharisees...
"the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force".
Only if you are peaceful and just ("good and right and true") can God's spirit indwell...
"(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true)".
"God is light" (1 John 1:5). "Let there be light".

god dwells in the mist of praise..
the bible says in my name you will drive out demons, in my name you will talk in tongues...in my name... in my name in jesus name..whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever dose not will be condemned. and these signs will accompany those who believe..
the spiritual gifts are the manifestation of the holy spirit once you have been baptised in the spirit.
once you get the spirit then you become a christian.. you belong to god.. you have been blood washed in jesus's spirit..
this is the proof that you really believe. people are confused, you dont make yourself a christian, jesus dose. he call you out then sends his spirit down the proof is speaking in tongues at first.

Unbeknownst to me a manifestation of the Holy Spirit was to take place in my life yesterday.**
Once more, mima answers his own question.
---katavasia on 3/2/09|
Mima- Were you kind to say that about your sandwich?
---Betty on 3/1/09|
Unbeknownst to me a manifestation of the Holy Spirit was to take place in my life yesterday. Attending a regular prayer meeting I found myself and one person at this meeting. The person was a elderly a White-haired lady. After praying she invited me to her home for a sandwich, as I begin to beg off she said to me, I am jeff's mother and I'm certain he would like to see you. Oh that's different I said, I'll go with you. At her home I saw Jeff her son, who informed me that he would like to be a soulwinner. Whereupon I knew immediately that the Holy Spirit was involved in this invitation. The sandwich by the way with absolutely terrible, dry, almost hard, out of too thick cut ham.

When speaking of the Holy Spirit manifesting himself to us here is an idea....**
mima, if you want to make a statement, why don't you just make one in the first place, instead of asking a question, then answering your own question?

This scripture first Timothy 1:6 would seem to indicate that we can stir up the gift of God that is within us.
Scripture,"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands."
---mima on 2/20/09|
"Is there anything we can do to cause the Holy Spirit to manifest himself in or through us?" Yes.
Trust the LORD with ones focus in life and rest. Be soft and pliable in HIs hands, recognize and acknowledge Him as the potter and oneself as His clay. Yield ones character, disposition and will to the empowerment of His Spirit. Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him, then, allow what one may perceive and believe, based on ones understanding of His word to be His manifest presence, to be 'made' clearly apparent in and through ones life. "Ask and it shall be given unto you."

The Holy Spirit comes to those whom He will. He is a gift from God, and He leads people in all truth. You who want the Holy Spirit should call for Him and keep asking God for Him until you get Him. Don't give up.
---Betty on 2/18/09|
Part two--- from these two scriptures we can see that our testimony about the blood of Jesus Christ will be witnessed to through a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. That the Holy Spirit will accompany you by witnessing to your testimony. You can do this by studying what the word of God says about the blood of Jesus Christ, the benefits of the blood of Jesus Christ, and the effect power brought about thereby.
But as we all know the proof is in the pudding.
Therefore I encourage you to talk about the blood, and tell what the blood has done for you and me, and be alert to the coming manifestation of the Holy Spirit that will take place in your life. Try it!!!!

When speaking of the Holy Spirit manifesting himself to us here is an idea.First we should recognize these Scriptures.1st John 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." Next let us look at revelation 12:11,"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. From these two versus we understand that the blood the spirit and the water witness to one another and are in agreement with one another. To be continued

The Holy Spirit is God and is therefore sovereign, and works as HE wills, not as we will.
The idea that mortals can do something to make a spirit manifest is sorcery and mediumship and demonic possession.
---katavasia on 2/18/09|
First you need to get the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and He will manifest when you put the word inside of you. Jesus said my words are Spirit and Life to those who find them.
Worship songs can ignite the power of the Holy Spirit in you.
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit can cause you to manifest healing, the gift of miracles, interpretation of tongues, whatever gift you have, it's HIM working through you, not you working with Him...amen?
Pray and ask Him to lead you and guide you into all truth. The bible tells us that "When the Comforter comes." "He will lead us into all truth" and "He will tell us of things to come." Study this in the Gospel of John. God Bless you all.

What > I < tend to do is not stay attentive to God, and then give in to sin. I do not control God. But He gets through to me and corrects me so I am in His Spirit, I would say of very beautiful and pleasant goodness of love. And I am with Him in "the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (in 1 Peter 3:4). It helps for me to be thinking and praying on how we are here first to be pleasing You, God, in this gentle and quiet spirit . . . not first to be just trying to get You to bless us and solve our problems and forgive us. love of God,faith in jesus, obidience too the word,a personal relationship, daily, this will manifest the spirit in your life.there is no character that you have on your own, none. thers nothing you can do ,on your own.
---tom2 on 2/17/09|
If you have a "good and right and true" character (noble character, NOT noble PERSONALITY-phony), then you are truly a decent person that is peaceful and just (a Godlike nature/character/spirit) and God's spirit can "indwell".
What is supposed to be "manifest IN" us is "the works of God" (John 6:28 and 9:3) meaning that we should TRUST that Jesus did all of the "works" necessary for our salvation, and we should literally REST in The Lord (and BE BORED).
If you rest/relax (be what is commonly thought of as "lazy") in The Lord, then He will see that you really do TRUST His "works" (His works will be made "manifest IN" you).

I perceive that you truly do LOVE God, Mima. Would you do the same as in Luke 7:38?
"she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet".
If so, what do you imagine God would refuse you?
The person at the well (oh yes, a woman,..more familiar with genine love, genuine humility, admire "good and right and true", etc.) was always looking for genuine love in all the wrong places and was waiting for the "Wonderful Counselor"/Messiah and wanted a deeper relationship than her scriptures taught. She recognized "Messiah" while the disciples still called Him "Rabbi" and was excited by Jesus's mention of "living water".
