Trish and NVBarbara thank you so much for your prayers. She came through the surgery just fine even though it took nearly four hours instead of the 1 1/2 hours as thought to take. They did find out her wrist wasn't fractured after all,so thats a big Praise the Lord too. She even called me last night and I was glad she was able to. They sent her home after she woke up,that somehow seems babaric to me when they send them home so quick after surgery. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 4/28/09

OUCH! Darlene we'll be praying for your daughter's full recovery.
That sounds like some delicate surgery, may God guide the doctor's hands.

Aw Trish injured again, bless your heart!
I'll add an extra prayer in my "Trish" column!
---NV_Barbara on 4/26/09

Darlene: I will definitely pray for your daughter. I can empathize, to a point. I injured my foot around Easter, and have been in a special boot, which is supposed to immobilize the foot, but I take it off to drive and change my clothes. I reinjured it today, and I am in horrific pain. I will be seeing a new orthopedist on Thursday.
---Trish9863 on 4/26/09

Please pray for my daughter. She tripped over a board on a dock at the lake. Her arm broke completely through in the two bones below the elbow on left arm and the ball joint of elbow is cracked,as is the wrist which also may have a torn ligament. Doctors sent her home from Emergency Room in a splint until Monday Morning when they will operate. They gave her no pain medication to last the weekend, she does have some, but so far the first ones she tried have been too weak to relieve all the pain. She found a bottle of stronger ones she was given after surgery, please pray they work and for her surgery and full recovery. She is a Networking Specialist and needs the full use of both hands. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 4/26/09

Thank you Mary and all. All the prayers have gotton us through thus far!

Love to all, give your kids an extra hug today they can always use one!

God bless,

Oh my gosh!! I am soooo sorry, NVBarbara--soooo very sorry.

Congress is about to pass a law on "Hate speech". The thing is, there are so many preachers that are not called by God to preach. These preachers have never been bought and paid for by God's Blood. So, this kinda puts a bad light on the one, or two, or three, of us out here that God truly has saved. God tells me that only 1 in 100 preachers are truly His. In any case, the unsaved preachers are not preaching from God, they are not preaching from the heart, they are preaching in and from the flesh. So their preaching may be hate, and it is definitely comimng from the devil. This is an issue which no one is addressing today. False preachers, YOU "SHOULD GET OUT OF THE PULPITS". Get rid of the DEVIL'S PREACHERS!
---catherine on 4/23/09

Thank you Darlene. I sent out an APB (All Prayers Bulletin!) to most on my mailing list.

No, my nephew Jeff is in Afghanistan until Dec. and is well, I have had a couple of e mails from him in the past few days, he is SO thankful for everyone's prayers!

The unspeakable tragedy is that one of my other nephews, Michael, commited suicide last Friday. He was 39 years old, the son of my eldest sister and her husband.
Their oldest son died 3 years ago at age 39 of a massive heart attack.
Its just beyond understanding. Mike leaves a wife and 2 sons ages 5 & 7 as well as his sister and a greiving family.

Thanks to all who have, and will pray for our family during this most difficult time.
God bless.
---NV_Barbara on 4/22/09

Oh Barbara, I'm very sorry to hear this about your nephew. You and your whole family are in my prayers. God bless.
---sue on 4/22/09

NVBarbara I'm so sorry to hear of your families loss. Was it the nephew who was overseas in war? I still pray for you and your family everyday but didn't realize you had this special need. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 4/22/09

I just want to thank everyone for being such faithful prayer partners.

Thank you for all the kind and loving e-mails many of you have sent after the tragic death of my nephew. I have shared each one as an encouragement to my sister and her husband and to my nephew's wife.

God bless all of you and thank you so very much.

Just for information Gentlemen. A typical biscuit in the South/Texas would consist of flour, baking powder, sweetmilk or canmilk with equal water, salt, and either lard/shortening or oil. If you cut the lard in you get a flaky biscuit, using oil you get a puffy softer biscuit. Biscuits are also sometimes made with baking soda instead of bakingpowder but you must use buttermilk instead of sweetmilk which helps make the soda rise. The recipe I like best nowadays is go to the grocery store, get frozen biscuits, pop them in the oven, cook, take out, butter, and eat with jam.
---Darlene_1 on 4/20/09

JohnnyB ... That makes the US biscuit much like our scone.

But it odes not fit in with the French meaning for biscuit, which literally means "baked twice"
---alan8566_of_UK on 4/19/09

I was not addressing you I was being got out of hand and was being sarcastic I need to repent!.

Trish glad your foot wasn't broken. I already had been praying for your daughter and the baby. I will continue to pray for you all. God Bless Not on here much lately as we have fleas hatched on the floor around the computer the only way I can use computer is to put my feet up in a drawer, yes,go on and laugh, its so silly. Our dog never even has fleas but I guess she did. We've treated her but harder to find something we can use in the house and stay in it.
---Darlene_1 on 4/17/09

Please pray for my daughter. She called to tell me that the doctor is ordering an ultrasound. She is five months pregnant, and the doctor is concerned about the size of her baby/uterus. My daughter is feeling very stressed lately due to her husband's health, and the possibility that he may not be able to keep working in his current job due to the health issue.

Hi Catherine, sorry but can you explain what you were talking about? I'm confused--thanks :D
---Mary on 4/16/09

I am praising the Lord, YES, in that, some people either looks like the devil or a witch. Give them a pitchfork, csn not tell the difference, or give them a broom and they fly away!
---catherine on 4/15/09

I am praising the Lord that my foot is not broken, but badly bruised instead. I was in the emergency room on Sunday, where I was told my foot was broken. The orthopedist believes it is badly damaged tendons.
---Trish9863 on 4/14/09

Alan, a USA biscuit is a very simple breadlike product made from a dough consisting of flour, baking powder and water, spooned onto a baking pan and cooked in the oven for ten or fifteen minutes. Many people buy a boxed product here called Bisquick and just add the water. Hope that explained it somewhat!

Ralph....Thanks for explaining. That helps me understand better what is going on. Thank the Lord that he watches out for those who are not always able to watch out for themselves.
---KarenD on 4/13/09

Trish....It appears as if Ralph was just trying to clear the air regarding the situation with Mary. It helps me to know that there are special circumstances with her. My prayers will be with her that the Lord will bring a loving, caring person into her life that will be there for her.
---KarenD on 4/13/09

Congratulations Duane!!!!! My two older kids are married. My youngest has yet to complete college, or get on his feet financially, so I am not eager to see him married yet.

Ralph: This is not the place to trash talk anyone. Share praises, prayer requests, etc. Plenty of people have "emotional issues" and do fine in raising their children.
---Trish9863 on 4/13/09

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter. I am currently heading back to work after an extended Spring Break. I was able to visit my daughter's family in Michigan, and enjoy helping her with my granddaughter. My daughter is expecting a new baby in August. My grandson is due at the beginning of August.

"I'm so sorry you weren't expecting wouldn't that have been a beautiful gift since you have no children."-Darlene 1

Let's not go overboard here. Under the circumstances I would say that it is a very good thing that there is not a child on the way.

Mary does not have a job because of some sort of disability for which she receives monetary support. She has disclosed that she is now, or has been on medication for some mental issues I believe. It sounds like the would-be father would have very little interest in dealing with a child, not to mention being connected to Mary through the child for the next 18 years.

Very fortunate outcome for all involved.
---ralph7477 on 4/13/09

Now we get into culinary details!
You say ... "USA biscuits are UK scones"
Are you sure? In the UK we have two kinds of scones, and both are soft and "Bready" They can be sweet or savoury.
But the word"biscuit" is of French derivation, and means twice baked, and that would mean they come out hard, as do our biscuits, and your cookies.
What is the USA biscuit like?
---alan8566_of_UK on 4/13/09

I married off my youngest(19) & last child(Girl) on Easter Sunday & what a blessing & beautiful day it was...
Thank you Father for such a "Good Day"
---Duane_Dudley_Martin_Jr. on 4/13/09

UK Alan, you are right, of course. I should have said USA cookies are UK biscuits and USA biscuits are UK scones.

Mary: My heart goes out to you, as I can totally understand your mixed emotions at the possibility of being pregnant, yet being unmarried. I was pregnant, and unmarried, 33 years ago, at the age of 18. God's grace and love saw me through that, and two other pregnancies, along with the marriage that came with it.

Now, at age 51, I praise Him for those wonderful children, and my granddaughter, and my soon-to-be grandson.

I pray you will be able to accept God's love and forgiveness. I do not judge. There but for God's grace, go I. You are no different than me in that we both need Jesus.
---Trish9863 on 4/11/09

Bless you Darlene, thank you. Your letter nearly made me cry it was so beautiful--thank you honey :)
---Mary on 4/11/09

I think it must depend where you are!

I beleive the english biscuit is very much like the american cookie.

But our biscuit is nothing like either english or scottish scones!

Mary I think it was sweet of you to share such a precious and special moment in your life. My mother-in-law had my husbands youngest brother at 45,it does sometimes happen. I'm so sorry you weren't expecting wouldn't that have been a beautiful gift since you have no children. As for not being married that is between you and God who am I to judge. All you have to do is say God please forgive me for my sins,in Jesus name,so simple,God is no respecter of persons and he loves you, just not sin, thats true for all of us. I've known many women who listened to their hearts not their heads and chose the wrong man. It has been my experience to see that most familes love their children no matter what the circumstances of their birth.
---Darlene_1 on 4/10/09

Karen, I was NOT BRAGGING about the potential pregnancy but as a 45-year old woman with no children, you'll have to excuse me if I was somewhat excited at the same time. But I was not bragging.
---Mary on 4/10/09

I spent this evening baking Easter biscuits
---alan8566_of_UK on 4/10/09

Mary...Thanks! Now I know for sure that you and Rebecca are not the same person. From her posts, I know that she has a great husband who loves the Lord like she does. By the way, it's not us you have to worry about condemning you. We condemn ourselves when we sin. I am shocked that you would so openly brag about a possible pregnancy under the circumstances though. Many of us here had no idea you weren't married. I still just can't figure out people who let themselves get so deceived by the Devil.

---Mary on 4/10/09

Catherine, you need to go back and read 1 Timothy 2:1-2. When Paul wrote this to Timothy, Nero was the Emperor of Rome. He was about as unGODLY as a person could be. And dictator? If you didn't do what he told you, you would likely lose your life. All government is in place by God's permission, even the unGodly ones. They are given authority as enforcers of God's law, though many of them do a very poor job of it. So, either pray for leaders as instructed, or rebel.? You decide.
---tommy3007 on 4/10/09

Mary, don't worry kid. It's not like this is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing.

I just assumed that you must have gotten married suddenly if you were coming on here being so open with the pregnancy talk. I mean, nobody forced you to post it.

Why are so many Christian blogs working on Good Friday? Boundless by Focus on the Family is working today too. For that matter why am I working today? We used to get Good Friday as a holiday. Now it is a floater and I take it with Christmas to spend with family. The Jews and Muslims at our company complained about being forced off on Good Friday but not their own days, so the company compromised and made it a floater. Still over 1/2 of the people are off today!

Hi Donna, thank you so much honey, yeah I got the results of my blood test back yesterday and it confirmed I'm not pregnant, which is really a good thing even though I cried a lot. Ralph, here comes my beating and I hope you will be merciful 'cause I feel bad enough: I'm not married. I made a tremendous mistake when I fell in love with someone (who has since rejected me completely by the way), I am ashamed but I am also painfully human. I won't make that mistake again.
---Mary on 4/10/09

Ask God to bless a dictator, I don't think so! When human government exalt themselves above GOD, we do not pray for them, we ask God to remove them. Jesus also taught that earthly governments exists by God's will look in John 19:11, and are LEGITIMATE AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT take over the role reserved for God. "We ought to obey God rather than man". Revelation 13...discusses it degenerate and demonic. When governments promote good and supress evil, then we pray for them. And they fulfil their God given function [Titus 3:1] and [1 Peter 2: 13-14]. But if Government exalts itself as sovereign over ALL life, then it has overstepped its bounds and it is a handmaid of EVILLLLL. Do you love your country? REALLY!
---catherine on 4/10/09

Hi, me again. I just expect that some people will verbally flog me for not being married. Yes I blew it. And believe me, I've paid dearly for it. Even my ex-boyfriend is being very cold and cruel to me right now. Believe me, I've learned my lesson. So hope anyone else who has sinned (in ways just as bad as me) will refrain from judging me, I will find out, thanks.
---Mary on 4/10/09

WoW! Catherin, Speak for yourself, God says that we should pray for our Leaders!I happen to pray that God bless our President, protect him and lead him to make all the right decisions to protect and defend this country that I Love.

---ralph7477 on 4/10/09

Catherine, all the prayers in the world didn't get rid of an evil tyrant like Hitler until he had caused tens of millions of deaths. So I doubt that your prayers will get rid of our new president, whom I like very much and who is not an evil man. God bless.
---JohnnyB on 4/9/09

Karen: No I am not Mary. I haven't been pregnant since 2002. I had a hystrectomy done in September, 2007. I went to the ER one time long after I had my hystrectomy and the the P.A. (not quite a doctor), told me that I was pregnant. I said "WHAT?" How can I bake a cake without an oven? He said that was what the test showed. I told him I know Jesus is coming back, but I know that he isn't coming back that way. Right before that, I had to do a CT scan on my kidney and pelvis, so it showed I didn't have my female parts. Needless to say I don't go to that ER anymore.
---Rebecca_D on 4/9/09

I shall tell you what's up. We have got to get rid of Obama. Now, I have asked God to remove him from office. He is a dictator. Yes, I love my country. But, more and more it is beginning to feel more like China, instead of America. What to do? I shall wait on God. I shall obey my God till I die. I am not too good to die for righteousness. May God's strength be mine. Hallelujah! Because I am certainly going to need it, in the days, months, and years to come.

I'm having a blood test done Wednesday to confirm the negative pregnancy test I took yesterday :( And I will ask my doctor how that happens. At first I had to go to my urologilist in PA, but turns out he didn't get enough volume in my urine collection, to check it. I know that's gross. But anyhow, his nurse is sending me another test kit so I can redue this and go and see him next month. I know I gave them a full 24 hour urine collection. But that said if I did give them a full 24 hr urine collection, what I gave wasn't normal. There wasn't enough to test. But in other news I had my mammogram done and Praise God no cancer, just full of cysts. So still taking it one day at a time.

Thank you Donna, and yes you are correct in your assessment of our world situation. Evil is indeed becoming more rampant, many blaming this on the current economic crisis, like the man in Washington state that held up a convenience store with his 9 year old daughter standing right beside him. We certainly need to be praying as you said 2 Chronicles 7:14 and also for revival starting with ourselves first. God bless all and keep on striving for the prize!
---tommy3007 on 4/6/09

Congratulations Mary! Is this your first?

Tommy-glad you got your job back and that your wife's surgery was a success.

After a long year of trying to sell my father's house, we are making settlement on April 15th - can't wait. It has caused much stress in our lives due to the housing market, but God came through when I asked Him to send me a buyer and I asked for a certain price for the house - God gave me a both exactly as I asked Him.

Evil seems to be rampant on this earth. Three massacre's in 2 days, Pittsburgh Police-3 shot dead, Binghamton, NY I believe 13 were killed? and Washington State a man opened fire and killed his five kids. Let's pray according to 2nd Chronicles 7:14. Can we depend upon you to be in prayer?

It's time for Praising the Lord! I have gone back to work with my former employer after a seven week lay-off, in a time when many are still losing their jobs, Praise God for His faithfulness. My wife had gall bladder surgery on Thrusday the 2nd, and is currently recuperating from that. They were able to remove the stones and gall bladder without having to make a large incision. Praise God for that, too! I have seen an increase in the number of men attending chapel services at the prison where my wife and I volunteer, I praise the Lord for that and ask your continued prayers that I be faithful to follow the Lord's guidance as I minister.
