bruce- Also consider John 3:13. Jesus Christ said, "And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven." Good work, 1stcliff. I'd forgotten about that one. I'll add it to my list.

Hi, I don't know the answers to this debate but I do know one thing: I want to be able to kneel at my Lord's feet and thank Him endlessly for His grace to me, for all the times I haven't deserved it. That will take me a while lol! :D

Bruce, Let me answer for Betty.
Psl.115.16."The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man"
Because Jesus mentioned taking some with Him to co-rule with him for a thousand years, all the fundamentalists jump on the bandwagon saying "Hey, that's me!" (well buddy, you don't choose, He does)
"Blessed are the meek for they inherit the earth" ...Are you meek???

Betty,
"No people will be in Heaven. That is God's dwelling place. Only God and angels are in Heaven."

Could you put that in context with this verse please?

John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also."

Jesus is God. Where He is we will be. How does this fit with your statment?

I believe time as we know it does not exist in Heaven. God created Adam and Eve as "adults" and infants did not appear until their children were born outside Eden where time existed with sin. In Heaven I believe all will be the same "age" and without sexuality.

I believe all believers will be regenerated (quickened) spirits clothed in physically glorified, incorruptable (ageless), perfect bodies. (1 Cor. 15:35-58, 2 Cor. 5:17)
---Leon on 5/25/09

This is a question that only generates much speculation, we do not/cannot know anyone's age in Heaven. The ONLY thing we need to know is that we will have a glorified body suited to live forever with Jesus Christ our LORD, IF we have received Him and His sacrifice on our behalf and lived our lives accordingly. "If you love me, keep my commandments." Be sure your beliefs are Biblical and not man-made so that you don't find yourself in the group in Matthew 7:21-23.

Mima,

If we recognise and know each other how will heaven cope with the tears and recognition that some of us as faithful as we may seem will not make it with all due respect God said he will wipe away out tears and the memory of the life we lived will be no more.

It makes sense to me that we will not know we'll just angels with God?

I remember reading something somewhere where I came to the thought I will not know my children and indeed who in heaven could know our loved ones somehow did not make it and be happy seen that there will be no sadness there?

This is a very intriguing question. At the end my mother was wasted away in very bad condition, however when she was up and going she was gaiety itself. I told the minister who preached my mothers funeral, now you remember my mother of course and remember how gay and happy she always was pleased preach this funeral accordingly.

What do I think? I have a strange belief about this I believe that you can be the age you want to be in heaven perhaps or here is a totally different scenario, suppose you can be the age that you were when someone saw you when you met them on earth. One thing is for certain we will recognize and know each other in heaven.l

What is it that will age?
The body with all it's parts are left in the grave.Eyes, ears, nose, mouth etc... what is there to recognize? A wisp of air?
Legs necessary? what is there to walk on?? a cloud? Clothes remain in the grave, are these ghosts naked? Sexed male and female?
Why, no procreation takes place there!
All this misunderstanding is a result of not knowing the purpose why some go to heaven. NO, not everyone!!
"Behold I create new heaven and NEW EARTH!"
Do you know why NEW EARTH???
---1st_cliff on 5/19/09

I think that regardless of our ages, we will all look young.
---amand6348 on 5/19/09

We only age here on earth. When we die, it is like a new birth. And everyone allowed into Heaven will be childlike in their faith and obedience to God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. No ages in Heaven, no clocks in Heaven IMHO.

tonne: "The Bible clearly states that you must be child like to get into heaven so maybe we do go back to infancy."

To be "child-like" is to be pure at heart. People who are pure at heart shed their adult inhibitions.

To truly understand scriptures, one must read through the eyes of a child. Adults have too much knowledge, too many mind conflicts, too many ideas. They read the bible and try to analyze every verse they read.

As for the question at hand, read about those in the first resurrection and those in the second resurrection.

Excellent question, and a fine reply.
Both will provoke thought.
