Cluny.
Still right.
For r-catholocism the first Man-made trin-church then her offsring churches- presby, luth, aog, bapt, naz, method, cog, etc., are found here, Bible prophecy, Rev 17 v's 4-6. For r-catholocism even is called the mother apostate church & then her apostate daughters churches. Even the god's of the muslam's, buddha, hindu etc will fall in line also. All part of the god of this world,
satan, even 2nd Cori 11 v's 14-15.

Was the Eastern Orthodox churches and the Coptic church a breakoff from the church at Rome?

I believe church history reveals they were never part of the Roman church.

Of course, a Roman Catholic child is taught that Matthew 16:18 refers to their particular denominatons but anyone that has done a study will certainly dispute that.

And we can see that there is nothing in either church history or the Bible that even suggests any authority was handed downward to the bishops of Rome.

It is all about church politics and the struggle for power.

\\Do you both not know that r-catholocism the first trin-church & the naz - presby - bapt -aog - method - cog - episc etc churches are the offspring churches from r-catholocism?\\

Wrong again, Lawrence.

I would study up on his faith and see why he is not practicing. Remember religion means practice. I play the piano religiously. If the practices you are utilizing are drawing you closer to Christ then you are on track. Catholics have practices like fasting, tithing, prayers, everyday mass, these practices don't make them better christians but any body who practices anything will tell you that is how you improve. What practices are you using that your husband can respect. Ask him about practices from his youth. Why is he not willing to be the spiritual head? Ask all with kindness and humility. I will intercede and ask the Lord to Bless your marriage and open your husbands hurt heart to Him.

kathy: Many "Christians" on this site make rude comments about other peoples' denominations. Abide in the Lord. Grow thick skin. Realize that he wouldn't say such things if he knew how much Jesus loves him.

--My husband makes rude comments about the Bible church I attend, like calling it a cult. He is a non practicing Catholic. What should it do?

As a wife be all you should be. Pray for Him and ignore his remarks.

I did that for my ex-wife who at one time was an R-Catholic. She constantly criticized me for going to church with the children. She eventually took off with someone else so I filed for divorce, got the house, the car & the kids.

Dont know why the husband would say such about a cult. Do you both not know that r-catholocism the first trin-church & the naz - presby - bapt -aog - method - cog - episc etc churches are the offspring churches from r-catholocism?, which Is the trin-family body of churches,(Man-made)because there is No scriptural built-basis for these.
The above started a number of years after God's Church was born on the day of Pentecost according to Acts 2 v's 37-41 which Fulfills Matt 28 v's 19-20, Gal 1 v's 8-9. Straight is the gate & narrow is the way & be few to find it.

each person must work out their own salvation ...if you don't believe your church is a cult than why would you want to create hostility by defending it and fueling your husbands contempt?

your husband is a "non-practicing catholic" because he chooses not to be involved in that cult anymore

if it is a cult you will see this when you discuss this with your church friends and all they want to do is invade your home to pray for him or GET him to church so they can "convert him"

If Kathy wanted to know, I'm sure she would have asked, susieb.

If he were my husband, I'd ask him if he wants to tell the minister & congregation that. If says yes, I'd get him to go to church with me & find out what he says in front of them. I bet he'd get off his high horse then.

I would takee him to a church event, I had sister in Christ that have unbelievers as husbands and they show them love, there attentive, and the dont answer back when its something rude. Try to involve him with soething or have a barbecue or a bible reading session at your home and have joyful spirited brothers star a converssation with your husband and pray effortlessly for him.

\\ cluny...I think you probably ought to put those three standards in plain English.\\

Which one or ones do you not understand, susieb?

They are all standard English words.
---Cluny on 7/21/09

cluny...I think you probably ought to put those three standards in plain English. It would be nice to know just which "Bible church" Kathy attends. Even the Mormons use a Bible.

don't take it to heart
don't get upset
don't answer back

pray for him, yourself and the family
with time your life, love and tolerance will prove him wrong

do you mind finding out for yourself whether your church is a cult or not?
which church is it? what are the basic doctrines?

although you do not need to be upset by people's rude comments, it is ok to take a closer look to see if there is some truth in their comments.

pt 1
the only comment I have for catholics is

1. mary is the mother of jesus? mary is only an instrument for christ to be born & carry out the plan of god. mary is NOT sinless that catholics claim.

2. purgatory exists? when you die there is not purgatory.

3. idols in the church like st. peter, baby jesus, & other statues that the bible consider idolatry

4. sabbath is saturday not sunday.

Hi, Kathy . . . if you would, please, tell us what are things about your church, that your husband says would mean your church is a cult? I think of how certain churches may act weird in a public service, and be tempting people to think they are a cult, but Paul our Apostle to the Gentiles says things need to be done in order when "uninformed or unbelievers" are present > 1 Corinthians 14:20-25. And if you are yacking endlessly on the phone, when your family needs your attention > this can be socially inbreeding with birds of your own feather > favoritistic, incrowd love is cultic > plus, Jesus says, "if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" in Matthew 5:46. So, we might learn from what he has to say.
---Bill_bila5659 on 7/21/09

Politely respond-"Yes, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it." Don't get upset, seeing as how he probably wants you to do this.

Now you know how people here feel when similar rude comments are made about Roman Catholics or Orthodox, don't you?

I've noticed there are several marks to a cult. Among them are:

1. Defective Christology.
2. Radical Sectarianism.
3. Novel Doctrines.

Does your church have any of these signs?

Don't answer me. Just think about it yourself and decide.
---Cluny on 7/21/09

After requesting that he stop, there is nothing more you can do, except to pray.

Prayer can help you immensely. Also, seek an older, mature Christian woman in your church to disciple/mentor you, and be a partner in prayer for you concerning your marriage.
