People who reject God only have this life on earth, whatever they gain on earth is their only reward,if you want to call it that, they have no chance of any reward in Heaven. Christians on the other hand have choosen to live for God and our big reward is to go to Heaven to see our Master, all our dead loved ones and friends, plus a "little" thing called eternal life. Frankly I think the rich sinners on earth have made a very poor trade, punishment in fire and never to be with God. So you see the rich on earth, who are sinners, are really the poorest when they are measured against what God does for his people. Even on earth we are blessed to have the ear of Christ who is the mediator between God and humans with our prayers.

Any soul who rejects God and "exists", Not "lives", for a soul cannot truly live life without God, is not really happy. For if you could look inside of them you would see a large empty hole devoid of love, and they keep trying to fill this hole inside of themselves with all manner of things that can never bring them true joy: things like materialism and toys and parties and people and lots of friends and entertainments and travels, all these things are temporal and cannot fill the void meant only to be filled by the soul's Maker. When you cut out the Maker, you cut out the essential substance of your soul, and all the superficial things of the world can never match the matchless one.

Simple - avoid envy (covetousness) as the tenth commandment says and you will have no concern for what others have or have not.
Judge not others lest you be judged.
The wicked will pay in time - concern yourself with your own salvation. When the bible speaks of reward and abundance -- think in spiritual terms not materialism.

You need to really read your bible so you can understand what is going around you in the spirit realm.Christians are living defeated and downtrodden lives because they will not and do not follow the Word of God and His teachings. You must know why you are a Christian and how to live a victorius life.
Let the word speak for itself: Please read Psalm 73.......over and over until you understand it..God bless

Well, I have fussed with God about this one, enough! There are not any clear answers. Keep in mind that all the wicked man has is right here. They will be making their permanent home in hell. Not a happy place, at all. God's people may have to suffer a lot, but God will always pull you through and deliver you. Sometimes through death, heaven you go. Sometimes you remain on this earth keep working. As the Bible explains it: "As long as God has work for you to do, God will prolong your life". Hallelujah!

As stated in Matthew 5:45, He makes His sun rise and His rain fall on the just and the unjust, alike.
If one uses their gifts and talents, and works to obtain a prosperous life, they will eventually prosper. If one doesn't do so, they won't.
As for happiness, I don't know many who reject God and are truly happy. Most do not have inner-peace, are eaten away by their past, have dysfunctional families and are constantly chasing happiness in "things".
Conversely, many are dirt-poor and, while they suffer physically from lack and even disease, they embrace Him and trust Him for their eternal peace. On the surface they suffer, but internally they have peace and are filled with hope.

they dont, the flesh loves the world, their perception of being happt is a world view, and satan dont need to do battle with people who never give God a thought.I would add that they are the walking dead, and will have no life after they die,so wheres their joy then?
---tom2 on 8/30/09|
Father does not directly supply an answer to this question except to say that they have their reward now, in this life, and it is not to be compared to that which He has prepared for those who love Him.
He simply tells us "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, [Here is one of the reasons Jessica] 'because of the [One] who bringeth wicked devices to pass'. For they shall soon be cut down... evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth."
See Psa.37:1-40. Consider deeply Psa.37:16, as well as Ecc. 5:18-20 especially verse20.

rewards are guaranteed in heaven, not here.

The riches that Jesus promised us are NOT material but spiritual.
Christians who expect God to give them material riches are as bad as the non-believers who seek these materail riches because they have nothing worthier to strive for

Although rich people are not all ungodly but a good percentage does reject god. Why do they prosper financially or in anything else in this world whether a great singer, basketball player, president, pope, ect... (Mat 4:8-9) tells us clearly, "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them, And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." they have bowed their knees to Satan and the powers that are of the world. As for me I will worship the lord my God.
---Metuschelah on 7/31/09|
jessica, the unsaved and ungodly are not happy. They may appear to be happy because they think that this life is good, and that's all they need - a good, healthy life, with money.
There is a scripture that says, "There is no peace for the wicked" says the Lord.
Read Psalm 76.
Godly people struggle because they do not obey God's word. Read Deuteronomy and some of the Old Testament where God tells them, "you did not obey my voice(which is the Word of God) and you did not obey my commands, and my statues, etc.,"
Unforgiveness is the number one reason why God's people suffer and not tithing is another reason why God's people struggle. What area are you struggling in?
---anon on 7/27/09|
All people prosper but it depends on how you look at your own blessing having money and wealth is a good way to prosper, Paul though he of all people who is and did do Gods will should really prosper to the max but he was counted as dung!
The wicked always look as if their prospering but being Rich is not prospering, The REAL diamonds and pearls are the searching of the Gospels and gaining eternal life those are the MOST important Gems worth obtaining money and wealth cannot be set against the day of judgment it has no value but your gems of salvation are worth a rich and everlasting return more precious than pure Gold.
---Carla3939 on 7/27/09|
you do realize that scripture says that God wants you to proper, but he says I want your soul to prosper also.As pointed out wordly treasures mean very little.Look at the parable of the rich man and lazarus.Better yet scripture says, for what does is profit a man,if he gain the whole world, but loose his soul.
---tom2 on 7/25/09|
Sin is always prosperous at the beginning and even better its consequences are hidden until ruin or the end. This is the reason many find it so attractive. Sin is a lie by the father of lies.
The life of Christ and the journey of the Jewish people prove God's children benefit mostly at the end of this life as we move to eternal life.
This is because God holds little value for the short time we have on earth where with the sinners that is all there is. In our carnality we hold on to this life strongly because our faith is weak in God's promise of the after life.

Proverbs 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!
---dsda on 7/25/09|
You cannot serve both God and wealth.
---stephen on 7/24/09|
There is no reason to assume that the wealthy are "greedy" or "not storing up riches in heaven". Just as there is no reason to believe that a poor man is more likely to be seeking God. (see crime ststistics)... The Bible does say it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom. (With greater wealth comes greater responsibility)
People who reject God may be prosperous and may THINK they are happy...but scratch the surface and you are apt to see something else!
Paul said (1 Timothy 6:8)
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
---Donna66 on 7/24/09|
one reason also is an out off balanced life.
1 the bible tells us in proverbs that hard work, skills, knowledge of our business can make us prosper. but most of the televangelist recommend that 10% will make you proseper.
2another is christians who are dysfunctional will judge that money is the root of all evil & that 'blessed are the poor'
3 when christians are given the wrong verse & explanation to obey these 'enslaving' verses in the name of being godly, then we become bondage with wrong teachings.
---mike on 7/24/09|
God is testing you to see what you will do.
If you have it easy and get all that you want, you will never need to call upon God for anything.
read the 2 corithians 12,
2 corithians 12:10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

To God's Children, the Eternal Salvation & Peace our Soul has found in the Love of the Lord is our definition of prosperity & happiness.
Our struggles in His Name are to prove what is that Good & Acceptable & Perfect Will of God. During these struggles our 'Minds' are to be renewed & transformed to what's spoken of in James 1:25, so we may find ourselves prosperously blessed in deed & in health, even as our Soul has prospered.
So, Do not think in your heart & allow yourself to be conformed to what the world seems to perceive as happiness or prosperity because it profits a man nothing to gain the whole world and lose his own Soul by rejecting the Lord!!
Grace Unto You & Peace Be Multiplied

Because their entire focus is on material (as opposed to spiritual) gain. Christ's warning clarifies what I mean: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Mt6:19-21).

A general panoramic picture of struggling lives indicate that the rich usually have less problems while the lesser have more but in all living lives we observe have we not realized that we do not observe the inner personal life only the outer physical life that is exposed to us.
There is apparent happiness and there is true and real happiness.
The happiest of all people are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
---earl on 7/23/09|
Jessica: For folk who reject God, this is the only heaven they'll ever know. For Godly people, this is the only hell we'll know.
So, let me ask you. Who's really living prosperously, persons who're now enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season (temporarily) & are storing up treasures for themselves for a few short years while they live on earth or persons who store up their treasures in heaven to their eternal benefit & gain?
---Leon on 7/23/09|
People who reject God can be hard working, diligent people who strive towards their goals and objectives, therefore becoming prosperous.
Likewise, there are many people who believe in God who do not engage in activities that produce prosperity.
In any event, our focus should be on a future beyond this life for us and our prosperous, or not so prosperous neighbors.
---ralph7477 on 7/23/09|
The rich Are seduced by the god of this world(satan),increased with good's & have need of nothing. Sure some may thank God for what they have, But, it's still the god of this world have them in derision believeing their okay. God's Word tells us that His People will suffer & struggle some.
---Lawrence on 7/23/09|
Funny thing about prosperity. It doesn't necessarily mean you are happy.
---SusieB on 7/22/09|
This question is as old as the Bible itself.
Job struggled with it.
Even David asked the same question.
Read Psalm 73. You'll find your question and at least part of your answer there.
---Cluny on 7/22/09|
Satan is the father of lies, and he will cause people who are not in God's family to be self-sufficient in order to keep them from seeking Him. It may seem unfair from our earthly perspective, but realize that if these prosperous people do not accept Christ, they will spend eternity in Hell.
As much as I don't like the pain I have been through in my life, it has caused me to seek the Lord and deepen my relationship with Him.

dear, the uncodly,or unsaved are spiritually dead,so how are they prosperous?the lifetime we live here as described by jesus is a mere puff of smoke in comparison with eternity. We struggle against our flesh, and the world, satan and his demons, the lost or ungodly are dead and dont know it.
