Lower Cholesterol Or Die

Doctor told me my cholesterol is over 350 and if I don't change my diet, I'm going to have a heart attack and die. This does not seem that high. What can I do to lower my cholesterol fast?

A prayer for you.
Father we come before you in the name of your son Jesus and under the righteousness of his shed blood!!! We asked you heavenly Father to intercede in this problem in this man's life. The question is not whether you Father have the capability to do this, the question is will you do this. Your word clearly says you have not because you asked not, and as you can clearly see and hear we are asking you to lower this persons cholesterol. We thank you for hearing us. Yes, 350 is high. But heredity is a very important contributor to the health of your heart. High cholesterol runs in some families. But IF heart disease killed any of your near relatives, you are in more danger.

There's nothing you can do to bring down your cholesterol FAST, except take medication prescribed by your doctor.

I mistyped. I meant to say exercise 4 times a WEEK, not a day.

As for whether your doc is a believer, medicine is a science, and you can be treated by any qualified doctor you trust.

350 is scary high. Don't start with the fruit and vegetables advice start and end with exercise, then worry about the diet.
If your cholesterol is that high you need to get your heart working to lower your level. The strongest muscle in your body is in danger and it needs to be strengthened. No amount or types of food will help. Healthy foods will preserve a healthy heart and may stop cholesterol from increasing, but to lower cholesterol quickly you'll need to take a prescription. To strengthen your heart you'll need moderate to vigorous exercise.
First see a doctor about what your heart can handle and then run, bike, swim and lift to nearly exahaustion. There are no shortcuts to the folks you see in the fitness commercials.

Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eliminate ALL fatty and fried food from your diet: McDonald's, Other Restaurants, etc. Exercise A LOT more. This will increase the level of HDL (good cholesterol) and decrease the level of LDL (bad cholesterol).

Low fat, low carb, but high fiber diet and regular cardio exercise program. Lots of fruit and veggies, lean meats, and high fiber grains. Nothing below 3 grams of fiber per serving. Do 30 minutes of aerobic exercise four times a day too.

A heavily vegetarian diet will help. Eat as few eggs as possible.

So will exercise, or at least more physical activity.
