Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel FOR EVER: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Revelation 14:7 worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters

No one can KNOWINLY not keep the sabbath and claim to be worshiping God

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
---francis on 7/24/13

H. francis, it is you who is not very bright. you say now,
"Sabbatarians keep the sabbath because we worship the CREATOR"
No they don't, if they worship the Creator, they would worship Him every second of the day. You do not. You do not want to give Him all your time, only Saturdays. You have one special day to worship Him, when you want to. New Testament believers worship Christ every second of the day, we are in Christ, and He lives in us now. Sabbatarians only want to give Him one day out of the week and that day only because the Law of Moses told them to, if it had not they, would never even bother.
---Mark_V. on 7/24/13

---Mark_V. on 7/23/13
You are not very bright, and you have very limited biblical knowledge. You have no understanding.

Psalms 111:10 a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:

See why you have been not elected!!

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:..For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,

The sabbath commandment tells us that God is OUR creator and OUR God.

Sabbatarians keep the sabbath because we worship the CREATOR

Those who keep sunday derived their doctrine from those Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature ( THE SUN) more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 1:25
---francis on 7/24/13

heretical francis, you now give,
"Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
..For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it"

That law is for you and all SDA's. You are still under the written law, and in denial of the Spirit of the law.

Now back to the question,
I believe God gives visions to some people that do not know the Bible clearly. If they knew the Bible clearly they would need no more visions. Scripture is sufficient for all believers.
---Mark_V. on 7/23/13

Now back to the blog question

A vision or prophecy does not have to be for everyone in the church. It may be for a congregation in one area, dealing with a particular issue concerning that congregation alone

God has not stopped talking to his people
---francis on 7/21/13

---Mark_V. on 7/21/13
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
..For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Those who truly believe that Jesus is God and that Jesus is the creator keep the sabbath because keeping the sabbath is an act of FAITH which shows that we do believe that Jesus is creator and did create the world in six days

Second of all name ONE other arch Angel besides Michael?

The reason why there are no other Arch angels is because Jesus is the ONLY chief messenger of God( ARCH ANGEL) Rev 1:1, Gen 31:11-13, Exod 14:19, Acts 27:23, Gal 4:14, Malachi 3:1
---francis on 7/21/13

Read Acts 2:16-2:21
1 Corinthians chapter 12
Ephesians 4:9-13

The word of God confirms 3 witnesses that God does still appoint prophets.

One can argue all they like with the Word of God but it does not change the fact that the Word of God is above humble human opinion and is truth, Undisputed.
God will continue to appoint them until Christ comes back for his Church
---g on 7/21/13

H. francis, you like all cult members do anything with the word of God to deminish the deity of Jesus Christ.
Your teachings do that everyday. Jesus is God and Creator of all things including archangels.
---Mark_V. on 7/21/13

God's word is NOT limited to what we have in the 66 books

Who dares tell God that he should no longer speak, or that we have heard enough from God!!!

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
---francis on 7/19/13

"2 Timothy 3:16,17) explains that,
"All Scripture is given by insiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works"
---Mark_V. on 7/19/13
This does not say that God will not call for his people another prophet. It tells you some of the used and purpose of scripture.

This is your logic then that explains your son rejection of Jesus Christ

Bible says that in the last days we shall have dreams and visions from God, you reject that, and teach contrary, it is understandable why your son cannot follow you

Maybe he knows that you are .....
---francis on 7/19/13

heretic francis, you did not understand the Word of God, and so here it is again,
"2 Timothy 3:16,17) explains that,
"All Scripture is given by insiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works"

God is sufficient for meeting all our needs by His written Word.
Of course you want to believe in new prophets like E.G. White. You are a slave to her, because you could never abandon your prophet for the Truth, the written Word of God. The Word of God is not sufficient for you, it needs the help of a prophetess.
---Mark_V. on 7/19/13

God is sufficient for meeting all our needs by His written Word.
-Mark_V. on 7/17/13

Are you aware that there is nothing is God's written word that limited the bible to 66 books?

Are you aware that God will call another prophet(s)?

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets

Are you aware that God has promised to send more visions?

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

At Pentecost we saw the Spirit poured out, where were the dreams and vision?

May I also, add in agreement as far as the so- called "Religious institutions" Bro.Mark has a point valid because I used to watch alot
"Christian TV" I call it " cults,tv" He brings a point just because on TV they say things, you know it may or may not be true.We all know without mention names, alot of these ministries are out for the mighty buck! $ dollar bills, I do not watch them anymore. God does His own way, He God all by himself, He doesn't need humans interference
on TV.
---lidia4796 on 7/18/13

I'm a naysayer, because most of the cults were formed when their supposed prophets received special visions, visitations or revelations from God, and they supposely were told to form special church or movement. Among them are the Mormons, Christian Science, jehovah Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventist. Each claims God spoke or appeared to them directly and now they represent God and men should follow them.
2 Timothy 3:16,17) explains that,
"All Scripture is given by insiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works" God is sufficient for meeting all our needs by His written Word.

---lidia4796 on 7/15/13

Wow I'm seeing some naysayers here on visions. God used a vision to reveal to me my call.

It wasn't a trance, it was active, I mean that at the same time as I was interacting in the real world the vision of what God was showing me was interacting with the real world and with me, oh and it affected me physically too, but I won't get into the details, I'll only say I was under the influence of only the Holy Spirit.

Visions not for today? Maybe they're just not for you who say so with no knowledge of the subject and won't believe God enough to receive from him?

I have never had a vision but God has given my family miracles that others would call an accident. my brother has never gotten strangled on food but just once. he had to go to emergency room. as a result, the dr saw a tumor in his stomach. he had surgery and it was cancer. that was appr 8 yrs ago. my sister had outpatient surgery and the one day at the hospital, her heart just stopped. as a result of that, she has an artificial heart valve. if she had been home, she would be dead. there are others too. me, I had xray for upper respitory infection and as a result, I had thyroid cancer that was accidentally found. I would be dead if I had not had x-ray. these are truly miracles.
---shira4368 on 6/11/13

I also had an open vision and would love to know others and there encounters. He handed me two keys from the heavens above, a great big hand did! Months prior to this I heard him say in an audible voice like me speaking to you coming from the belly of my stomach, "MY ABUNDANCE", I said nothing to anyone but a lady in church did, she said "the whole world is mine and whole universe is mine and all there in is mine" and then a sweet lady in front of the church said, "I know you heard my voice, don't tell me you didn't hear my voice, cause I know your heard my voice" I never heard his voice like that since. How I wish to serve him.

Visions are extremely personal between the Lord and His child. You cannot really share a vision because it will not be believed. I have had several in my lifetime, and they have always increased my faith in Jesus Christ my Lord because visions by God are revelations about God that greatly increase faith. A lesson I learned from a vision is that Jesus is really the answer to everything. You think you need healing? No, you need Jesus. When Jesus is present, there is no greater answer.
---pshdsa on 4/26/11

Darlene 1 -- I think I know the experience you tell of. A number of times I have seen a "picture" with the "eye of the spirit" that occurs while I am awake and aware. It sort of superimposes itself over what my physical eyes are seeing. It's not as elaborate or colorful as what is described by those who share their "visions". But it is powerfully meaningful to me and usually leads me into fervent prayer. Perhaps this is an "open Vision", I don't know. I seldom feel led to share it.

Donna66,I guess I am slow but,I still don't get exactly "open vision" really is or how it works. I know what was said but not sure if it was in room with them or in Eye of Spirit(my name for it when you see pictures in your mind)somewhat like a dream but awake. I think 99 & 99/100% of the time my Mini Visions,Eye of Spirit, different from full vision in room with you, which I see is strictly so I will pray for people who are in need and danger. The first thing God gave me as a commited Christian was the heart and call to serve in Intercessary Prayer. Bruce B we are all anointed for whatever area God puts us in to serve. Without that special anointing from God we can't do anything Spiritually.
---Darlene_1 on 8/9/09

Thanks for giving a Biblical answer. I had never heard of an "open" vision.

I won't say that the Lord has quit giving people visions. But I believe they are rare and for a specific purpose which is discernable to whomever has the vision.
Normally, I tend to ignore people who talk about visions. Their visions don't stir anything within my spirit.

We have the Word of God which is sufficient.
And if, for some reason, the Lord chooses to give me a vision, it is for me. There's probably no need to share it, no matter how colorful or "exciting".
---Donna66 on 8/7/09

Actually, Donna,

I just couldn't resist my curiosity to see who realized the truth, or if there would be a continuation of this idea of an open vision being some special heavenly-hookup only available to certain qualified Christians.

This wording, open vision, is found once, in 1Sa 3:1, and it is not technically a term: it's merely a translation, which means, a "divine communication"... from God, to the priests (or prophets), ie: thus saith the Lord, or, let it be so.

In this particular case, God was displeased because of Eli's sons stealing raw flesh from His offerings. So... He put the kibosh on their doings--by croakin' them, "raising up" Samuel in their stead, and making His word scarce.
---BruceB on 8/7/09

there is nothing different today about Gods word,God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, all the promises he has made are forever, atleast while we still live in the world.Everything jesus promised, all the signs and wonders are ,and apply today, all the gifts of the dpirit, because the spirit is still in the world working.People who believe that these gifts, and signs ,amd wonders were only for the apostles are wrong.

Post Your Virtual Prayer Requests

Thanks, BruceB!

I'd hate to embarrass myself by mis-labeling all my visions and confusing all those who eagerly wait to hear of them.
---Donna66 on 8/6/09

How could you not know this term? It's right there in the Bible...

An "open vision" is the lower-level type, which is kinda like a tract house, in that they're all the same: except the paint-colors are varied.

A "closed vision" is like a custom-built mansion on 3 acres... and, therefore, only those "special anointed" ones can find them--seems they are only visible at night. (As far as I can tell... it has something to do with how much grease ya slip the preacher, every Sunday. It helps to have a land-line into God-Central, as well.)
---BruceB on 8/6/09

Twice I have had two people(out of literally hundreds) tell me that they saw an OpenVision(seeing someone or something just as it would appear naturally.
While talking to people about their salvation these people told me that while they were praying, they opened their eyes and there before them stood Jesus. In both instances he was waving them on towards the altar during an altar call!!! One of these people was shy one was not neither person was overly impressive to me as a Christian!!! But I believe them when they said they saw a vision of Jesus.
---mima on 8/6/09

Would somebody please explain what an "open" vision is? One reason I come to these blogs is to learn.

Who's we?

I get tuned up from the workin's of the Holy Spirit... all the time. Why... just last week, God told me that all those clunkers gettin' all that cash thrown at them was just a scam cooked up by Congress to rob the poorest people--blind. Of course, I already had that pretty well figured out, on my own. He just confirmed my assumptions as fact.

So, if some anointed one has a night vision, is that considered closed? (It is difficult to see in the dark.)

BTW: I ain't never run into any anointed ones--well, indirectly, maybe a few: but, they were on a TV program lookin' for some additional bucks with which to anoint their bank accounts.
---BruceB on 8/4/09

BruceB, LOL! Too funny.

Obviously if you're not having or getting open visions, then there's no visions to get just yet and thus considered, closed visions but we don't call them that.

Haven't you ever heard testimonies of anointed people who are getting an open vision? That means that you are awake and all of a sudden the Lord takes the scales off of your eyes and reveals something to you that He wants you to see. Whether for the purpose of prayer or prophetic uterance to the Body of Christ.
---anon on 8/4/09

How often did it happen in the bible? Not very often and only to godly men who had suffered extreme things for the kingdom. I have to question people who have "visions" all the time. Even the men in the bible didn't have them frequently ie: once or twice in their lifetime. Can it happen? Of course, God can do what He wants, I just believe it to be very rare.Be careful, the devil can imitate God in this manner, physic visions etc., even be accurate, demons do have knowledge, that doesn't mean it's from God.

I take it for granted, there must be a difference between an "open" vision and a "closed" vision. But I can't quite figure out what that is. I see Cluny's havin' a problem, as well.

Please, clarify your question.
---BruceB on 8/4/09

As often as He wants to. Shouldn't your question be what requirements and adjustments do you need to make in your life in order to have God give you an open vision?

Has anyone ever asked you to cover your face because you came down the mountain from spending hours upon hours with God and your face shined so brightly, that it blinded people? I am referring to Moses.

Do you have that kind of Glory upon your life? Because it is possible. But there is a way to God through Jesus, through Worship, Repentence, through the Blood of Jesus, etc.,
---anon on 8/3/09

"Visions" serve only pride and ego. Visions no longer serve God in any way. There used to be "prophets" in the OLD testament, but no longer in the NEW testament times.

Hebrews 1 and 2
"God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by a Son".

Only The Son hung on the cross and suffered pain. God does not "speak" by using books, prophets, pastors/ministers, or "teachers".

God will communicate His will in each person's life through our conscience/mind if we are truly willing to hear His will (not the "will" of "the book", pastor, etc.).

My sheep hear MY "voice" (John 10:27, RSV).

Yes Visions are for now,God/Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Don't know what you mean by "open visions" tell me please? The visions I've had would come like a movie or TV Show running in my mind, moving pictures in what I call the eye of my spirit. I learned not to get upset, like I did a little at first, because I was helpless to stop what I saw happening,so I quickly learned God wanted me to pray for those who would be affected by the events. I have seen train wreaks,typhons/hurricanes,airplane crashes and more. Then later I would see them on TV in the news, they looked just like I saw in my mind or someone mentioned the event and say some of their family was in it which would confirm my prayers did good, some miraculous.
