Everything described in the Bible as preempting the end (with the exception of the rise of the reign of Antichrist) is happening. Those who say that there have always been earthquakes etc, need to understand that the intensity and frequency of various events has significantly increased. In addition, according to science, this planet is close to extinction. Why would any believer doubt the signs of the end times? |
|
---jody on 11/13/09 |
mima, concerning prophecies, let me suggest for a bit of clarity that if everyone's understanding of a prophecy is vague, then it must be vague. Sounds like a bit semantics.
Concerning end times, from our limited time frame, the here and now, events appear different than if we lived for a thousand years. Remember, people thought the world was flat at one time.
In the big picture, this end time concept is vague, we just don't "know."
What is important is that we are found in Christ, living in the Vine, and believers are ready for whatever may happen when it happens. |
|
---Rod4HIm on 11/12/09 |
God named the King of Babylon by name over 200 years before he was born! Cyrus.
How vague is that? |
|
---Pastor_JIm on 11/12/09 |
The prophecy stating that a virgin would be with child(made at least 500 years before Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary) would not be considered vague in any sense of the word. I do not believe God makes vague prophecies but rather that our understanding or our interpretation of the prophecies is faulty. |

Mark,
Matt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. (We have not been deluged with anti-christ actually claiming to BE Christ
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, BUT THE END IS NOT YET.
Mat Mat 24:8 All these are the BEGINNING of sorrows.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in ALL the world for a witness unto all nations, and THEN shall the end come. (The Joshua Project estimates 2 billion 750 million have still not heard the gospel). God bless. |
|
---larry on 11/11/09 |
While I agree with that in a way, I also notice how most of the prophecies of end times events are very vague and could apply to many times throughout history.
Even the abomination of desolation has occured in 170AD with Antiochus. It likely there will be more than one occurance of this because a great tribulation follows the one CHrist speaks of , but until the Antichrist shows up, we're pretty much left not knowing *exactly* when Jesus will come back. |

JackB:
I disagree.
I believe one of the major reasons that the end times is described for us is MOTIVATION.
If we really believe that Jesus is coming soon we should be working harder to be ready for His return. Making ourselves ready, getting our families ready, getting our friends saved, all because the time is SHORT.
Look at the lazy servant who did nothing while the master was away. He was cast into outer darkness. That will be the same result of people saying "Jesus is not coming, why worry about it. Dont study it, its not important" and being lazy about His return.
Do not be caught unready. |

We've been in the 'last days' since I was 8 years old.
The more people obsess about this the more they usually look completely insane. Its not something we're supposed to worry about so if you open yourself up to NEEDing to find out, youll prolly find yourself under the influence of demonic forces.
I was curious about the Dec 21,2012 'end of the world' stuff for a while. If cataclysmic events DID happen around that time it would be of perfect explanation for the Antichrist to use to keep people from believing its Gods judgement against their sins. |
|

You're right Mark Eaton.
We should not be blind, Christ and the prophets told us of signs we should be looking for. It would iresponsible if we didn't look. At the same time be decerning on what signs are real and which are not. |

Does that describe the condition of those around you? Do you see the people of the world described in these verses?
When does verse one describe it to be? Last days. |

Yes we are living in the End times, I don't believe that it is our president, in fact through concentrated bible study and the help of the Holy Spirit I believe that the anti-christ is here. He is the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, he will be the First official president of the EU, his name is Jean Claude Juncker, This is he who after suffering a fatal car accident, spent 2 weeks in a coma, this is the fatal head wound im Revelations 13. He was worte off as dead, but he recovered from his head wound quickely to the bewilderment of his doctors. He is one of the architects of the european currency the Euro. |

Pastor_Jim:
Many do not know if we are in the end times. And those who do think that we are, do not know why or how to tell if we really are.
We must look at Israel to really know.
We must look at passages in Ezekiel, Joel, Daniel, and other minor prophets where the re-gathering of Israel as a nation into their own land is fortold. The making of the two tribes into one tribe, when the land blooms and is fruitful again.
All these are clues to the season of time we are in. As the passages fortell, the last days are upon us. |
|
---Mark_Eaton on 11/10/09 |
I DON'T KNOW!
Because Paul was sure he would not die and then he began to realize Christ was not coming in his time. The same with Peter and the other Apostles who firmly believe the 2nd coming was within their life time or at the very least within their generation. But it did not happen. So these Apostles were directly connected with Jesus Christ before and after the resurrection, yet they were way off. It is humbling isn't it? So I can safely assume that neither I, nor anyone else (i.e. Tim Le Hay etc) have a clue either. But it is a nice topic to have fun with. |

Reformation would mean an abrupt change from the course we have been on for at least 50 yrs ****
50 years of what? which country? VASTLY different across different countries around the world
Gods plan does not revolve around country of America - it revolves around Israel where Christ will rule earth when HE returns
America has sunk very close to lowest common denominator in past 50 years - or do you see godliness in this wasteland? Divorce at an all time high - vile gay marriage - disobedient children? More "christian converts" as telling by Joel O and mega churches VOID of God?
Scripture describes SUDDEN destruction
Reformation as in RETURN to Holy Roman Empire as foretold in prophecy |

Mankind has been on a downward spiral since Adam and Eve. At every turn along the way our most gracious heavenly Father has instituted a new age( dispensation) and the most wonderful dispensation of all is GRACE which we live under today!!! Those who are looking for a new Reformation have their heads in the clouds and no realistic sense of time or historical position biblically speaking!! |

Anne and Rhonda--Reformation would mean an abrupt change from the course we have been on for at least 50 yrs. The number of NEW Christians is increasing rapidly in some places. But "Re-formation" means a return to a previous state. Call me a skeptic, but I would have to see some EVIDENCE to believe it is coming.
What I and others "sense" has too often been wrong. |

Chasten, Despite the WORDING of the agreement that will be signed at Copenhagen, it will take more than Obama's signature for America to give up her sovereignty. Though it's certainly a move in the wrong direction, no other nation will see the words as that significant. The NWO will come, and even though you have skillfully applied prophesy to fit the immediate future, I do not believe we are there yet. I do not think Obama is smart enough to be the Anti-Christ. Already he is wearing thin with many people. |
|

Obama is the Anti-christ! And the evironmental movement is the false prophet! They believe man controls the weather not god. Thru them the New World Order WILL BE MADE Dec. 24 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In the bible we learn that one of the beasts heads has a mortal wound on its head. This figure is the anti-chirst. On Jan. 26 2010, Obama's birth will be heard in a Cal. courtroom. He will be found not to be a natural born citizen. It will take a total of 3 1/2 yrs. to get him out. This would be a "politcal death". He will then move to europe where he will enter poltics again and survive the "mortal wound". He will be put in control of the NWO. Then we will see his true side. Cont. |

Clunny...What do you think when flood occur?God gave exact date 7 days before flood right? Gen. 7:4 When God plans to destroy Neviveh it was announced the date (after 40 days) Jonah 3:10 Was there any destruction God did not gave to his servants? Jesus mentioned no one knows bec. he don't want his followers to be bothered. The time was so far,and he want them to focus on evangelizing the world. Acts 1:6-7. When the time is near, then he will reveal and remove the zeal of the book Rev. 5:5. |

A person can get many different opinions about this.
Some say we are already in the seven-year period of tribulation. I do not believe this.
Some say we're not even close to the end of time. I do not believe that.
I believe we are moving, with greatly increasing speed towards the unveiling or revealing of the Antichrist. Antichrist will be a man and this man at some point will make a seven-year peace agreement between Israel and its surrounding Arab neighbors.
Will the church see this? I do not know but I believe that this event will usher in the beginning of the seven-year tribulation period!! At the end of which the battle of Armageddon will take place!!! |
|
---mima on 10/22/09 |
people want to believe that the end is near because they feer death ad their own personal faith is week. if you truly belive that there is life after death, and that your next waking moment will be with god then you have no need of knowin gwhen the end is. the jehovas witnesses have been saying the end is near forever, eventually they will be right. fyi there will be a one world government first, and then jesus will come down and bring the kingdom of god and destroy the kingdoms of man and rule on earth for 1000 years before the "end". so id say there is a little while to go. |

Cluny is right again, we've been in the end times since Pentecost. Humans struggle for something more specific because our time on earth is shockingly brief and thus we have a myriad of television ministries, books and careers speculating with no more accuracy than the Top 25 AP pre-season Football poll.

Anything significant will involve Israel. You'd be better off avoiding the TBN and Fox News type hype for the Jerusalem Post online. |
