I was speaking on the denomination named the Churches of Christ.

But those who follow JESUS are the invisible true member of the Church of Christ.

Romans 16:27

To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen

Eph 6:23

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Phl 4:7

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Bible writings do not match yours Lawrence.

Eph 4:4-6 ... one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling, One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.
So, if the Spirit, Lord, God and Father are all Jesus Christ, where does that leave the body, hope, faith, and baptism?
1Co 12:4-6 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
-Why does Paul say it this way if it is all covered by Jesus Christ?
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
How can Jesus be with Himself?

Yes, the Acts Church of The Living God Is The Church of Christ, which are few, Mat.7 v 14. It explains Clearly in scriptures.

I didn't have to dig in the Deep deceiving trinity pit of fictitious trinity literature in the which there No parrallel aspects with The Word of God what so ever. The trinity in Rev.17vs 4 5 6, which Are many.

Glory to God The Father which who IsJesus Christ.

The Churches of Christ were Cambilites to start with as pointed out earlier. But being Congregational they have changed with each group being independent they like Baptists do not have a set doctrine.

They tend to be clannish and sure each of their groups is right. But it all varies.

M Eaton,
absurd?, Not so.
Psa.11 v 9, Jesus to come, Isa.9 v 6 Is Jesus Christ, John 8 v 16 & 10 v 38 & 14 v's 8 - 9 Is Jesus Christ, 1st.Tim.3 v 16 Is Jesus Christ, Colo.2 v 9 Is Jesus Christ, Rev. 22 v 13 The Almighty God, Jesus Christ.
God Is omnipresent, He Is every where All at once at the same time & He does it All by Himdelf. Only One God & His name Is Jesus Christ.

Thank You Mima!!!

In the world we live in today, people will tell you that you need to purchase their CD's, DVD's, and the books they have written.

But they seldom if ever will tell people they need to take the needed time to STUDY GOD'S WORD FOR THEMSELVES.

If you would know the truth I suggest you carefully read what Rob and Pastor Jim have to say.

I was brought up in the Church of Christ. I am very thankful I have found my way out from them.

It came from doing from doing intense study of God's Word, Acts 17:11 and 2 Timothy 2:14-19.

Church of Christ (Not a name/who they think they are) is a cult that claims to be the True Church. They claim they literally started in the 1st century, but it was started in 1906 by Alexander Campbell. (Campbellites) Its very difficult to get out. If you leave their church you will burn in hell. Do not believe in salvation once, but you lose your salvation if you don't attend church (and other ways). They belive you are save by Baptism alone (a bath only), and the second coming occurred 70 AD/they are the Elect. No OT. Very dangerous/very subtle cult. If one church gets in trouble, the others disavowed any relationship.

I write this to warn others, I am an expert on them and have de-programmed many from this cult for the last 12 yrs.

"Who are the Church[es] of Christ" His body of believers.
"What do they believe in?" The righteousness of Father in Christ Jesus, imputed to those of us who will trust in and rely upon the atoning sacrifice of His Son which will redeem us.
Mark Eaton in response to your inquiries.
Who was Jesus speaking to and about in John 14:1,2,16?
To quote your specific questions "Who is the Father that Jesus keeps talking about? Who is this other Helper?
Answer. The Spirit or Divine mind, character, attributes and essence that sustained, empowered and guided Him during His sojourn on earth. Who in His fulness can not be contained, yet is manifest in His fulness in the bodily presence of Jesus.
---joseph on 11/14/09

There is only ONE church of Jesus Christ. His church does not have walls. Every person that worships God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) through Jesus Christ belongs to HIS church and they are from more than one denominations. It is a dynamic body, always growing (Isaiah 9:7), even though some drop from the body and come back (some do not).

I am performing All of these aspects, father, son & member of christianet. My name is Lawrence

John 14:16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever".

So then Lawrence, you are saying that Jesus is really all three persons in this verse. So the verse would really read:

John 14:16 "I will ask Myself, and I will give you another form of Myself, that I may be with you forever".

This makes no sense at all. It makes no sense in any form of Christianity I have ever heard of.

You are slaughtering hundreds perhaps thousands of verses in both OT and NT to make Jesus into all three persons of the Godhead. Absurd.

Church of Christ-Boston was very much accused of being a cult - years ago.

They insisted that there was no salvation apart from Baptism - in THEIR SPECIFIC CHURCH I think.

Worse still, there was a huge expose on corruption by one of the 60 minutes or 20-20 news programs. There were elders in the church that were hearing confessed sins from church members and then extorting money from them. Like, a man confessed adultery to a church elder who then demanded a $20K payment in order not to "tell" his wife about it--lots of stuff like that went on and was proven.

Here's a similarity. I am a father to my 2 daughters(title) & my name is Lawrence, I am a son to my parents(title) & my name is Lawrence, I am a member of christianet(title) again my name is Lawrence. I am performing All of these aspects, father, son & member of christianet. My name is Lawrence.
Father, Son & Holy Ghost. 1st Tim 3 v 16. God(Jesus Christ) & He Alone is performing All of these aspects, (just like I am in the above paragraph) & again Jesus Christ Is His Name. He has ALl power to do so. Deu. 6 v 4.
---Lawrence on 9/16/09

Only 1 God & Jesus Christ Is His Name.
---Lawrence on 9/16/09

So when Jesus says:

John 14:1 "Do not let your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me"

He really means:

"Do not let your heart be troubled, believe in Me, believe also in Me"?

What about the next verse?

John 14:2 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places, if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you".

Who is the Father that Jesus keeps talking about?

What about verse 16:

John 14:16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever".

Who is this other Helper?
---Mark_Eaton on 9/16/09

Mark Eaton
John 14 v 9 just 1 God, John 20 v 28, just 1 God, 1st Tim 3 v 16 again just 1, Only 1 God & Jesus Christ Is His Name.

Some trin-churches believe in 2-3 god's & or persons in a god-head. This is where the light came from for such, 2nd Cori. 11 v's 14-15.

Not of God's Kingdom.
---Lawrence on 9/14/09

Please help me understand what you are saying.

Are you saying that Jesus is not God?

Are you saying that the Holy Spirit is not God?

Do you realize that God is a title and not a name?

Unless I missed something here, all three, the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are ALL God.

However you want to describe that, that is the truth of Scripture.
---Mark_Eaton on 9/15/09

lLke all the christian denominations they are all lead astray by false doctrine including the "church of chritian" who thinks that just because they call themselves the church of christ that they are the TRUE CHURCH. They, like all the churches of today, have a do-it-yourself salvation even thogh they don't think so. Do not stumble at that stumbling block.
---metuschelah on 9/15/09

---mugwump is correct. But I would like to put a more strength in his statements. They equally baptism and salvation. You must be baptized to be saved they believe. In this they are no different from the Catholic and the Lutheran churches and other churches as well.
Close communion is practiced and generally speaking if you're a nonmember some of the congregation has to have knowledge of your belonging to another church of Christ.
On the street witnessing I encounter church of Christ people many times. And they always say, no one can get saved here because you have no baptismal to baptized them in after the maker profession of faith.
---mima on 9/15/09

I've been to one Church of Christ. No instruments in the music.

Such good people, but they are confused like the other trin-churches. An offspring from r-catholocism like the rest of the trin-churches. I read that they believe in 2-3 god-head persons. Some trin-churches believe in 2-3 god's & or persons in a god-head. This is where the light came from for such, 2nd Cori. 11 v's 14-15.

Not of God's Kingdom.

The Churches of Christ are an Evangelical group that generally emphasizes baptism as necessary for salvation and has closed communion.
