God's Salvation Plan according to Mark 16 v 16, Acts 2 v's 37-41 which Fulfills Matt 28 v's 19-20, Gal 1 v's 8-9, & you have to live it to keep your self from being put in the flames of hell. You canNot have 1 foot in God's Salvation & the foot in the god of this world(satan with his worldly pleasures glitter & glamor etc). You canNot serve 2 masters. God Is strict.

The pastor of a church I used to attend often used that exact phrase to refer to a person who has, I guess, 'faith enough' to escape hell yet isn't striving with his utmost to serve Christ. The concept of 'fire insurance' might be what Paul speaks about in 1 Corinthians 3 when he wrote, "But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone's work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value...But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames" (vv 12-15).

I have sometimes wondered why the Apostle Paul never once used the threat of hell or the fear of hell as an evangelism tool in his writings.

Such unique answers, because each of us is so unique (o: Well, I realize I can sin, though I would not ever want to turn on Jesus and betray Him or cheat on Him our Groom by having a relationship with worry or immoral stuff or unforgiveness, etc. But Peter *boasted* he would go with Jesus "to prison and to death" (Luke 22:33), but instead he denied Jesus three times. But, even before Peter so failed Jesus, Jesus had prayed for him to get back to Jesus (Luke 22:31-32). So, in case I get myself burned, I'd now trust Jesus to cover for me, then correct me to do better, like He did with Peter. And do this for others, myself (Galatians 6:1).

---alan8566_of_uk your answer is clearly stated. And I believe the correct meaning of "fire insurance" salvation.

I think it is salvation that is sought for the main purpose of escaping hell.

Salvation on this basis, must be sought over and over again, since it is lost any time you sin.If you should die with unconfessed sin in your life, you will certainly go to hell.

You must work hard at "holiness" until you are sinless. Obey the Old Testament laws, always be loving, giving and forgiving as Jesus requires.
Never smoke, don't let alcohol touch your lips, stay away from "worldly" entertainment AND people you know who live sinful lives!

Remember, it is your duty, to tell whoever you see sinning, that they had better REPENT because they are sinners, God HATES sin, and if they don't repent they will go to hell.

having a personal conception that faith,or believing will save you from eternal fire may be a reason many profess they are born again, but to live the true life as a follower personal is not a word that should descibe your attitude.Works should manifest themselves,or should I say fruits. Also everyone who knows you should see a change in you.

I've never heard the term before, but being an insurance professional, I have a slightly different take on it.

You don't think you will have fire, but you get a policy to be safe. You buy a fire insurance policy in case you have a fire (or one of the other covered perils)

I think "fire insurance salvation" may refer to becoming a Christian just in case there is a God & life after death & judgement. You don't really beleive it, but join up, just to be safe

Except for being a needlessly vulgar expression for Christianity, I don't know what you're talking about, mima.

And if something truly exists (or does not exist), neither your nor my opinion about it will change that fact.

NO, there is nothing called "fire insurance" salvation, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

I've had a personal relationship with Jesus for 23 years and I can tell you there is nothing at all except plain old SALVATION (OUR ultimate goal is ETERNAL LIFE and a "more excellent" devotion", 1 Corinthians 12:31).

EVERYONE on earth has salvation AVAILABLE to them...

Luke 3:6
"all flesh shall see the salvation of God".

Your "pastor"/minister is a "used car salesman" moneychanging scam artist trying to get everyone worked up so he can steal money from all those who love God.

"Fire Insurance" is a silly way of saying that if you get saved, you won't burn in hell forever. It's the crudest form of evangelism.
