Thanks for prayers for my husband to anyone who prayed. He didn't go to the doctor but the swelling was already leaving by 8 PM last night and the color was no longer black but purple. By the time I looked at it again at about 10 PM all purple was gone and the color was almost back to normal. Praise the Lord he moved quickly on this. God Bless

Please pray for my husband. He was bitten by something this morning, possible spider,on the thumb and it already is turning black. The clinic I talked to ask the doctor about it and he said if he doesn't get to an emergency room his finger will fall off, since its already turning black. Please pray he doesn't die,we have Brown Recluse spiders in Texas which has killed people and pray also he doesn't lose his thumb or worse yet,his hand. Thanks

A blessed Yom Kippur to all who might be observing the holy day.

Trish I am praying for you. May this time of year become easier for you through the love of God. I know you will be great with the youth God Bless and use you greatly. I have always loved teenagers, may God give you wisdom as God uses you in this ministry.

Tommy ... We have to have a licence to watch TV. It costs about 140 a year.

The assumption by the collection authorities is that every household has a TV, and that means that every address that does not hold a licence is hassled and hounded and threatened with prosecution.

If you tell them you have no TV you are not believed, and the prosecution threats continue. The only to to hold them off is to let them inspect the house and prove to them the absence of a TV.

Even that in some cases does not stop the harrassment, for they assume you have just removed the TV for the day ofr the visit, so they will come back unexpectedly for another inspection

I appreciate all the love and support here. I am struggling with some personal issues, including memories of deaths and traumas that all occurred in Autumn throughout my life. I would appreciate prayer as I journey through this season, and stay grounded in the Word.

I intend to try working with our youth group at church in a few weeks. I am looking forward to ministering to the young ladies in our church.

alan, what's a TV licence? Better yet, what's a TV?(lol) You have to have a licence to have a TV? My wife and I have been without a TV since about 1998. Don't miss it at all.

alanofuk, Up until a couple of years ago, here in Florida, you could get a free fishing/hunting license for life at age 53 I think. They changed that when I turned 52, imagine that. I praise God for how He has preserved my life and health in general. My parents both had high blood pressure and my dad was diabetic and had been on medication for both about 10 years by the time he was my current age, then died at 62. God is so good all the time.

Darlene and Tommy, my gratitude and thanks for your prayers and concern for my wife. And she relays hers too. Alan, I turned 65 this year. The biggest benefit is that I can now ride the train and bus for half price. And thanks to whoever gave me votes here on Christianet. They were unexpected.

Mugwump I'm so very glad your wife is feeling better. It always hurts us for our loved ones when they aren't feeling well.
Tommy3007, A belated Happy Birthday and I hope God's blessings on you for the coming year. Getting old isn't bad but realizing you can't do what you used to because of the ailments which come with old age,is awful. The discount doesn't help that a bit.
Please pray for my greatgranddaughter, she is at her paternal grandparents house and the grandmother called to say she has the Swine Flu they wanted to bring her home. She doesn't she and her little brother, who has the sniffles too, pray for him,had the Swine Flu Mist at school. It could be a little side effect from it though.

Tommy .... Senior Citizen's discounts don't make you old!

We don't get them here until age 65, and I've had mine for a few years now.

But as far as I am concerned, middle age is next year

Tommy, thanks. My wife is okay now.

Well, for September waht's up, I am now officially "getting OLD!" I turned 55 on the 16th and am now able to get "Senior Citizen" discounts, isn't that wonderful?(lol) Thanks to everyone who looked on the "Birthdays today" section of the CN members and sent me notes and cards. God bless to everyone here, and mugwump, I too will pray for your wife's speedy recovery.

I took a pregnancy test last Monday and the results were two dark pink lines---a positive. I am pretty excited especially since we have tried before and had finally decided to just let it go and let it be in God's time. the next step is to get the confirmation from the doctor---whatever happens it is in God's hands.

Trish, My greatgrandson is learning,he had a good week most of this week. Prayers worked,of course. I am praying for you. It sounds like at least you will have a breather from more troublesome students some of the time. I know how hard it is to see and a lot of times to reach children, who have been abused and suffer for the sins of others, who abused them. Years ago I was a Sub and had to deal with some of those wounded children. It's really sad. I know you are good with them. Mugwump, Praying for your wife, hope she is well soon, and I pray about the fires in California every time they start. Praise the Lord Mom saw Heartspecialist yesterday and got a good report.

School started last week, and my classes are very interesting. I have two terrific groups of kids who are semi-normal, for seventh grade. Then, I have two groups that have some kids with serious issues at home. One involves child abuse, one's mother committed suicide, and one has a parent who is an alcoholic. Please pray for me and them, as I minister love and caring to them while setting appropriate boundaries.

Thanks to God that the big fire here in Los Angeles County is almost out. Please pray for my wife who is ill. Thanks.
