how many read christian literature?
It is the childhood fairy tales and the television soaps that portray marriage in an unusual way...
And we all seem to prefer the fairy tales to reality

1) Because some Christian literature displays marriage as perfect, and when they find out that it is not so perfect and flowerdy, they leave.
2) Because they both judge each other too sharply.

David, I believe the reason is, they are not grounded on the faith. When two people are grounded in the faith, they will struggle but they will obey God's advice. They will forgive each other, they will not allow for darkness to come without making sure they have humbled or forgiven each other.

people, all people have a naTURAL tendency to see themselves as the victim, and people have their wants and desires and expectations too high.

Mistakes happen. Christians are people, too.Sometimes we miss God.We think God has sent this person to us to marry and we are wrong. Everyone that say they are Christians, are not. Also: sometimes Christians are on different levels in their faith. One may want the relationship to work and the other does not. Separation may be the only solution. This is a loaded questions and has many answers.

Becauseit is easier to walk out than work it out.

Adultery is not grounds for divorce, only fornication is grounds according to Jesus. Matt 19:9 No regardless of what many preach fornication and adultery are not the same, Gal 5:19. The scripture were written by guidance of the Holy Spirit. Unless man was confused by the Spirit they are not the same, because both are mentions, Adultery and right next to it fornication in the same verse one after the other, showing there is a difference. Believe what is written over what is preached.

usually its because one or both have disobeyed Gods word. The only reason is adultery, and dessertion,of course ir you live with a abuser though that may not be grounds bibically, separation is not only an option, its the smart thing to do.

Because they made the simple-mistake of choosing spouses out of God's plan. God is the best match-maker. There are so many differences that we may not see even during courtships but after marriage these will expand to break the marriage(as God will not force Himself on the couple(s)).

The question is flawed. Loads of people identify themselves as "christians". Very few of them are actual followers of Christ.

Because they have fallen for the silly Protestant idea that the secular courts have the power to dissolve spiritual bond created by marriage.
