Post a New Blog

Alan, yes thanks,I knew I had done it wrong as soon as I had sent it. I did find the new one,I wasn't looking in the right place. Indigo is such a doll, and its so much fun to watch all of her actions. Isn't it amazing what little it takes to make a baby happy and how fast they can get into something. I just adore little ones.
---Darlene_1 on 11/2/09

Hi Darlene ... I had not set it up when yuo suggested it on the October one.

But we have to set it up opurselves as a new blog, not just ask the moderators to do it!

My grandaughter Indigo is crawling backwards now ... won't be long before she goes forward. So I have made a stair safety gatye, and bought fireguards.

She likes it when people whistle! It can turn a grumpy face into a laughing face!

Darlene ... I have posted a new blog for Whats up in November
---alan8566_of_uk on 11/2/09

"November Whats Up" Please start it. This is what was up for me.The effect of Daylight Savings time Fall Back reared up this morning when I awakened at 9:30 AM and thought oh good I slept late, then it hit me NO,its fall back time today and I didn't do it. I corected the time,of course, and reluctantly got up.

Thank you very much Darlene_1
Yesterday we had an ultrsound and everything is fine. That is always a relief. I am 16 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I found out during the ultrsound that our baby is 6 oz--healthy weight for how far along I am.

I am praying for God's protecion for the baby. This is a very anxious time for me, being my first child+we began to think we would never have children.
---Kella8334 on 10/31/09

Patie3447 It sounds like you are doing a wonderful work in helping people read. I am an avid reader and it is sad to think some can't read. A member of my family was reading diabled so I know how it can hurt people and make life harder not to be able to read. Keep up the good.
---Darlene_1 on 10/31/09

Hi, thank you Darlene :) I was kind of panicked this morning when I discovered a little bleeding 3 days after surgery but my fiancee assured me that was normal and okay so I feel much better now. :) Looking forward to going to church and celebrating the blessing with many people I love :) Hope you have a great day today :)

Mary, thats just great,I'm happy for you. My dear friend and prayer partner has the implants or whatever they are called in her ears and she can hear well now. It will be like a new world for you. Praise the Lord for the wonders he has given to his people through medicine and doctors. God Bless You
---Darlene_1 on 10/29/09

Hi, hallelujah I just had the BAHA implant surgery done yesterday! In about 3 months I'll be able to hear better than I've ever heard in my life, I am sooo excited and sooo happy the surgery is over with! Praising God today!
---Mary on 10/29/09

Kella8334,I know you are so excited about your baby. That is just wonderful. I hope and will pray that God keeps his hand over you and the baby. Take good care of yourself. God Bless

I think many people would be amazed at the compassion of many people in the medical profession. They won't, don't and can't blow their own horns.

Drug research is terribly expensive and most drug research is done privately by US companies, because few other countries can afford it. I think any of the suggested health care plans awaiting approval will quite likely squelch research, but maybe that's a sacrifice we have to make.
---Donna66 on 10/27/09

I went to the doctor today and heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time. I am so amazed. My husband and I did not think I could ever get pregnant. Praise God!
---Kella8334 on 10/27/09

Alan, that is smart of you. They can't fuss with their mouth full. Since our biscuits are flour, oil, baking powder, salt, and milk at first thats what I thought you were making, then I remembered your biscuits are the sweetened dough which we call cookies in USA. My husband made Penutbutter cookies over the weekend,he's the cook here.I will be praying for the people involved who can't get along. Thought maybe they had worked things out by now. Please pray for me I am using cream doctor ordered to remove Sun damage on my skin, which is fair. It has caused bad condition on my lip which hurts even with pain medication. I'm calling doctor today for directions. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 10/27/09

I have spent this evening making biscuits. They are similar to ANZAC biscuits (Warwick may know of these) but my version is known as Missionary Biscuit, and does not have the coconut.

Theya re really very nice, especially with a touch of ginger in them/

I have made them because I am secretary of local club, and we have two very difficult committee members, who have almost casued another member to have a nervous breakdown. At the first sign of trouble at our committee meeting tomorrow, I will stop proceedings and bring in the biscuits!

Donna, praise God Donna. God is good and God is always good. I think one of the major problems in our health care systems is greed, whenever a care provider puts money ahead of care then there will be neglect and failure to care for those in need. Stoney hearts with no compassion. This sin is also growing in the churches where so-called ministers require money ahead of a person's soul.
---Eloy on 10/25/09

Rebecca D remember the Bible says God won't put on us more than we can bear. With all the things I've experienced I have to say God sees me as a very strong person, translated to Texas meaning,I'm a tuff ole coot,if not in body in mind and Spirit. I always know what God allows me to go into he will bring me out of for he never leaves me to carry anything alone. One thing I try always to remember and praise God for,is I have so much more which are blessings than I do troubles. I will be praying for you a quick recovery. Hang in there with the left hand we'll figure it out. I have something I always pray when I have to do more than I'm really able to,"God give me strength for the task" and he always does. God Bless

Trish you will be sorely missed on here by me and I know some of the others. I am still praying for your needs and will continue to do so. I hope all you need in life will be met. God Bless You and Yours. My daughters tooth they did the root canal on is still a bit bothersome but better. My Grandson is healing nicely where they pulled a tooth for him. There is nothing like prayers of Saints and the move of our Lord God to make ones faith grow stronger. We are so blessed to have caring people who pray for our loved ones. Trish thank you for always responding to mine and my families needs.

Eloy -- One problem with the medical system in the UK and Canada, is that many of the best drugs and treatments are not available there... they are too expensive. The breast cancer survival rate in the UK is about 25% less than the USA. (I'm a breast cancer surviver, myself) One of the drugs I received has increased the survival rate of a certain type of cancer by 50% in the US. But it's not offered in the UK. I had no insurance, couldn't qualify for gov.aid, but the drug Co. gave it to me for free. ( I took it as a gift from God) I'm five years cancer free now.
---Donna on 10/24/09

Once again, the What's Up Blog? has become a political argument blog. Instead of being a place of support and comfort where a believer can go to for prayer and encouragement, it has become a source of bitterness, and strife.

I must say, that I have pretty much given up on Christianet. With the exception of a few rational, spiritually minded friends, I have only seen contentiousness. The pity is that the friends I have, as well as myself, have been called names and treated poorly by the contentious ones.

I hope to keep in touch with the friends, but do not care to hear from the contentious ones.

God bless. I will drop in from time to time.

And in any case, who are you talking baout when you refer to a "muslim socialist"?

Spot-lightness more correct, I'd rather tell a truth than wash or clean a pig's image up. Easier than calling Evil good, or Good Evil.

If a light shines can a blind man see it? No.
Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

A-men Alan. I also feel the way you do. Alan, I don't think you are prejudice. We should pray God will help our leaders. Papa Jesus, please help the leaders of both America and of England. The foregoers have made poor decisions and lost much money causing great woes for the peoples across the land. Papa Jesus, please give them your perfect wisdom to make the best choices to restore our lands, and turn the hard hearts of the peoples to begin loving each other as you have commanded us to do. In your most holy name Jesus, we pray. A-men.

Eloy ... I hope you don't think I am prejudiced.

Actully I am prejudiced ... against those who utter all sorts of false accusations against Obama.

He was elected by a substantial majority, with no need for any local vote rigging.

He has huge problems to deal with, and he needs the support of his countrymen. Those probelems were caused before he can into office, and the solutions will cause pain ... as we in the UK will suffer pain as we deal with the same problems, whatever party has power.

Some of his ideas will go against the political instincts and selfish desires of a lot of people, but there are things that need to be sorted out.

Obama's not perfect, but appears to be a man of good-will.

Trav, you speak darkness, for out of the mouth the heart speaks. The ballots were counted, and whether you support the President, or not, the President Barak Obama was rightly elected by the informed and intelligent people of America. Therefore discontinue your wrongful dissing of your fellow Americans and the President of the United States of America whom is rightly voted and rightly honored in the position as the best candidate elected for the country.
---Eloy on 10/23/09

AlanOfUk, There are good, and there are bad: not all are bad, and not all are good: this is why Jesus created a heaven for the good, and a hell for the bad. Unfortunately, many Americans are still sinfully bigotted and prejudiced against black people, and therefore will be judged for their sin: even as Miriam was judged by God and struck with leprosy, for her dislike and misjudgment of her brother Moses' wife because she was a black Ethiopian. When will people ever learn that no matter what color the skin, red or yellow or black or white, all persons deserve equal respect. Love one another, and know you all not that God will throw you into eternal damnation and the torments in the lake of hell fire for your prejudice?
---Eloy on 10/23/09

Trav ... No-one is good. Obama is probably personally no worse than any of the others

And no American President (or any British Prime Minister) has been voted for by 100% of the population.

Obama does seem to have been validly elected by the whole US population, (that is if you accept the constituanal method of electing a president)

His majority (as reported to us in the UK) was considerable, certainly much more than that of his predecessor.
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/22/09

The Good President Barack Obama was rightly elected by the American people.
---Eloy on 10/21/09

Two errors here. One, he is not good. Admit on a Christian blog you like him because of the family tree.
Two he was not elected by ALL the American People. Just the blind....unchristian, liberal driven parts. He did not get 100% vote. And probably could not raise enough big lies to get re-elected today. His medical bill does support abortion...so do you if he is your messiah president,as well as alternative marriages, lifestyles, life partners whatever you prefer to tickle the ear.

Thank you very much Karen_D
The insurance went through and I have my first appointment a week from this Tuesday. Thankfully they do not consider pregnancy as pre-existing.

Trish,I know it. It is a hard choice when you are barely getting by and if you miss a day of work then one falls behind but if you're sick you can't work. That is one reason you find so many people in the Emergencyroom. They are using it for Clinic type of service. It is a big problem here.
We do have service for low income at two of the hospitals. Low income are sent to the Social Worker. I know you are a hard worker. I wish I could work even as a Sub,at $70.00 a day it would help. I hope you can get your teeth fixed soon,I feel for you. I still don't know how I will pay for mine either. Doctors keep asking me when I'm going to pull these teeth and I keep saying I don't know. Ha ha maybe thats the answer me pull them myself. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 10/19/09

Darlene, We have similar clinics in Philadelphia, but the big problem is that if you are working at a day job, and have no insurance, and get sick, you must take a day off from work, without pay, to be seen at the clinic, and then if you need a specialist the wait is long and then another day off without pay. Then, if you have kids, it starts all over, and so on.

I have been at both ends of the insurance spectrum, and I just pray for those who are caught where I once was. I did not qualify for Medical Assistance, and I had no insurance but I had two jobs to pay the bills.
---Trish9863 on 10/18/09

Alan, how true. There is no government regulation to prevent Doctor's and hospitals from charging outrageous prices for treatment. I remember when I worked in the hospital 20 to 25 years ago, that the cost to occupy a hospital bed was about $400 per day, but now depending on which hospital you are a patient in, it can be- get this figure- Over $8,000 per day- Not $800., but over $8,000.00 a day. This cost for healthcare is unreasonable, and many Americans cannot afford this kind of care, and so go without. America really needs a solution to this dilemma. I think your country's, and that of Canada's, system seems to be better.

I know what I am going to share isn't true for all of America. Health care in Central Texas is helped by the County, when my children were little I couldn't afford shots for them,I took them for free shots at the County Health Department. The County HD also gave $5.00 Flu shots for those who couldn't afford the higher prices at Clinics,I used those a few times. Just once I went to the free clinic here, yes it's demeaning to go there, but they do help you. It's a matter of first come first served and lots are too proud to be seen in line waiting outside for them to open. We also have a Hospital which doesn't turn people away. They let you pay it out or if you qualify it is free. For the free, they say there is an insurance which pays it.
---Darlene_1 on 10/18/09

Eloy ... Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, our health system is not perfect, and sometimes treatment (particularly surgery, but sometimes consultation) is not immediately available, and maybe the result is fatal.

But mostly, critical situations receive quick attention.

Now, what would the situation be if each patient had to pay for the care ... the poorest, but maybe the sickest, would remain at the end of the list.

On another blog someone suggested that those who can't afford the treatment can always find the money ... from friends and relatives ... but the poorest don't have rich friends!
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/17/09

Alan, I have heard of health care like your's and in Canada where everyone receives the same care, especially the poor who cannot afford it and have no medical insurance. And that the government just takes it out of the yearly taxes to pay the doctors. It sounds good, but is it true that you can be put on a waiting list, for say heart surgery, and before the patient receives the needful surgery they die of heart failure because the wait list was too long and the patient died before they could get the medical care? If this is not true, then I think our government should adopt the same type of health coverage as England and Canada has, where all can get the medical help needed without having to pay outrages skyrocketed costs.

All who prayed for my daughter and Grandson, thank you so very much. The Grandson had his tooth taken out and he was much better too. The dentist that did a root canal on Debbie couldn't go all the way to end of nerves because the roots are in the sinus, but he put medication that would slowly kill the rest of the nerve without hurting the sinus. Please pray for me. I'm going to the Dermatologist today to have Sun damage on my fair skin frozen off. This also includes lower lip,my friend had hers done and the lip being so sensetive really hurt her badly. I am now a little apprehensive about doing it but must go with it ahead.

In the UK dental treatemtn is available on the National Health Service. Although a contribition has to be made to the cost, there is no one who would be left in the situation that Trish is in, with essential work not done because the patient can't afford it.

Our State National Health Service is far from perfect, but at least ALL can have treatment.

I'm sorry if that offends a few here!
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/16/09

Trish9863 Oh my goodness I don't know how you can work and suffer like exposed nerves hurt. I surely will pray for you about the teeth and the move. It is a shame insurance doesn't cover dental work better. I know Medicare won't pay for any dental work and our teeth's health is a direct impact on the rest of a persons health. By the time I pay for Medicare insurance, supplemental health insurance and prescription insurance plus co-pays there isn't money for Dental Insurance.
Debbie is better today, they did a root canal on her. The terrible pain she had was probably because the roots of that tooth go all the way into the sinus cavity.

Welcome back Rebecca. I missed you, and was concerned. I am so sorry that you are still struggling with the kidney issues. Hang in there.

Darlene, as long as we are praying for teeth, I could use some prayer in that department. I need some dental work, and my insurance does not cover enough of the costs involved. I cannot afford the co-pay at this time, and have broken teeth with nerves exposed right now.

I could also use prayer as I need to find a cheaper place to live at this time. I have asked my sister to consider allowing me to rent a room from her, as she lives alone, in the four bedroom house we grew up in. Please pray for this decision, as she is thinking about it.

Alan, it was just a few months ago. I had it on my old computer, and I recently purchased a new one because my old computer was running slow, and I did not want to lose all my work. So I was in the process of transferring all my scriptures onto the new computer, but the burglars took both of them, and they took my other electronics also. I was devestated, and I understand full well why God destroys all flesh over this entire world for their wickedness. My God will soon loose his full firey wrath upon this wicked world, and I tell you of a truth that his eye will not spare nor will his heart pity any of their cries in that day. Even as they stand upon their feet they will burn and their eyes will consume away within their sockets.

I have a good report. Our Greatgrandson is ok. They said he took the virus on top of the cold and he probably had a gas pocket which caused the pain when stomach was mashed. When they mashed around on his whole stomach,he didn't say a word or flinch. I want to thank everyone that prayed,God answered and I Praise God so much for taking care of our special little boy. Moderators thanks not only for your prayers but for getting the request on Christianet so quickly. It means so much to know the Christianet family cares. God Bless

Urgent: Prayer Request. Sunday 5:36 PM Central Daylight time. Our Greatgrandson was sick week before last with a cold, then this last week he came home about Wednesday or Thusday with fever, vomiting. The vomiting stopped but the fever is still with him ranging from 99.6 to 104.6,his mother felt of his stomach today and he cringed when she touched below navel. He is on his way to Emergency Room, plrase pray the little guy, just turned age 4 last of August, doen't need surgery or doesn't have a serious condition and his apendex hasn't burst or turned bad. There is power in prayer and the prayer of faith will heal the sick and God will raise him up. Thanks

Praise the Lord, my finances are not frozen, yet.

Also, I am looking forward to a nice day with my family at a Special Olympics soccer tournament for my nephew on Sunday. His Mom is at our church's women's retreat. He is such a great kid, and he misses his father terribly, since my brother went home to be with the Lord last year.

I know the bank you are talking about Trish, Their telephone access is still down. Long lines here in NYC, I have to go to the bank directly to do any kind of transaction.I pray that by Monday all is back to normal in Jesus name.

Darlene, thank God He came through for you

Darlene, that must have been very disconcerting for sure. I had a weird day. I broke my tooth, and could not reach my dentist on the phone at lunch. Finally reached him. He can't see me till Monday, but ordered a prescription to get me through till then. Every breath I take, sip I take, or bite I take hits a nerve and I just cry.

Also, my bank is having serious issues with computer and a lot of customers are having problems accessing their money. I am praying not to have my money frozen. So far, so good.

Fall is beautiful! I love the spectular colors and the chill. However, today at work someone came into my classroom during a firedrill and stole my wallet. It contained all my IDs, my pay stubs that has all pers'l info. money, metrocard for the train and bus, my children pictures, bank card, credit card. The money is not important. I feel violated! Pls. pray that who ever took it return it on Monday. God Bless, thanks

Alan yes it was worrying. Yes its a lot easier to pay bills that way,we do part of them. FN is fine, thanks for asking. I know it had to be God answering the prayers which healed his black thumb. We never did understand exactly what caused it,there was one spot on it that looked like a bite. Please pray for Greatgrandson he was sick all last week with cold and came home from school sick yesterday and with a fever, which rose to 104.6 last night. Pray for Ggranddaughter too that she doesn't catch it,she is suppose to get to cheer with her cheerleading class before the football game tonight. Its a big deal for a 7 year old. Thanks for all the prayers again. God Bless

Darlene that must have been worrying.

I pay my utility bills by Direct Debit, so there is no risk of them being unpaid.

How is FN now?

Yesterday at 10:30 my lights went out in my house. Called my husband ,ask if he had paid our Bill,I saw him getting other Bills paid. Light Bill had gotten hidden under another letter and missed. He paid the Bill by Telephone. The lights were going to be on by Midnight. Ice cream in freezer was starting to melt and we have 3 Deep Freezes with Deer Meat, which belonged to our family,4 households. About 5:20PM I remembered the verse Romans 4:17-(God) calleth those things which be not as though they were. I began to use my needs & pray that verse over and over ending in Jesus Name dear God,I said "My lights will be on by 6 oclock or sooner in Jesus name dear God". At 5:40 my lights were turned back on. Glory to God !!!
