A Christian is someone who speads the message of Gods love,

... how our Creator came in the flesh to rescue His own creation by shedding His precious blood as a ransom for its sin.

GOD deserves ALL the honor, praise and glory for HIS salvation and any man who seeks to steal Christs glory by claiming his own righteousness by "obedience to the law or good works" will die without Gods mercy.

Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace.

Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

I am a Christian
---steven-rem7000 on 10/14/09

Nana~ I think ChristiaNet brings me down spiritually at times, and I find it to be sad especially when I read the posts of those that turn the word of God into some sort of disgrace. (I'm sure you know very well the ones I am speaking of.) I may come on here on occasion though especially because I get to missing common sense people like you, Eloy, Miche, Exzucuh etc. It makes me realize God does have some sound, wise soldiers out there still. Actually I do email Miche and Exzucuh and I should email you too some time. Yes, I definitely plan to continue strong in the Lord, and fight for Him with all my might. I am thankful for your friendship and kindness and God bless you.

Anyone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, and accepts him as Lord and Savior.
---larry on 10/12/09

Hi Anne,
Glad to hear from you once more. I missed 'seeing' you around here, whereas for me, I somewhat have slowed down in the posting department. Will look up PW and let you know how am moved to think. Thank you for keeping the friendship, as I keep you as a friend in the Lord, even when you have not posted, I will always trust that you have and will CONTINUE in the Lord.

"Who is a Christian?"

One who is 'willing' -desires, accepts, consents, and yields to the empowerment and teachings of Christ-, and is 'obedient' -listens attentively with acquiescence, agreeing or consenting to those teachings without objection-, while yielding oneself in to the compliance of love without dissimulating pretense.
---Josef on 10/11/09

Nana~ Nice answers! I have missed you and have thought of you much and hope you are well. Actually, there are a lot of good answers here, but you hit the 2nd part of the gospel that is most often neglected, and that is that we must CONTINUE in the Lord.

I have been so busy on a project and have been unable to come on ConfusioNet...oops, I mean ChristiaNet, hehe.

Have you heard of the minister Paul Washer? (Google him to listen to his sermons) Tell me what you think of him...he's quite a good minister.

Take care good friend in the Lord.

Genuine Christians are true followers of Christ who have been reborn of the Spirit and have repented to God with a contrite heart and have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ works on the cross and His resurrection.
Regeneration or Rebirth is the work of the Holy Spirit upon those who are spiritually dead (Eph. 2:1-10). The Spirit recreates the human heart, quickening it from spiritual death to spiritual life. Regenerate people are new creations. Where formerly they had no disposition, inclination, or desire for the things of God, now they are dispose and inclined toward God. God plants a desire for Himself in the human heart.

A true Christian is one who has not only accepted Jesus as their Saviour-but find that they have this overwhelming desire to be more His every day. All of us come to Him with all kinds of "hang-ups". And with those who smoke-this "hang-up" is more visible then say an eatting disorder-which makes those who believe and smoke a "target" for those who believe and don't smoke. We are "shunned" by the rest of the so called Christians-I am finding that before God helps us be rid of any habits-our belief system needs to change first-wounds on one's spirit have to heal before one can be free of such habits as smoking or overeatting.

Anyone who who comes to the lord HE wont turn away. All we need to do is say Jesus Christ save me. Mean it and believe it. HE will then take you from darkness into the light. (HE will give you repentance)
The new birth is a wonderous thing. The old man has died. We now live in newness of life.

I am enjoying reading the confirmations of what a commitment to Christ is. All appear to be saying very similar things in different ways.

Anyone reading this blog should have a good understanding of what it means to come to Christ.

This should be a very easy question to answer, but in this day and time, it may be easier to answer who is NOT a Christian.

In simpliest terms, a christian is a person who has called on the name of the Lord, confessed their sins before God, accepted the free gift of salvation from God, has heard the words and commandments of Jesus, and has determined to follow Him by obedience to His words.

The born-again from Christ: The soul who repents surrendering up to Christ the Lord and receives him into their heart and into their life to be their Savior from sin, and worships and obeys his commandments daily.

Great description of the Christian life Bill bila.

Believers can have the same response as non-believers thinking that they still have to be good enough for the Lord your God.

The believer needs to accept God's total forgiveness and live within the love of God, because the price has been paid through Jesus Christ.

If being accepted to God were through works, nobody would be good enough. Believers should be living in Christ unto good works, but works won't save, they are expected of the believer.

---Donna66 over and over while witnessing I hear people say, I'm doing the very best I can, or, I'm not too bad a person, and they say this as if it qualifies them for heaven. But of course it does not. The very best a human being can possibly do falls short of qualifying for heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ and he alone has qualified every believer to enter heaven.
I believe it is a trick of Satan to get people to believe their behavior can qualify them for heaven.
Behavior is very important, but not for salvation, but for rewards to be given in heaven.
Some will rule over five cities and some will rule over 10 cities.

Mima -- You are so right! Some people see only the scriptures that deal with judgement, not the ones that deal with mercy. They must feel that they themselves require no mercy. They deserve Heaven because of the own rightousness.

But what is the true sinner to do, who thinks God hates him? Why should he feel he can approach a God who is ONLY interested in exacting judgement? A sinner knows that he is flawed at the core. Why should he hope of EVER having a place in God's Kingdom?

Policeman?
Matthew 24:42-44: "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."

Wooing?
Mark 4:23-25: "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath."

When I read this statement,"God Is Strict.
by---Lawrence on 10/4/09" I was reminded that many people see God as a policeman trying to catch them in their sins.
But folks that cannot be the case. God through the sacrifice of his son the Lord Jesus Christ has taken sin out of the way, and today God is very faithfully wooing
those who are lost.

But a Christian is not by oneself, as an individual on one's own, but we are "members of one another" > Romans 12:5. We are intimate with each other, more than parts of a human body are joined to one another . . . dependent on each other and needing each other . . . the way God has this working more than parts of a human body depending on each other. The love blood of the Holy Spirit flows through us to each other. So, we can not get right in real love, without each other > "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)
---Bill_bila5659 on 10/5/09

Any person who does not have the living God living in them is not a true Christian no matter what they claim to be.
