Is God Really There
I was, am, a christian I think. At least, I've asked Him into my heart, but it was years ago and I was a kid. In the last months, I've started questioning God actually being there. Please help me.

Do not get involved with a denominational "church." Just the thought of "which church" can be confusing in itself. Just find fellowship with christians. Colosians 2:8-10
The Lord revealed to me that you know that you must love as spoken of by Jesus. Now it's time for you to go out into the world and DO the love. In everything you do, do it to glorify God through Jesus, not yourself nor your employer.
What you are seeking, Casey, is seeking God through helping others. Do an online KJV bible search for "one another," "each other," and "encourag" because living a christian life is a 24/7 lifestyle - not a once a week pep talk dished out by denominational "churches."

Just remember, Casey. The Holy spirit finds you. God's Love for you is unimaginable. He does not want you to be confused, or alone, or sad, or angry, neither does He want to force you to these. God is Love! He loves you no matter what kind of sins you have committed. That is why He sent His only begotten son to die and take on our sins, so that we may know and love God at an intamate level.
God Loves you!!!

Casey, I've been there many times myself in my Christian life.
One thing I've learned is that even when you can't feel God and you wonder if He has abandoned you, He always shows up just when you need Him the most.
Jesus said "I will never leave you nor forsake you"
I do think its possible that we can grieve the Spirit by some sin in our life that we aren't willing to let go of. It may seem like God isnt there, but He's just waiting for you to give Him control again and ask for forgiveness.

Sometimes we become too busy to be aware of the presence of God. It took me along time to quiet myself enough to have this awareness. I discovered that I was too busy--too busy working, too busy talking, too busy listening to others, too busy tuning out everything but the business. I became ill and was forced to be quiet. The quietness made me question God's existence. I became deeply depressed and discovered that the worst thing that could happen was not to feel God's presence. In time, it was in the quietness I re-discovered Him. He was there all along. I just did not know how to hear him. He had to teach me. I think He will teach you too. Don't be afraid. Trust Him and He will come to you in surprising ways.

Obtain a Holy Bible and begin reading it a little each day: the Old Testament is B.C. in the years before Christ, and the New Testament is A.D. in the years of Christ.

Many begin questioning God's existence because of what they see being done and taught in Christendom.
Christendom (or trinity-land), supported the 2 World Wars fought in the 20thCentury. Christendom's trinitarian leaders continue to support illegal wars.
This isn't suprising given the anti-Christ,anti-Holy Spirit effect of the trinity doctrine, emanating from the quagmire of Babylon's triadic god's and Hellenic,Neo-platonic teaching.
The Bible teaches 'one God',Deut.6:4. Plato's philosophy of 'Metaphysics' allows trinitarians to make Babylonian's triad appear as 'one God'. Trinitarians can thus worship not 3 Gods, but 3in1.
This 'mystery trinity' has put many off searching for the true God-YHWH or Jehovah,(Yahweh).

Yes, God is really there. Just look around--the order of nature, the sun, the earth, the stars, the animals, and mankind. God's presence is eveywhere. None else could have done this all?

Casey, start a dialog with him and just start talking to Him. God is omni-present, His Spirit is present everywhere so he hears you - he hears and knows everything. He is all-powerful, all-knowing and sovereign.
Why don't you say something to Him like, "God if you're real, please show yourself to me because I'm having a hard time believing. I want to God, but right now I'm having a bit of a hard time, can you do or say something special to me, so that I know it's you talking just to me?"
He may speak to you through another person, or show you a sign. It's up to Him how he communicates back to you. Read the bible and you will begin to know Him through his word.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
This means that the Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus. So if you want to get people saved you need the Holy Spirit. You receive power of that witness after the Holy Spirit comes upon you. That is why it was noised abroad on the day of Pentecost. Because the Holy Spirit was poured out upon those in the upper room and it drew all those in the city to come and hear Peter and convicted them to cry out how can we be saved?

It's difficult to tell from these few words just what you're getting at, the limitations for an initial post here can be vexing and confining, I agree.
However, God IS always there, even if you're not aware of Him. The fact that you're questioning this shows He's calling you to an even deeper and more immediate relationship with Him.

Casey here is the Word of God that applies to your situation. It is found in John 6:37,"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." The first part of the verse is talking about those who come to the Lord. You say you have asked the Lord into your heart therefore you have come to the Lord!! The last part of the verse says, he will not cast you out(turn you away). So regardless of what the enemy has put in your mind you must be saved, by God's Word, if you have ask him into your heart. If you had doubts of that you fact can ask him at this time. Be encouraged!!

Casey, I like one thing that Exzucuh said but for a different reason then the one he put down,
"No God is not THERE! He is found by faith alone, if you are not seeking him, you will not find him."
First of all God is not lost, we were lost. He is believed by saving faith. And the next sentence is very true, "if you are not seeking Him, you will not find Him"
Only those born of the Spirit seek Him. For all who are lost do not seek God unless God has drawn them first to Himself.
"There is none righteous, no not one, There is none who understands, There is none who seek after God" Romans 9:10-11. For it is written that way.
---MarkV. on 11/9/09|
No God is not THERE! He is found by faith alone, if you are not seeking him, you will not find him.
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
You need the Holy Spirit in your life. That is the Spirit of God living and abiding in you.You get it by Repenting and believing Jesus is God's Son, being baptized in his name for the remission of your sins then God will give you his Holy Spirit. If you do not obey the Gospel first by faith you cannot have the Holy Spirit. Faith without works is dead.

Casey, "The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith." You can be confident that if you ask any thing according to his will, he hears you. As the Psalmist so beautifully put it "O lord, you have searched me, and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up, you understand my thought afar off. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, see, O LORD, you know it altogether. You have beset me behind and before, and laid your hand on me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, it is high, I cannot attain to it. Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there."

Well, Casey . . . I have had questions about *myself* being reliable enough to know. So, I have trusted God to do what He really pleases with me, to have me feeling and believing what He wants . . . in His perfect peace ruling and guiding and deciding > "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) If He seems silent, may be I need to follow His example (o: and/or consider the possibility He *seems* to be silent when He is very busy but I'm not in touch. If He seems distant, maybe I need to also not be letting a problem get to me, either. Be open, I'd say (o:

It's okay to think and question. It's up to you to decide who or what you believe in.
---amand6348 on 11/8/09|
Only conscientious 'THINKERS' become "maybe Christians" (it's GOOD to be a thinker, in time, you will understand why). It's also good to have a CONSCIENCE (in time, you will understand).
It's also good to feel like a failure of a 'behavior contest' and be sad ("poor in spirit") that you can't meet God's standard of PERFECTION (I guess you will simply have to depend on God's graciousness instead of being DESERVING of salvation).
The Lord is "there".
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is...(the present/inner kingdom that desires a "better country")...
"desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one".
Verses from RSV.

The Word never doubted the mouth it came out from, but only spoke and repeated as His witness.
My God,my God,why hast thou forsaken me?
While Elohim is God as the Creator of all things,Yahoveh is the same God in covenant relation to us He created.
With His last breath,in Flesh He gives Divine Authority to the Testment.
Matt27:46 "Eli,Eli lama sabachthani?
I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me bearth witness of me.
At the mouth of two witness,or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put death, but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death."
Three witnesses:Jesus,His Father and the breath of life:Holy Spirit.

I was just talking to my brother about this.
I was telling him how every one of us doubts.
All the apostles had their moment of doubt.
You can even say Jesus did too. When he said
Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Some how I believe this will happen to all of us.
All I can tell you is what I tell myself.
When will it be my turn to doubt, lord?
Please lord! Let me always know your name!
Some how in my heart, I know he will not let us fall!
Blessed be his name! Brothers in the faith of Jesus Christ the son of God!
God bless and keep you!
